My CrossFit Journal (week 30)

Week 30 Day 1.

25 minute time limit, 4 Rounds:
400m Run
15 Thrusters (95/65) I used 40lbs, I usually use 45 but I felt tired this day.
15 Pullups

I didn’t end up finishing the four complete rounds. I was on my fourth round and I had just started the thrusters. I did two and the timer went off.

Week 30 Day 2.

5 rounds 25 minute time limit
50 Double Under I did 100 skips because it’s impossible for me to do double unders right now.
3 Hang Clean; 135/95lbs  I used 30lbs for everything below
3 Front Squat
3 Push Press
3 O/H Squat
3 Back Squat
3 Back Push Press
25 Paralett Jumps

I think I could’ve easily done over 30lbs for the workout. Except the kicker was the overhead squats. A lot of people can’t lift the same weight as they normally would. So i left it at 30lbs. I finished the WOD in exactly 20 minutes. The coach was surprised to see me done, and I was for SURE done my five rounds. I suggested I do another round just in case, but he said I didn’t have to, lol? :/

What is this blog about?

Most of the time I have a scheduled layout of what I blog about each day.

Some may see weekly routines that I post up, but some may not. When I first started this blog a long long time ago, I didn’t have a plan or direction. But I started to settle down quickly when people kept asking me what my blog was about. So today I decided to dedicate this blog post about … well, what my blog is about!

I like to summarize it all into “food, fashion, and fitness“. Here, let me give you a clearer example of a weekly breakdown.

  • Wednesday: I like to break up wordy posts within the week so I try and do a Wordless Wednesday just including photos. [Wordless Wednesday posts]
  • Friday: My favorite day of the week! I post what I wore to work that week. It’s fun! [OOTWW posts]
  • Saturday: Weekly CrossFit workouts get posted on Saturday mornings.  [Weekly CrossFit workouts]

Then of course on the other days I post a bunch of other things like my San Diego trip, recipes I’ve enjoyed, or even product reviews.

OOTWW

I have to admit. I’m getting a little slack with coming up with OOTWW clothing. I don’t get my entire work week outfits ready on Sunday’s anymore (gasp). I often do it the night before and let me tell you, some days I feel like a kindergartener whose Mom is colorblind and dressing me. Do you know what I’m getting at because sometime I suck at explaining things. Today happens to be one of those days. 

I find that summer/spring I can easily account for. But when Fall and Winter hits, I wear a lot of dress pants which are usually dark and not so slim-fitting. Pair that with a dark shirt and a cardigan and you’ve got bulk. Not fashionable or stylish. Brown, brown and navy is what I wore on Thursday. I didn’t like it. I don’t know how to dress myself for fall without wearing skinny pants all the time. I LOVE ME SOME SKINNIES. Especially with a baggier top/sweater and some cute boots. I can’t wear that everyday. Some days I just want to wear trouser pants. But I don’t feel I’ve “got it” yet.

Friday rant is over. I went climbing last night for the third time since the gym opened. I think next week I’ll have a post up to tell you a little bit about climbing, with some awesome photos. You’ll like it, I know you will.

Also? I haven’t used my hair straightener since August. That’s not very long, but it’s long to me when I used to use it every day. Maybe I should write a blog post about that too hey?
