Wunder Unders, Blogger Meetups and Jamba Juice

I feel so lucky that we have a gym in our complex. The Guy and I take advantage of it and go together when he gets off work.

30-Min-Treadmill-WorkoutI completed this thirty minute treadmill workout that was tough towards the end. I actually had to stop at 29:30 because I couldn’t keep my breathing up. It was a toughy! It’ll take you to about 2.5 miles after you’re finished. Which isn’t so bad considering the 10 minutes of it you’re just walking at 4.0.

CrossFit Waterloo tee, MPG leggings, Mizuno sneakersAfter last night’s treadmill workout, I woke up at the crack of dawn in the best kind of a mood. Who am I? Why was I awake so early? I decided to listen to my body and just get up out of bed, have some breakfast and then put on some comfy clothes before heading out the door to drive to beautiful Santana Row to run some errands. Definitely missing my old CrossFit Waterloo gym, so I decided to represent them today around town.

Santana-RowIsn’t it beautiful?

AnthropologieI’m really trying to find some nice olive green towels for our bathrooms, but they’ve proven to be difficult to find in a shade that I want. So I got fed up and went into Anthropologie. Even though I love going to Anthropologie and it’s one of my favourite stores, I’m starting to realize that World Market has a lot of similar items that Anthro has, but without the jacked up prices. I’m excited about this, because I can scope things out I like at Anthro and get them for cheaper. Both places have really cute towels, and great smelling hand creams.

lululemon wunder undersI headed over to Lululemon to see if they had any of the Wunder Unders in stock since they were all out of my size online. Luckily, Santana Row’s Lululemon had them in stock. I bought them as a very early birthday gift to myself. My birthday is in May. Ohhh well.

Yoga at LululemonThat’s also where I found out that they offer complimentary yoga, and running groups — not only that they are having a CrossFit elements class on Sunday morning if anyone is interested in attending, just phone the store.

Jamba-Juice-Chocolate-MoodShortly after I met up with Jessica and we grabbed a Jamba Juice together while browsing around. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Chocolate Moo’d tastes exactly like a Wendy’s Frosty. So good. I’m excited for this evening though, because both of us are going to a blogger-meet up in another city. Hopefully I’ll meet some new people that way too.

Balance BarThen on the drive home I dug into one of my many delicious Balance Bars. S’mores is the only way to go.

What’s your flavour at Jamba Juice?

My Favourite Eye Creams

ikea working deskSkin care is an important daily activity of mine that I don’t like to skip. From applying sunscreen, facial moisturizers and eye creams. I’m a huge fan of taking care of my skin and by doing so I drink a ton of water throughout the day. Probably four water bottles. Which probably is just average. Whatever. That’s my Philosophy water bobble (that I scored from Blissdom).

I haven’t tried out too many eye creams, and lucked into a few that I’ve stuck with over the past 5 years or so. Probably because I went big and not home. #GoBigOrGoHome. Is hashtagging while blogging a thing? Is that fine, or weird? I can’t tell. Yet.

My-Favorite-Eye-CreamsLet’s get back to the subject of the day. My favourite eye creams I’ve tested, have and will still repurchase. These two? I’ll always repurchase.

Eye creams will last me anywhere from 6-8 months. I apply them definitely once a day, in the mornings and try to remember to use it at night too.

Miracle-Worker-Eye-CreamPhilosophy Miracle Worker retinoid eye repair ($66US / $78CDN) — it’s lightweight gentle eye cream that has HPR (retinoid) which supposedly targets fine lines and wrinkles. Gotta be honest, I don’t think any cream will cure skin problems. I just really want to keep my skin hydrated instead of sucked dry like it usually would be.

Miracle Worker sampleI use about 1/4 to 1/2 pump of this and recently opened a new bottle of it. It was hard to tell when I was getting low on product, but with the consistent half pump of product, it lasted me 11 months. I’m not sure how that’s possible, but I do recall opening it up last February and raving about it at Blissdom to the Philosophy crew, telling them how long it’s been going! Buy it at Sephora!

Bobbi-Brown-Extra-Eye-RepairBobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream ($69US / $80CDN). Not to be mistaken with the Hydrating Eye Cream that they sell at Sephora. I’ve had to buy this stuff at Holt Renfrew while living in Ontario, or at a Bobbi Brown counter in Macy’s from now on.

Bobbi-Brown-eye-cream-openThis is a bit on the thicker, and heavier side. Perfect for someone who wants to just use it as a night cream or has dry skin. This hydrates my eye area so intensely, I kind of want to open the new jar of it tonight. It feels much more luxurious but not as easy to use since you have to dip your finger into the glass pot. I haven’t used this since 2012 but I bought the Philosophy and the Bobbi Brown on the same day last February and I’ve just never really rotated for fear of one of the two drying out. So it’s still sittin’ pretty in its box. Patiently waiting for me to open it.

On my plate

Guess you can classify this as a “What I Ate Wedensday” sort of post. Except this is an accumulation of meals I’ve been eating since moving to the sunny state. The produce here in California is unreal. I’ve never been much of an orange eater, mainly because they’re not as flavourful and juicy as I’d like.

orangeI dug into one the other day and it was probably the best orange I’ve had in my entire life. Not even a little bit of an exaggeration. Those little orange suckers are just looking for a way in my shopping cart each week, I just know it. Sneaky buggers.
