A little thursday random

I mentioned yesterday, that I would tell you which of the four cars (rather, colors) I like best. You honestly don’t know how much this is going through my head. When I eat breakfast, I’m thinking about it. When I’m working I get distracted while thinking about it. I honestly don’t really know which one I’d go for. I saw a few black Mazda 3 sedans and totally didn’t like them, so I know that’s off the list right now. I love the white sedan, but the sedan’s aren’t practical for me at this time. Especially if I’m going to be moving a few more times,  and I’m definitely moving in August. So, a hatchback is just generally a better idea. I like the white hatch … I think. But the black I have yet to see in person. So hopefully, I can do that and rule it out like the black sedan lol. I also don’t know if I’m going to get a 2010, or a used one. The 2010 is a new model, and naturally with newer models, they haven’t gotten all the kinks/bugs out of them. So I think it’s best if I steer clear of the ’10s. Not 100% yet.

Soccer has started up with a vengeance. Practices are on Thursday’s, and our first exhibition game is on Sunday. But then this morning I was checking my e–mail and saw that on my other league I just joined, we have a game tomorrow night on top of all of that. Well, I’m not heading out to practice tonight, because I’ve been staying up pretty late the last few nights and I need to do an ass load of laundry. I e–mailed a guy to see if he could pick me up for tomorrow’s game. If not, I’m just going to have to e–mail the players and be like “Sorry b’ys, can’t make it yet, no ride until someone comes to pick me up.” lol…lame.

I saw State Of Play last night with the BF. We had free movie passes from a cereal box (huzzah!), so I clipped those buggers out and we went to see it. Russel Crowe is in the movie, and has a Newfoundland friend, who just so happens to be in a band that you may all know once I mention it lol. At the beginning of the movie Russel Crowe was driving and flickin’ his hands on the steering wheel like a bongo drum … and the music? Great Big Sea — The Night Pat Murphy Died. Seriously, you have to click on the link and listen to it. It will automatically bring your spirits up. You guys, I was SO excited when I heard that song. That’s big news for us newfies! I was actually doing a mini–jig in my seat, stomping my foot on the floor and slapping my hand on my knee, getting RIGHT into the music. That excited. Thankfully the theatre wasn’t all that busy on a Wednesday night. I’m sure people heard me get all giddy and excited for the guys. Way to go!

This week is going by terribly slow for me. I want it to be the weekend. I think I’m going to end up going to Toyota and test driving a corolla S, or XRS. Those are so beautiful in white.

Have a good day!

Time to narrow it down…

I’m a bit partial to the Mazda 3’s right now, as you may have already been able to tell. So I want to do a fun poll for my readers and ask you which car you would choose to purchase? I’ll submit my vote sometime tomorrow :) This is so exciting for me, having it narrowed down to two cars, and well four choices. hehe! (These are not the exact cars from a dealership around town, so don’t like look at the specifics like the spoiler on the 2nd car down … It’s not exact). I only test drove something similar to choice #2, the Mazda 3 sedan in white with tan interior. Do you know that the hatchbacks are actually more expensive than the sedans? Isn’t that weird? I guess the Mazda 3 hatchbackspeed‘ has much more horsepower as well, which could be a good thing for me ;)

Choice #1 — Mazda 3 sedan (black)

Choice #2 — Mazda 3 sedan (white)

Choice #3 — Mazda 3 hatchback (black)

Choice #4 — Mazda 3 hatchback (white)

Say WHA?

I’m a bit angry this morning. While trying to keep busy on the sketchy second bus I take in the mornings to get to work, I was playing on my blackberry. I saw that I got an e–mail from management saying a certain co–worker wouldn’t be in. This co–worker JUST got back from vacation (I thought it was Cuba), and then I was chatting to a man I work with and actually dreamt I had swine flu last night. I was like “AHHHH” for a second, until my co-worker told me that the woman who is sick today, was IN MEXICO. She’s got the flu. She’s home with the flu and just got back from Mexico. Let me tell you, I’m not even joking when i say I’m going to avoid her at all costs when she comes back into the office. I mean, the media is telling everyone to avoid that place at all costs and then people just go vacation there? She better not even sneeze at the office or I will flip out. I dunno, I think it’s irresponsible if anyone comes back with a possible slim case of even contracting the swine flu, especially since they were directly in Mexico themselves, and then coming to work. She better take care of herself and NOT come to work until there isn’t any trace of even a runny nose. Anyway, apparently she’s at the Doctor’s now getting all checked out.

Sigh.

On a much lighter note. I am in desperate need of new running shoes. I think I purchased my last pair in 2004, and the soles are actually wearing through. I was telling my Mom these details of my running shoes and mentioning the ones I thought would be a good buy, and what she said seriously shocked me and I couldn’t stop laughing. I literally went “LOL” obnoxiously on gmail chat until I couldn’t see the words she wrote. (Mature?)  I guess I don’t actually tell my parents that much about my non–existent athletics, because I am sure she assumed I kept up the running since I was doing a bunch of it last year training for my mere 5km road race back in September.I mean she gave me a water belt for running for Christmas. :/ Oops.

I was talking with her on Gmail chat talking about running shoes of course, and she wrote:  “Are you going to join the track club this year, or do any marathons?”

See that last word there?

MARATHON?

Is she crazy?

Does she not know how much dedication and hard work goes into actually preparing for a marathon? If I was training for a marathon, I think the whole world would know. I’m one of those people that needs to tell 500 people that I’m doing it, so that if I don’t do it, I feel like a failure. I’m sorry if that sounds wrong. But it’s how I work. It’s how I get motivated. “I told this person I was going to do it and I am!” Yah. Going from a 5k to a marathon in that little time? Buddy, the 5k race did me in and I said I’d never run again (which I actually didn’t. I didn’t run after my 5k race). It was HARD! I know exactly how difficult it may seem as I watch my boyfriend do endless hours of training on his bike, running, and swimming getting ready for his tri’s, and even half-marathons at the beginning of the season. Ridiculous! It’s not for me. Not yet anyway. I like to take things slow, and work myself up and try and convince myself that I could do a 10k and not die at the end.

All in all, I think getting new sneakers that fit me, will make my feet more happy and perhaps a little more likely to hit the pavement. But no marathons for me. Just iddy biddy races, for now. (Next September. Heh heh)…
