Perfect pink

It’s been months later, but I think I finally found an adorable shade of white/pink nail polish. I know I posted my previous perfect pink shade back in February, but that required a butt load of coats and the quality seemed poor. Of course knowing me, I’ll never be pleased and will always be on the lookout for a better shade. But as of right now I feel content with this polish.

I haven’t bought Essie polish before, but while I was coming home from work on Tuesday I decided I wanted an emery board to file my nails that keep cracking off (!!!! Obviously really annoying). While I was wandering around the store, I noticed the Essie polishes were on sale for four bucks off.

I’m a tester before I’m a buyer. So, of course before purchasing this at the drug store I need to open all the polishes and apply one swatch on my nail to see if I’m going to fork my money over for it. I know that places that sell OPI will not allow you and if they catch you they’ll ask you not to. Which I didn’t know, at first. OOPS.

Let’s get on with it shall we? Enough of this jibber jabber.

pink

Above, is a shot without the flash and I think it looks so perfect. It looks great in the photo doesn’t it? I wish it looked that almost cream white pink on my nails but I think that I’m being over analytical and it’s more pink on my nails, unfortch.corn

And this … I had a snack before supper last night. Ontario corn on the cob is great on it’s own, I mean I didn’t need to put salt/pepper/butter or a stitch of seasoning on these corn! They’re just as sweet on their own, straight out of the boiling water. The pink polish looks like this on my hands. The purpose of the corn shot was to show my nails with the flash of the camera, but anytime I took a photo of my nails straight on, the flash blinded my hand and made me look ghostly.

So yea. I’m still on the hunt for my favorite shade. I’ll never be satisfied! But I think this will do, for now.

It’s Friday? I can’t relax yet, tomorrow morning we’re moving everything from my apartment to my boyfriends, 300 meters away: my computer desk, my double sized bed, my ikea coffee table that I LOVE but scratches easily, a cheap particle board book case that I can’t dear to part with and lastly my favorite night stand (also from Ikea) that looks so miniature, but it’s super adorbs. (Ugh, can’t find a photo online!) Even though I said I already moved last weekend. The big stuff isn’t gone yet.

REST TIME needs to come sooner :P

nfflagTen more days until IRONMAN CANADA. Ten more days until I wave my Newfoundland flag around like a lunatic and cheering people on as they haul ass. I had all sorts of plans to make a tank top or t-shirt with “TEAM (Boyf’s last name)” on the back of it. But I fail at being creative lately. I probably shouldn’t say that as I’m a Graphic Designer and being creative is what I do for a living. But, y’know.

Do you know the distance of an Ironman? Well let me inform you on these insane, threatening major details of the race. My boyf will start off (wearing one of those one piece tri suits that look like wrestling outfits) with a 3.86 kilometre swim. Kill me now right? I mean I can’t even swim 350 meters right now — wait wait back it up. I can’t even jog that far continuously without getting wheezy. But that’s why he’s the triathlete and I’m the couch potato soccer player. At the moment he’s trying to decide whether or not to jump in at the start with everyone else all the 2,300 competitors at once in one wave, or wait an extra ten minutes (which, really isn’t that big of a deal on a 13 hour race! Right? Maybe I’m wrong.) and jump in semi-comfortably. After being kicked in the jaw a few times during that dreadful painful swim he then has to go fetch his tri bike (Kuota Kalibur ow ow!) and start peddling for a full 6 straight hours until he finishes the 180.25 kilometre bike ride. Ya. Insane. I’ll probably take a few photos of him hopping on his bike, then go back to the hotel for a NAP! Yes, you heard me correctly. There’s two mountains that he’ll have to climb during the bike course which he’s already talking about, which also worries me quite a bit. Mountains are tough babies. Ah, and after you’ve swam and biked those distances without a pee break? Get ready to … barf your guts up. Apparently it’s ‘the norm’, as your body is pushing itself in ways you couldn’t believe. Imagine running a marathon after all of that? A full 42.2 kilometer run! Ouch.

I’ll happily be cheering from the sidelines. Plus, the fact that I haven’t been west of Ontario, ever. This should be quite the experience. After the race I can’t wait to taste test out some of the winery’s in the Okanagan valley. I’ll be bringing my laptop as I‘m too addicted to leave it home we’ll probably need it to scope out some hotels while we’re there.

What I’m wearing: to work (2)

aug17

Yesterday I was in a dilemma. I lost all of my work clothes. I had to scrounge up clothing that I wasn’t used to wearing (ie: skirt) and put something presentableaug18 together for work. Thankfully, I had a work shirt already stored at the new place and I came up with this measily outfit.

Earrings: Forever21 (silver balls) $4.80 for a set of 3
Bracelet: Aerie
Shirt: $25~ ish at Ricki’s
Skirt: $25 at a random boutique by my place
Shoes: Ordered in 2007 online from Brown’s Store. Seychelle’s is the brand name.

Outfit #2 (on your right) was chosen after I had found all my summer work clothes and I remembered that I didn’t put together a “outfit of the day” to post here, in a while. So I decided to get a bit more decked out than I usually do and snap a photo. This my friends is what I’m wearing today. I think my outfit is a little too long looking. I have no idea what to wear this pink shirt with. It’s probably not work appropriate as it’s sort of a halter, but I slung on the cheapie white jacket and called it a day. I’d normally just wear this pink thing on it’s own with some short shorts. But we can’t do that for office attire, now can we?

On with the show people… on with the show, right?

Earrings: Forever21 (silver balls) $4.80 for a set of 3 same as yesterday
Necklace: Forever 21 ($6.80)
Shirt: Very expensive, full price at Guess in Toronto two summers ago
Jacket: Costa Blanca (2008)
Capri’s: Mexx
Shoes: Same as yesterday. Boring!

I didn’t want to wear any gladiators with this as I only have two pairs and didn’t want to be too matchy match with the pink gladiators and the other pair are teal…??!
