The long weekend is here! Horrah!

My friend from back home (the one to the right) is literally minutes away from me, here in Ontario visiting her brother. I’m so excited I get to see her over the weekend! Hopefully she has time to hang out more than once with fun ol’ me ;)

Not sure what I have planned for the long weekend. Nothing in particular. I was debating whether or not I should go to CrossFit tonight because last night’s WOD was tremendous, but exhausting. I think I’m going to end up going, making it four times this week. I think they’ll be closed on Monday and that’s a SUPER long break if I decide to not work out tonight. Hold me to it guys, no excuses!

Speaking of CrossFit, I was talking to one of the two coaches who owns the gym and I was discussing my paleo digestive issues with him. He told me to incorporate more root vegetables such as turnip, squash and all those hearty veggies (blech) and maybe cut down more on coconut oil since things aren’t getting solidified. Can’t believe I’m discussing this with you all. But… y’know. It is what it is. He also thought my digestive issues were quite strange and unusual so he’s going to shoot an e-mail to Rob Wolf and research some things and get back to me. Anyyyhoo. Thought I’d keep you all informed on those bodily functions of mine for a beauty Friday. Hope you enjoyed that ;)

Onto my outfits of the work week!ootww

I’m off to finish my breakfast of a sweet potato and mango…. mmm!sweet potato and mango

Tell me your plans for the weekend.

My CrossFit Journal Year 2 Week 21

I’ve been on a self guilt trip for the last few weeks. I’ve only been working out twice a week and have been having stomach issues almost everyday. I plan to blog about why I’m thinking of going off paleo. To put it simply … It’s giving me a leaky gut and I just cannot live like that. The full 30 days I was doing the Paleo challenge at CrossFit it was every.single.day. A leaky gut! It was dreadful. So now I feel guilty about going to CrossFit because I won, and everyone’s always asking me how Paleo is going. Well. It’s not going. Unless it’s going through me, you mean.

I’m still thinking about not really eating carbs that often. Just incorporating natural foods, nothing processed. But for now I’m allowing myself any cheats on whatever days whenever I feel the need. I think I just need to amp up my workouts because twice a week isn’t really cutting it.

3 @ 70% (I used 70lbs)
3 @ 75% (I used 75lbs)
3 @ 80% (I used 80lbs)
2 @ 85% (I used 85lbs)
1 @ 90% (I used 95lbs)
3×1 @ 90-95% I couldn’t go past 95lbs!

WOD:5 Rounds
5 Clean to Thrusters
10 True (ring) pushups

I completed the five rounds in 11:52 and I think I used 55lbs for the workout.

year 2, week 21, day 2

1km run
10KB swing (32/24kg)
10 T2B
400m run
20KB swing
20 T2B
1km run
10KB swings
10 T2B

We had a 20 minute time limit. My first kilometer run was 5:15 and I headed into the kettlebell swings and used 16kg. Since it was only a 20 min WOD I didn’t finish it. I ended up going out on my last run at 15 minute-something and when I got back the buzzer had already beeped so it was the end. I was still pretty proud!

My CrossFit Journal Year 2 Week 19

Ahem. It’s been a few weeks, since I’ve done a weekly recap of my workouts at CrossFit. I’m getting back into it today.

Wish I had some photos to keep it more visually interesting for you guys. Perhaps next week I’ll google some instructional images for you to all understand what we’re doing at CrossFit. Is that something you’d like to see? Let me know in the comments!

Ring Dips
KB Swings
Box Jumps

For the strict pullups I used a black band. For the last set I used a red one. Gettin’ stronger with strict!

For the WOD I used 16kg for the KB swings. Rx was 24kg for women I think. Nuts. My time for completing it was 10:07

year 2, week 19, day 2

10-1 Deadlifts 1.5x bodyweight
1-10 Tru Pushups (on the rings)
*200m run between rounds

I used 105lbs for the deadlifts, and completed the rounds. I was on the few tru pushups when the timer went off. I would’ve had to finish off with a run. I think we had 21 minutes to complete this.
