Remember this image? I photoshopped it way back when I didn’t have a car, and was eyeing this one. Ha!!
I go into my local auto-shop once or twice a year to get summer tires taken off and winters put on. The service I get is just great. I don’t know how the owner remembers my voice even if I call from a different phone number. Either he’s good with voices, or I just have a really distinct voice. Either way, I called and asked him:
“Hey! I’d like to make an appointment to get my winter tires put on, please?”
He responds: “For your little mazda?”
YES! That’s me!!!!
He mentioned they were booking for Thursday or Friday of this week, but I told him “No this day [XX] in December please” he laughed, I only assume because people are usually in a rush come the first snow fall (even though we haven’t had ours yet) and want them on ASAP.
But that made me smile. Good customer service, I say. The only thing I don’t like about winter tires is that they don’t have nice rims. At least mine are black and not rotting silver color. I don’t want hubcaps either mainly because I don’t need them so why shell out the dough. I could use the money to shell out for some new cute riding boots.
When I lived in Newfoundland, we had studded tires. Up here it’s a bit different as studs on the tires are illegal.
Do you have winter tires for your car?

Top of the morning!
I haven’t done one of these menu plan Monday’s in forevah. We went shopping at a few new places that opened up around our area this weekend, and bought a whack load of groceries while we were at it. Last night I chopped up all my veggies for tonight’s supper, and tomorrows! Naturally productive.
Let’s get to it.
Monday lunch: Roast chicken, carrots & mashed potatoes (Leftovers from last night)
Monday supper: Lemon Pepper stir fry (Note to self: Put this on the recipe page)
Tuesday lunch: Lemon Pepper stir fry leftovers or maybe Tuna fish sandwich on grilled bread with cheese.
Tuesday supper: Beanless chicken enchiladas, or chicken quesadillas.
Wednesday lunch: Tuna sandwich
Wednesday supper: Roasted potatoes (or fries) with cauliflower, carrots and either pork or chicken (very indecisive about this one hey?)
Thursday lunch: Frozen dinners
Thursday supper: Fish sticks with fries, or frozen pizza
Friday lunch: Tuna sandwich
Friday supper: Rich and creamy white chicken spaghetti
Anything you have planned this week for supper? Craving anything in particular? I don’t necessarily stick to this entire meal plan. We’re easily bribed with other foods.

So far so good with NaBloPoMo hey? Writing everyday isn’t that hard for me since I update on a very regular basis as it is. Well then, let’s get to the OOTWW shall we?
Thursday / Yesterday we had a Professional Development day. Normally we have this on every Remembrance Day and are allowed to wear jeans. This time however, we were talked about our appearance on Business Casual in the work force. The woman who came in looked like she stepped out of NYC in her fancy clothes. It was very nice mind you, but apparently my boots (that I wore on Thursday) do not belong at work. Huh. Who knew. I thought they were stylish. Also, skinny pants, and leggings with long tunics/long sweaters aren’t either. I’m sad!! Does this mean I have to stop wearing all my new stuff to work now? I don’t get it. I’m afraid to ask anyone lol :(
So off that topic. It’s Friday, and also Random Act of Kindness Day. Interesting. I was at a stop light and I was the 3rd or 4th car back. These two guys who I assumed wanted money for something, or were preachers were holding up something and coming towards the cars. I locked my doors because I’m afraid like that, but then as they got closer I just saw a newspaper and the guys looked kinda cute. Both of them. So I rolled my window down and he said “Happy Random Act of Kindness Day!“, handed me a newspaper and said “See? That’s what it’s all about“, since I took the newspaper gladly, as the other cars in front of me didn’t — I laughed and thanked him. By that point he was gone, and the light was green.
What have you got planned for the weekend?
