Minor upgrades to spiffykerms

I’m not that computer savvy. I’ve been blogging with the WordPress platform since I switched over a few years ago, from editing my site in HTML and re-uploading the main.html file EVERY time I wanted to do a blog entry. Crazy huh?

So whenever anyone tells me that there are some neat plugins for my site, I jump at the chance. Especially if it’s going to improve the quality and accessibility to my website.

Erin who blogs over at ButterNWhiskey (love that name by the way) mentioned a new-to-me plugin called nrelate, and thank the lord they have a step-by-step guide on how to search for it, download and install it. It literally took about 16 seconds to do it all.

Now you can see at the bottom of each blog post entry, related posts with 4 images/links. YAY!

I like that little change I’ve added to my website, so thanks Erin and thanks nrelate for creating a fun plugin. I had no idea it was that easy.

  1. I like related post links. Though I have to admit – I find it hard to find the “Leave a comment” part on your site if I haven’t been in awhile. It just looks like one of the tags so I scroll up and down a few times before finding it.

Nancy says: Omg you make a good point. I never thought of the tags interfering with finding where to comment. Ack. I wonder how I can change it. I’ll look into it, thanks!

  2. Nancy, I really like the related links at the bottom. I think this is great for new readers that come to your blog to check your other posts that relate to the post.

  3. I love that plugin! I’m going to have to install it on my site someday. Right now I’m a site slacker though and don’t have enough entries for it to be interesting :( I love WordPress now though, at first I couldn’t stand it, but now that I’ve gotten used to it and I’ve found themes I can customize more easily it’s started to grow on me. Plus I love the Pinterest plugin I just discovered.
