The epitome of makeup lines

Dior and YSL are pretty much the epitome of make-up to me. I’ve often walked passed the counters at Holt Renfrew, just wishing I could have the entire collections sitting on my own dresser at home. I’ve been lucky enough to work with both companies in the past year a few times so I consider myself incredibly lucky.

I still love playing with make-up, even if I don’t plan to leave the house. I love to experiment at home and I’ve been using make up from both the spring lines of Dior (see my Dior Spring Look) and YSL.

Hope I don’t kill it

Being an artistic creative person, working in the arts and graphic design my whole life — you’d think I’d be alright in keeping plants alive and nurtured too, right? Well. I’m not. I’ve killed every plant I have ever owned. So I decided to stop letting things die in my hands and give myself a few years break, and start looking after a dog instead.

Pom, Pomeranian, #Pom, #Pomeranian, #DogsOfInstagram, Alfie the PomThis smiling squirt’s name is Alfie, in case you didn’t know. He’s almost 5, and definitely not dead. Jeeze you guys this is getting morbid. So now that The Guy and I have kept Alfie fed and hydrated — I thought I’d take another shot at a plant. Like I can compare the two. See? Ridiculous.

Jessica invited me along to go to a smoothie place that just opened in Los Altos, I’ll talk about that at another time. Delicious by the way. After our drinks were in our tummies, we walked around down town a bit more and popped into The Botanist, where I purchased an air plant called a Tillandsia Andreana. Tillandsia-Andreana

I’ll never remember that, it was written on my receipt — I don’t even know how to pronounce it. Thankfully, it requires very little watering in fact — just a light misting every 7-10 days, and it doesn’t sit in soil. See? It’s a funny little thing.

Dior Spring Look

The Dior Trianon Collection for Spring is now out on shelves. So, what better way to celebrate the first day of the new season than to put on a little fancy makeup and hang out with a friend? Dior-Trianon-Palette

Dior-Spring-2014It’s been far too long since I’ve done a what-I-wore look, besides the swatches and general close ups of products.

Trianon Collection colours from Dior are right up my alley, so I thought I’d wear them more frequently. Since I don’t wear eyeshadow often, I had to start practicing and this is what I’ve been wearing if I choose to put on eyeshadow any given day.

Light pink colour all over my lid, Yellow as highlight on the brow bone
Dark grey as an eye liner, Light grey above the liner
Then I dabbed a bit of blue on the lid because why not use all 5?

Dior-2014-SpringTrianon is a very fresh, and clean looking collection that is very easy to wear.

Glow Maximizer, Dior
Hydra Life BB Cream, Dior
Sunset bronzer, Jouer
Corail Bagatelle Trianon Blush, Dior

 Eyes:
Pastel Fontanges Couture Colour Eyeshadow, Dior
Mascara, Buxom

Lips:
Allégresse Rouge, Dior
Pétillante Dior Addict Gloss, Dior

What do you think of the finished look? The bright pink lipstick colour may be a little intimidating to some, however it’s easily tamed down if you just dab a small amount to your lips, and rub it in with your ring finger. I only added a hint of gloss, which completed the natural look I was going for.Spring-Makeup-from-Dior

Disclaimer, I received all Dior products from the PR company for review — with exception of the Hydra Life BB cream.
