Anyone who lives in South Western Ontario can vouch for me that yesterday was extremely beautiful outside, correct? It was 18ºC out there!! People were wearing tank tops and shorts. Of course we had to go out and enjoy the last bit of weather before the weather turns.
So, what does your month end calendar look like?
All my favorite people’s birthday are in October. Boyfriends, close friends and loved ones. I wonder if that means something? Do I flock towards them subconsciously?
Get this:
Boyfriend’s birthday: October 4
Best friend #1 birthday: October 22
Best friend #2 birthday: October 27
Nephew: October 31
That’s gotta mean something. haha. I always found that pretty interesting.
I hate messing up my calendar. I get paid on Friday’s, the purple $ sign you see scratched out was when I obviously couldn’t do my math right and got confused drawing every second Friday off as a pay day. Ugh. So I had to scratch it out. Unfortunately I do not get paid three times in October. Whatevs. It’ll be more exciting getting paid 3x a month come JANUARRRRRY.
November is looking pretty similar though too.
Annnnyway, onto more organizing for the week. Here’s my menu plan. I really need to get rid of a lot of things in our freezer (it’s the type that’s attached to the refrigerator, so it’s JAM.PACKED with pork chops and other frozen stuff that was on sale.)
Monday: Macaroni and Cheese
Tuesday: Chicken, mashed potatoes, and carrots (we bought a 10lb bag of potatoes!!)
Wednesday: Pork tenderloin marinade (without the pork tenderloin, just reg. boneless chops), with roasted potatoes, and broccoli
Thursday: Chicken penne alla vodka (Haven’t made this in aaaages. It’s so high in fat. Any recommendations for a replacement of Whipping Cream? I’m also going to replace the penne pasta with large shell pasta that was something likr $0.75 for a huge monster bag)
Friday: Frozen pizza (also on sale. We have three in the freezer)
Saturday: Honey garlic pork stir fry. (I haven’t had honey garlic on anything but chicken before, so hopefully this will be edible.)
Most of these meals can be found on my recipe page. I also plan on making jube-jube cake this week. MMMM. My Mom’s (grandmas?) old recipe. I haven’t had it in years. But it’s super easy to make. I’m stoked!

Sunday: Chicken teriyaki stir fry (carrots, green pepper, tomatoes, broccoli, and basmati rice)
Monday: Pork Chops (on sale at Sobeys!), with roasted red potatoes, and carrots
Tuesday:Â Foil pack dinner (if this turns out well, I’ll feature it on my recipe page)
Wednesday: Quesadillas
Thursday: Tacos
Friday: Chicken nuggets (hey, a girls’ gotta have a break from cooking sometimes)
Saturday: Honey Mustard Chicken (recipe)
And not to have this post all boring and about food. I think I forgot to post a photo of my purchases after I mentioned them in a blog post. So here we have’em:
Careful with enlarging them. They’re friggen huge. I decided to just copy them over from my Flickr page. I was lazy and didn’t want to resize them.
I have no shame. You all can see my newly purchased undies. Whatever. They’re microfibre and I want to spend all my monies on them. They’re so soft and comfortable, and don’t leave a panty line! I am super confused with VS’s sizing. I have everything ranging from XS to Med. in their undies. I had to return three pairs of small’s and exchange them for mediums, that still look incredibly tiny on my butt. I shop at aerie stores all the time for regular underwear and I always buy smalls and they’re always the same fit/size each time. Why fool with me, Victoria Secret… why?
Then I headed to BBW where I picked up some much needed smelly ahnd soaps. Mmmm. Can you guess what everyone’s getting for Christmas!?
I picked up a christmasy/winter nail file because I’ve recently became obsessed with filing my nails rather than clipping them. 3 hand soaps (Frosted Orange Spice which I think is just a holiday scent, Wild Honey Suckle — a regular in this household, and Sea Island Cotton which has a very fresh scent) and with a purchase over $10 I got to pick up a hand cream for free. I think I picked up Sea Island Cotton. On the bottom you’ll see a lip balm (which is so retarded. I should have tried this on anything other than my hands before purchasing it. But it comes out very shimmery and GOLD on your lips. It’s a bit insane, and a total waste of $7.50. Lastly, I purchased some hand sanitizer in wild honey suckle. I can’t stop smelling my hands after I apply this. Mmm so good. I need to go back and get some more deals before they stop having their grand opening sale (Buy 3 get 2 free, or Buy 2 get 1 free). I know my Mom would love some of their bath scents…
What are your favorite things from Bath and Body works, or even Victoria Secret PINK line?

I haven’t done on of these in what seems like months. I get in these organizational fits which, don’t get me wrong… are good things. After our trip to BC and Alberta we were mesmerized and didn’t want to spend any more money. We went a bit crazy with the spending and not looking for the cheapest hotels and just eating out. I was all for it, because we saved up for this trip well in advance. It was our first vacation together as a couple, so after four years of just going back home to Newfoundland together — we went all out.
Last weekend I decided on making just one weekly trip to the grocery store, have left overs for lunch at work the next day and cook every night. It’s been working out so well, that we’re a bit slow on the left overs. Today, my boyfriend has two lunches. The other night I made Macaroni and Cheese and we had enough left overs to have it last night and for my Boyfriend for lunch today!
What has been on the more–than–weekly menu these past few days? Sounds quite deee–lish on the palette doesn’t it?
SATURDAY:Â Roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli
SUNDAY:Â Tangy Thai stir fry (Used Renee’s Tangy Thai sauce) | Broccoli |Â Carrots | Canned sliced mushrooms | Served on a bed of basmati rice
MONDAY: Chicken pad thai with red pepper and plum tomatoes
TUESDAY: Home made ooey gooey macaroni and cheese (Coming soon to the recipe section!)
WEDNESDAY: Stuffed Chicken. Ended up microwaving the macaroni and cheese. There was 3 meals left over, so BF took it to lunch.
THURSDAY: Rotini + Italian sausage pasta dish.
FRIDAY: Pork tenderloin with roasted potatoes and carrots.
SATURDAY: Farmers market salmon + asparagus + basmati rice
SUNDAY: Chicken penne alla vodka (I’ll be cheating and using Classico’s Vodka sauce).
I went shopping a couple of times this week so I’ll be putting together a post about that in the next few days. My J.Crew sweater came in and it fits nice and good, but I like sweaters almost snug fitting so I think I could have went with an XS after all.
Okay! Yay! Have a great day guys!
