Cat and mouse

I have my down payment for my car sitting in my savings account as we speak, accumulating interest on a monthly basis. No word yet on a used Mazda 3 hatch in the GS/GT model. I benefit greatly working at a Financial Institution, I can get all the insider’s report on what a car (whether it be new/used) is worth. I love having a network of Lending Department Manager’s at hand. It certainly helps a new buyer like me out, a whole lot.

I did however, contact a Mazda dealership in Burlington asking if they had the certain model that I was looking for, still in stock. I saw they had one listed on autotrader. But I’ve gotta tell you, these car sales people are desperate for a sale! Awesome! I pretty much shot down the offer that B (salesman in Burlington) wanted to list with a big fat “omfg that’s a ridiculous price. There is no way.” yet he’s still persistent, e-mailing me every few days for a chat. That’s a good sign. Especially on a car that is so darn popular around here. I see mostly charcoal, grey and silver Mazda 3’s driving around in the tri–city here, but not so much the white ones. They’re the prettiest :)

Oh he wants that sale. I replied to him that I wasn’t in a hurry (total B.S. — I want that car now!) and are presently monitoring the inventory at the local dealerships. I also asked him to please keep me posted of any new arrivals or any sales or promotions. Sigh. Sometimes being patient is a pain in the hole.

I feel like half the city is looking out for me, for my very explicit specifications: Used Mazda 3 sport GS or GT, 2006 or newer  with automatic transmission. Interior has to be white with black interior, and a sunroof would be a plus. On Thursday I called my co–workers son who owns a used car dealership and had a conference call with him and his Mom (my co–worker). It seemed to go well. Let’s hope it comes sooner than later!

Completion

Remember how I said I was taking an online course and wouldn’t post for a week due to immense study time? Well the due date for the exam is tomorrow, June 5 and of course I didn’t know if June 5 was the day that they still keep accepting the exams, or if it was the cut off date. So, me being little miss organized I decided not to chance it and submit my answers pretty much last minute, to get in a much needed cram session. After hearing that my boss scored 97% with one answer just wrong I decided to make sure absolutely every question I had was positively correct in my head. Plus, my boss did a completely different course than I, but we were taking online courses at the exact same time. Just so, ya’know. So I submitted my answers not even 10 minutes ago.

How did I do?

92% baby! I only got two answers wrong. I think it’s time to celebrate!

Post weekend wrap up on humpday

transitionOops! I totally forgot to tell you guys what I did this weekend. Mainly Sunday though because Saturday was just full of fail. I was so sleep deprived on Sunday since we went to bed so late preparing for my boyfriend’s first tri of the season, and we also had to wake up at 6AM in order to get to the race on time, which was pretty close to Toronto.

The race was a disaster. We had to park about what seemed 4km’s away from the site with all of his bike, swim and run gear. Of course, I was the one burdened down with it all afterward, carrying it all around during the race so I wouldn’t miss a snap shot of my guy. I just didn’t want to have to walk back to the car and back to the race site, because I think I did that last year and missed him on the bike!

It was such a nasty day out too. It was incredibly gusty and the wind was enough to knock me down some times. I couldn’t imagine what it was like in the water! Poor boyfriend got a few mouthfuls of water coming in to the final leg of the swim, and didn’t do as well as he had hoped for the 750 meter.

My boyfriend mentioned he, and everyone else didn’t go as fast due to the incredibly windy day on the 30km bike. He said it literally felt dangerous. Plus there were a bunch of new racers (of course — being that it is the beginning of the race season) and they wouldn’t listen to the other athletes on the road. Ignoring commands such as “ON YOUR LEFT” when you’re trying to pass a person. You can see my boyfriend sprinting to the finish line in one of the photos I posted below. There, the guy actually some what pushed him into the sponsor banners, unknowingly.  And whatta ya know, he was a newbie. (Boyfriend is in the grey suit).

I failed at getting photos too, because people kept stepping out into the road (HUGE pet peeve) and blocking my view. Hence the photo of boyfriend’s blurry and only bike snap shot of the race. Boo!! I now leave you with some photos. (Such a negative post, lol sorry!)
