I’ve done it now!

Well, I’ve done it now! I’ve managed to get another co-worker hooked on the Fossil brand! Score.

If you’re new to my blog, or just missed the posts. I’ve blogged a few times about my Fossil items. You can see my brand new Fossil watch & purse here. My co-worker L, purchased two Fossil watches shortly after, and now Laura my other co-worker, bought a Fossil purse!

Since Laura is a reader of the blog, I asked her if she’d like to be featured this week. She happily accepted and posed with her new beaut for some photos.

Laura had been looking for a new purse for a few months but the stores she went into didn’t have the best quality of purses. Laura spotted mine when I received it in May, and has been asking if she could have it ever since. (Um. No.) She and her daughter were shopping in the local mall and randomly decided to just go on into the Fossil store. Knowing that Fossil bags were pricey, once she spotted the Explorer Tote and was indecisive as to whether or not to make the large purchase. Her daughter finally convinced her that she needs to spend some money on herself from time to time!

Good for her I say, she deserves to spend a little money on herself. Each morning, without fail I come into work, I pop by Laura’s desk and have a quick chat with her. Immediately I knew something was up, since she had this big grin on her face. She pointed to the floor where her purse was laying. When I realized it was a Fossil bag I think I gasped, then we both started laughing and I started touching and idolizing this foxy brown soft leather bag.

Laura ended up buying the Explorer Tote. It’s the larger version of my medium sized, Explorer Flap. The girls at the local store where she purchased it, said it’s a new color for Fall and Laura was one of the first people to buy it. That gal — what a fashionista! I was eying up her purse all day and kind of wanted to borrow it ;)

One thing about Fossil merchandise, is that they brand everything with keys, which I think is a great little subtle touch to branding their pieces.

Looks great on her right? Here’s Laura sporting her knockout purse of hers. Literally, she could knock someone out with it. Her bag was already filled to the brim and about 7lbs heavy, ha ha!

Even though Laura’s Explorer Tote is the larger version of my Explorer Flap, there still is a few slight differences in our bags!

Are you a fan of Fossil purses?

Are you a shoe girl, purse girl, or clothing kind of girl?

As you know, I’m a huge fan of Fossil products. Between their purses, watches and bracelets. I think I need to invest some stocks in Fossil ;)

I’m a purse and a shoe girl.

We love CrossFit

Ashley said it well on her blog, earlier yesterday: For the Love of CrossFit. She always says what I’m thinking in my head, about CrossFit but rarely write about. I love her blog.

Last week I took a “break” from CrossFit, and now this week I’ve been attending the local YMCA with my co-worker doing Yoga (really fun, seriously) and Muscle Pump (no thanks). I skipped out on going to the YMCA last night to go to CrossFit again, because I wanted to sweat. This was our SWOD/DWOD:

For the SWOD I ended up doing a total of 75lbs, and when I went to 80lbs I dropped the weight on the ground since I couldn’t lift it at all lol.

AMRAP stands for “As Many Rounds As Possible” in 12 minutes. I managed to get 3 rounds in, while everyone else got 5+. I’m very weak in the shoulders and found that lifting a 25lb plate over head while doing lunges really slowed me down. Plus, I suck at skipping. I got some pretty gnarly bruises from the 90 regular skips (since I can’t do double unders we have to do 3x the amount of skips). Who gets bruised elbows from skipping? Seriously. So weird.

When my co-worker saw my bruises she called me a maniac. Which then reminded her of her favorite movie Tommy Boy, and thought I may have looked like him while I was skipping. I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard seeing that scene from the movie. Just watch…

After my CrossFit workout last night, I ran with my co-worker around town! Awesome way to end the evening. 6km with some sprints at the very end. My favorite! My legs honestly felt like they were made of lead by the end. SO heavy. But we did it! I don’t think I’ve sweat in places I’ve sweated before. It was interesting and maybe traumatizing.

P.S. I totally found a random photo of me the other day.

These two photos are almost 10 years apart from each other. Looks like I’m going backwards in age ;) Either that, or I’m thanking that my Boyfriend asked me to stop in tanning beds!

Off I go to Yoga again! I don’t think I’ve worked out this much in months. 4x already this week!

Getting crafty with Sharpie

Remember last month I was counting down the days until Christmas? How about I give you some Christmas present ideas for birthdays, anniversaries or anything of the like?

To give you a low down, I have a total of four nephews. The littlest ones are 6 and almost 5. For Christmas last year I had planned on painting them some ceramic piggy banks and painting their favorite animals on it. Dinosaurs for one, monkeys for the other. It was poor planning on my part as I went into a pottery painting studio a little too late and the piggy banks were out of stock. My plan was ruined! Never the less, I saved that idea and that’s what I plan on getting them for Christmas this year. Ha! I just have to get my butt down to the studio and paint them up. I’ll probably blog about my experience, since it’ll be kind of neat.

Plus it’s such an inexpensive, yet such a personalized that it makes the gift even that more special.

How true is that, right?

While I’m on the topic of making your own gifts, I wanted to show you a mug that I painted for myself, with these new Sharpie Brush tips! I can use this to either hold my sharpies, or for drinking tea at work. Yumm-o.

I’m sure everyone is familiar with Sharpie® markers, and know that they have some pretty fun ink colors. I’m already a huge fan of them and use them all the time at my work. Look at my Sharpie (fine point) collection! They’ve recently come out with a new brush tipped Sharpie that creates fine lines, brush strokes and shading all with a single marker! So you’re definitely not limited to the amount of fun you can have with them all.

Parents, you’ve only got a few weeks until your children go back to school (hooray?). Perhaps you’re wondering what to do with them at the end of the summer, and have no other activity ideas left for them, to keep them all occupied? Let their creativity go wild and get them to decorate their t-shirts, bicycle helmets, notebooks for school, or even their skateboards! They are a permanent marker, so be careful what you give them :) The brush tip sharpie’s are really easy to work with and you can create bold lines with more pressure on the marker, or less pressure for fine lines.

They come available in twelve visit colors. You can pick them up at Staples, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstores and DeSerres, and sold individually and in 4 and 8 packs with prices from $1.79 to $13.99.

But guess what? Oh I’m not leaving you guys out at all. One of you lucky folks gets to win three packs of the new Sharpie Brush markers, as well!

Please note this giveaway is for Canadian residents only. Giveaway ends on August 10 and the winner has 48 hours to get back to me with their mailing address or a re-draw will occur.
