Valentines Break Down

First, I wanted to post a video of Alfie trying to eat his supper. I was watching the show Republic of Doyle (filmed in Newfoundland!) and you can hear in the background a Memorial University of Newfoundland commercial on the TV. hear those accents? Hee hee.

As I mentioned I had to hand-feed Alfie. Last night he ate part of a plastic bag the night before, which made it painful to … unload his stuff. I had to yank it out with a plastic bag, while he whimpered. Awesome.

1 minute and 45 seconds of Alfie. It’s boring but… you know. I love the pup.

dawggieSee? We pose for pictures! Okay. This wasn’t Valentines day, nor was the video. So we’ll skip over the stuff you already know about vday. But let’s do a little recap:

chauffered

I was chauffeured in my car as we we went to King Tut in Toronto. I also got my pants fixed at Lululemon. While driving out of Toronto, in China Town we also saw some people dressed and carrying the dragons around for Chinese New Year! That was pretty awesome to see. Also when we went to park in the underground and walked up to the streets, I saw a man in a Mercedes SUV try to parallel park and ended up pushing another car out of the way, with his bumper! I couldn’t believe it. I stood there in the alley way, and flailed my arms saying “omg what an idiot!” Scott quickly grabbed my arm and told me to mind my own business. Since we were in an alley, and in Toronto. lol. I couldn’t believe it! Just to get a parking spot. Jeeze Loise.

Then I came home and turned on all the stuff on the stove and started cooking.

Up first, I had the table all decorated so pretty. When I think about it — I have pink place mats and probably should of  used those. Oops.

I slaved over the stove top to make some homemade boxed mushroom risotto. Delish, but I think I ended up making too much. Though, we ate it…

Can’t have risotto without a bit of wine, no? I had no idea what I was picking out. I only started to like wine when we went to British Columbia, in September, when we went to the Quails Gate Winery. So I went to the local section of the liquor store and picked up the first bottle that caught my eye. All I knew was that I didn’t like Merlot when I tried it last, so I picked this up, and went to one of the sales clerks and asked if it was going to go well with what I was serving. Voila. Perfection. Bought on the spot.

wineSo tasty. Wine makes everything better. Even the best weight loss pills.

After that, supper was served. Check out the table setting now. Ooh la la. Chocolates, Wine, Risotto, Pork Tenderloin, Carrots cut a different way, and… mashed potatoes!

A close up, to make that mouth of yours salivate like nothing else. Oh, want the recipe for the pork tenderloin marinade? Sure thing!

That wasn’t all either. We polished off the bottle of wine I had picked out, and went straight for dessert! The chocolates were just Valentines candy. We needed some GOOD dessert. Our favorite: cheesecake. President’s Choice double decker. Oh yyyeeeah.

Dog chewsssss

Since we all have the day off today, in Ontario (it’s FAMILY DAY!). I have decided to post once again because – I’m bored, with no errands to do, or no food to cook.

We bought this small dog carrier for Alfie so we can strap him in the car like one of those car seat baby things. He hated being inside it for the first little while, but ever since he took a car-ride in it, he’s been loving it. Aggressively. Thankfully it was just a cheap one bought at Walmart and we can replace it when he stops teething because I’m afraid that he’ll soon chew through the clip that goes from the carrier to his collar. Aghhh.

Lululemon crops = broken

The day after I wrote my Lululemon post, I wore my Run Empower Crop II’s to the gym and noticed the stitching was slowing unraveling on the left hand side of the back/hip area. I read that this had happened to another buyer. I ended up e-mailing Lululemon directly asking for some direction as to what I should do, since Lululemon has a great reputation of their clothes holding their own and lasting years and years.

However, I had only washed my Run Empower Crop II’s once, and wore them a handful of times only to notice the major flaw in them! Regardless if I  bought them on sale during the Boxing Day sale they had, I was still thoroughly disappointed. So much so, that I don’t even want to bring them back because they’re my favorite piece from Lululemon! It’s a bit strange to see something go wrong with a Lulu item, especially seeing that my crops are basically brand new, ad how long all my other pants/items have lasted. Ideally, I would like to keep wearing these crops, but I’m afraid to at the moment, because I don’t want them to do any more damage.

I received a somewhat generic e-mail response just hours after I e-mailed them (which, I may add — is fantastic, how I can contact them so easily). Basically they said the same thing to me, as they did in the comments to the other reviewer who had her pants come undone.

Hey Nancy!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Yes, your best bet at this point would be to take your pair of Empower Crop II’s into the nearest store, as the situation you described sounds like a quality issue. The educators in the store will do their best in terms of helping find a solution for this.
Hope this helps!

I ended up driving the two hour round trip to the nearest Lululemon store — which just so happens to be Toronto, so we made a day out of it.

Yesterday we drove to Toronto to see King Tut at the Art Gallery of Ontario and spent a good three hours going through the insane crowds at the exhibition. King Tut’s things were incredible, and I couldn’t get over it — I was in awe! We weren’t allowed to take photos, however. My Mom really wanted to see it. But alas, she’s in Newfoundland…

After that was over we drove to Sherway Gardens mall (a very uppity mall, at that) and raced into Lululemon. I still can’t believe how awesome their customer service is. The guy who was looking after me, just took my crops when I mentioned what had happened. We were standing in the store about ten minutes just wondering where he went. He popped back, handed me my crops all stitched up!

Hopefully that won’t happen again to my pants, hey?

So stay tuned for my romantic place setting for Valentines Day! Rather than gifts for her, it was gifts for HIM. That will be posted tomorrow… :)
