Hello Saturday, I love you!

Well! I’m in a peppy kind of mood this morning. I think it helped going to bed at midnight and waking up half past ten! ha ha!! I leaped out of bed. I hate getting up that late I only like to sleep in until close to ten ;)  on the weekends. Otherwise I feel like the day is half gone.

I woke up like a starved gull and headed straight for the kitchen to make some scrambled eggs, toast and tea. We buy our eggs in an 18-pack, they don’t last long. We had 3 left in the 18-pack and a full carton left in the fridge. I don’t know why I decided that it made sense to make all 3 remaining eggs for myself. It was definitely a sport to get them all down. Maybe I added too much milk to my mixture. What does milk do, anyway for eggs? Taste good, that’s all I know.

P.S. — I use this Roasted Red Pepper Aioli stuff on everything. Salads, Paninis, Eggs, you name it, it’s on there. Apparently it’s a local guy who makes this stuff. Chef Robert Private Stock. I went without these delicious bottles for the WHOLE summer since David’s Gourmet was out of stock. Shame on them for not feeding my addiction. They’re pricey, at nearly $7 a bottle, but I should seriously consider contacting the guy who makes it and buy it in bulk of 12 or something. The stuff doesn’t last long in our kitchen because I use an abundance of it, on everything. I was only there a few weeks ago, bought 3 bottles of it and only 1.5 bottles is left. It’s all in my BELLY. I’ve gotten co-workers hooked on it, and even sent some down to my Mom in Newfoundland, during the winter last year. Though, I haven’t heard if she liked it or not. Mom, do you?

Sorry about the useless ingredient list. I swear it’s in English. My triathelete of a boyfriend has no issue with the ingredients and doesn’t see any harm in me downing a bottle of it in a week, so it mustn’t have anything too bad in it for me. ;)

Later on this afternoon I think I’m going to head out to Sport Chek and get my new Zoot’s exchanged for another size. I was disappointed to see that their sizing isn’t as accurate as I had hoped. I thought I had tried on Zoot’s in the past while the boyfriend was adding to his triathlon-shoe collection.

In fact! People always ask me how I online shop all the time. I say that I’m a true 8.5 in my shoe, and all shoes fit the same. Except these silly Zoot’s. It’s no biggie. There’s plenty of store locations around me, so exchanging them won’t be an issue.

I can’t believe how chatty I am today. Usually I take a break from blogging on the weekends but clearly not today.

After I ate my breakfast, the Boyfriend requested I make him one too — I had planned on making him a “big breakfast” (usually consists of hash browns, sausages, and eggs) once he got back from his bike ride. But he’s a bit delayed this morning so I made one after I had mine.

Yum.

Alright. Maybe I’ll go make myself useful now and run around and do some errands. I was thinking of doing a “Day In The Life” blog post, taking photos of everything I do in the run of a day (idea taken from my friend Leanne). I’m just not feeling it today. But would you guys be interested in that?

I have a daily blog, as you guys know (duh). But I find it extremely difficult to blog what happened the same day, or blog each meal/snack and post it online. It’s a lot of photo editing, and writing! Kudos to those who do it. Especially Julie from Peanut Butter Fingers, and Courtney from Sweet Tooth Sweet Life. There ya go. Check out some new blog reads for yourself. I’m sure you’ve heard of them already, but they’re two of my favorite go-to blogs for a daily-in-the-life type of ordeal.

Wow. Long post. Later gaters. But before I go, is anyone interested in vehicle wraps virginia? They’re basically car wraps that you see on race cars. I doubt anyone who reads my blog, races cars. But you never know!

Burt’s Bees take2

I’ve used up my entire bottle of Burt’s Bees face cream that I reviewed here, and gave a few other goodies to my Mom, when I went back home to Newfoundland. I know she doesn’t mind receiving opened tubes of things I’ve tested a few times. I have to share the wealth, right? I mean, I certainly cannot use all the products that I have!

Regardless if Autumn is on its inevitable way, I still want to have glowy summer kissed skin. Initially I had wanted to try out the Burt’s Bee’s Radiant Body Lotion since I’ve heard a few people on YouTube talk about how great it makes the legs look. But, since I’ll be wearing pants in the next few weeks I have no one to show off my shiny legs to, ha! So, I’ve decided to go ahead and try out the Burt’s Bees Radiant FACE lotion… made with (get this) Royal Jelly.  Doesn’t that just made you think of whale blubber or something? I didn’t know what the heck it was, until I saw the backside of the box it came in.

It actually has some interesting history. Check out what Royal Jelly really is:

I received this set of three Radiance back in July. So of course, I wanted to test them out before I gave a review of the products. Which can take months to do so, right? I can’t give a full review after just using it once or twice. Plus my Mom isn’t getting her hands on these products. I actually requested that I try them out, so I knew in advance that I would already like them. 2 out of the 3, that is.

Back to the stuff with the Royal Jelly. The day cream I’ve been using it once a day, every day since I received it. I’m about one third through the bottle. Not bad. I just make sure my hands are freshly washed before I dunk my index finger in to grab a gloop of it to put on my face.

It pairs well under both my Laura Mericer moisturizing foundation, and the Bobbi Brown Luminous foundation (both which you can see more in depth in my makeup routine — which needs to be updated because I don’t use BB cream anymore). I noticed some moisturizers don’t work well with my foundations and actually look like my skin is coming off (it’s the makeup that “rolls up” when I apply it. It’s the strangest thing. Think eraser rubbings. That’s what comes off on my face with certain moisturizers after I apply my makeup).

Day lotion:

It left a very noticeable white cast on my face after I applied this. I didn’t like it. Basically, it was like taking sunscreen and giving it a good go over on your face, and not applying any moisturizer on after that. I felt like something was missing. The moisturizer! I didn’t like this product and it’s still sitting on the shelf. This one will be going to my Mom, when I fly home next week. It even came with directions, that didn’t work:

Next, the face wash:

It’s really hard to compare any face wash to my absolute favorite Philosophy — Purity Cleanser. With the Philosophy, I can get it in my eyes and scrub lightly or hard and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. The first time I used the Burt’s Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser, I got a bit in my eye. It was scented (as is Purity) and it hurt a bit, but didn’t sting. It’s a nice gentle cleanser and it’s been on my bathroom sink for a few months, sharing rent with the Purity cleanser. So I must be liking it somewhat, otherwise it’d be chucked away in the back room somewhere.

Also when I use this cleanser, it doesn’t make my skin tight after using it. Which is a huge bonus. A lot of cleansers dry my skin out really quickly to the point it’s almost painful to smile! How rude.

Would I go out and purchase these products after I finished up with them? Yes to two of them. Day lotion is definitely out for me. But the others are a definite re-purchase, because they’re so natural and gentle on the skin.

What is your favorite moisturizer, or cleanser? Also, what skin type do you have? I love hearing what people use.

OOTWW

It’s the first day of Fall! Hope everyone had a good week whether at school, home or work. Wednesday and Thursday I had a nasty headache that just wouldn’t go away. I went to bed at 11pm last night and even hit the snooze button on my alarm this morning. It was a nice needed rest. I even put on a bitta lip gloss! It’s crazy bright right now, but went on clear (you can’t see it in the photo because I had JUST put it on when it was “clear”). Trickster lip gloss.

What does everyone have planned this weekend? I think I’m going to go to Sport Chek and spend my gift card that I got, and also belay at the local climbing gym for some volunteer hours to get a free month membership. ;)
