Getting your eyes checked

I have always wanted eyeglasses as a kid, but i never went as far as to lie when reading off the charts. Apparently I have a bit of astigmatism which hasn’t been that bad as my eye sight is still better than 20/20. My right eye is keeping everything in check. Though, since I work at a computer each and every day — I’ll have to get them checked out once again. I can’t recall the last time I went to an eye doctor, and I’d bet it was more than 4 years ago.

I was reading this Zenni Optical article and it’s pretty crazy how expensive a great set of frames will run you. However, it is possible to get quality eyeglasses for a low cost. I mean, that’s what this site is all about, right? Saving people money!

With Zenni there’s no middle man which means that there isn’t any retail overhead. They haven’t been advertising much since they don’t really have a budget for it — I mean they leave it to us, the customers to spread the word. So if you’re on the lookout for a new set of frames, perhaps you will think about Zenni’s glasses when you’re shopping around. Can’t hurt.

That’s all for now folks!

Old habits die hard

Alfie is spoiled.

Ever since giving him a full can (over the course of two and a half weeks) of wet puppy food, mixed in with his dry, he hasn’t been eating or “being on schedule” for the last few days. I was determined to make him eat his food, so I hand fed him. Pathetic, right? He needs to eat! He’s a growing pup and his bones need to get good and strong as he grows. So he sat in my lap as I fed him and he gently took the food from my fingers, until the bowl was clean.

I know that giving your dog wet food isn’t advised, but our veterinarian mentioned we should just give him a taste (I guess a can was little more than a taste. But at $3.09 + tax a can I’m not throwing it away!) in case he ever had to eat it later on in life. I’m sure NO dogs would have any trouble gobbling that pure goodness down. Filled with fat, chicken, peas, potatoes. It smelled so good I almost wanted to eat it.

Scott said it looked like vomit. Which turned me off it immediately, thinking I wanted to eat part of it with Alfie. Kidding kidding.

Today I had to hand feed him once again. I think he’s catching on that if he doesn’t eat, he’ll be able to sit in my lap and enjoy being hand fed. This is going to definitely come to a halt, pppreeetty soon. I’m pretty sure he thinks he’s on the best cholesterol medication!

Gym mis-haps

what-gives

On days that I go to the gym, or have a gym session scheduled, I write it down on my desktop calendar at work. If I don’t attend the fitness class it gets whited out and forgotten and maybe a bit of guilt in there too. But what I don’t like is that when I view my class schedule online, that I HAVE attended it says that I was absent. What’s up with that? That’s not right and I know I attended on January 25, since it wasn’t whited out on my calendar.

It may be nit-picky of me, but I’m not one for a “no-show” and not cancel my spot online. We’re supposed to register online for classes, and if you’re not registered — you probably won’t get in, because the spots fill up fast. Or, if you can’t make it — you should cancel your classes. Which is what I always do.

Just a little thing that irks me. I want them to change it to “signed in” like all my other classes!

Check out today. I’m already absent and the class hasn’t even started.

Sad day.

I guess this is why I’ve been keeping track of my gym progress elsewhere since their site seems to be unreliable for correct information.
