At home CrossFit WOD

Today was such a lazy Saturday. We both slept a lot, and by a lot I’m sort of embarrassed to tell you we had a nap on top of the nights sleep we got last night. Because apparently 8 hours on week nights isn’t long enough for me and I needed to catch up on it.

Alfie-in-the-snowAlfie on the balcony earlier today… eating the freshly fallen snow.

McDonalds-Mocha Well, I’m wide awake now since an hour ago we headed to McDonalds to redeem our free McCafe coupons to grab a mocha each. Some tasty too b’ys. I love the way their cups fit my lips. All curvy like.

McDonalds-CouponsPsst, thanks for the extra coupons Stephanie!

Alfie wearing Canada PoochAlfie came with us for the car drive too. Isn’t this photo hilarious? It’s like he’s driving us there. Atta boy!

Alfies Canada Pooch jacketHe looks super cute in it too. I did a review on the Canada Pooch jacket for him last winter, he still loves it! It’s such great quality and doesn’t look worn at all. Bonus.

Canada-Pooch-JacketClose up of the jacket after I lint-rolled Alfie’s fur off it.

muffinsToday wasn’t an entire write-off, because I made a “big breakfast” for us, then lemon poppy seed muffins and a delicious supper with scalloped potatoes! Do you know how long they take to cook in the oven? 1.5 hours! It was torture waiting for them, and smelling them cook.

using tongs for muffinsAm I brilliant or what? I can’t stand touching hot things from the oven or toaster. In fact, my Boss scolded me this week for taking my English muffins out of the toaster with a knife. Yes it was plugged in. I shouldn’t admit that I do that…but omg isn’t the tong the best idea ever for getting muffins out of the pan?

Garnet-Hill-catalogThis post is all over the place, but that’s alright sometimes right? I got this random catalog in the mail over the past week and I have no idea how this US company got my address up here in Canada. But they did. Probably because I give my mailing address out to any survey that asks for it. Just kidding Mom! Either way, I’m digging the stuff they have for sale.

Garnet-Hill-catalog-003I want this sweater. But instead of the mint colored pants, I really want a pair of olive green one’s. I came across a pair at Top Shop last year but unfortunately didn’t want to pay the hefty $80 price tag for them. I’m a cheap girl now. I get all of my pants at H&M. Seriously. They fit me soo well. H&M, please make some olive pants for spring…

Garnet-Hill-catalog-002Like their bedding too. I’m a grey gal. Our bedding is all grey too. I should add some texture to it though, like that throw blanket. Looks nice.

I think the combination of listening to audioboxlive and drinking that caffeinated drink has made me a little hyper this evening. I can’t stop typing.

February-calendarLast week I picked up some Sharpie pens for work (thanks to Leanne’s review of them), and ended up bringing them home so I could make a February to-do calendar for the boyf and I. Jam-packed with attending CrossFit! I like the pens, since they’re fine point and they don’t bleed onto the next piece of paper.

at-home-workoutThe boyf and I ended up doing an at home CrossFit WOD tonight.

pushups-at-homeWhat? You don’t workout in jeans? Pushups, bicep curls, v-snaps. 3 full rounds! The real deal. I’ll do an “at home workout” post tomorrow about it.

Guys. I really do have to start my 50 day push up challenge again, but when I fly to Quebec later this month I don’t want to “forget” to do them, or put off doing them. But at the same time I don’t want to wait til the end of the month to start them. Suggestions? lol…

Sitting-PomeranianAnd we’re out! Good night!

Getting crafty with Sharpie

Remember last month I was counting down the days until Christmas? How about I give you some Christmas present ideas for birthdays, anniversaries or anything of the like?

To give you a low down, I have a total of four nephews. The littlest ones are 6 and almost 5. For Christmas last year I had planned on painting them some ceramic piggy banks and painting their favorite animals on it. Dinosaurs for one, monkeys for the other. It was poor planning on my part as I went into a pottery painting studio a little too late and the piggy banks were out of stock. My plan was ruined! Never the less, I saved that idea and that’s what I plan on getting them for Christmas this year. Ha! I just have to get my butt down to the studio and paint them up. I’ll probably blog about my experience, since it’ll be kind of neat.

Plus it’s such an inexpensive, yet such a personalized that it makes the gift even that more special.

How true is that, right?

While I’m on the topic of making your own gifts, I wanted to show you a mug that I painted for myself, with these new Sharpie Brush tips! I can use this to either hold my sharpies, or for drinking tea at work. Yumm-o.

I’m sure everyone is familiar with Sharpie® markers, and know that they have some pretty fun ink colors. I’m already a huge fan of them and use them all the time at my work. Look at my Sharpie (fine point) collection! They’ve recently come out with a new brush tipped Sharpie that creates fine lines, brush strokes and shading all with a single marker! So you’re definitely not limited to the amount of fun you can have with them all.

Parents, you’ve only got a few weeks until your children go back to school (hooray?). Perhaps you’re wondering what to do with them at the end of the summer, and have no other activity ideas left for them, to keep them all occupied? Let their creativity go wild and get them to decorate their t-shirts, bicycle helmets, notebooks for school, or even their skateboards! They are a permanent marker, so be careful what you give them :) The brush tip sharpie’s are really easy to work with and you can create bold lines with more pressure on the marker, or less pressure for fine lines.

They come available in twelve visit colors. You can pick them up at Staples, Walmart, Real Canadian Superstores and DeSerres, and sold individually and in 4 and 8 packs with prices from $1.79 to $13.99.

But guess what? Oh I’m not leaving you guys out at all. One of you lucky folks gets to win three packs of the new Sharpie Brush markers, as well!

Please note this giveaway is for Canadian residents only. Giveaway ends on August 10 and the winner has 48 hours to get back to me with their mailing address or a re-draw will occur.
