Antipodes is a brand I reached out to, because I was genuinely interested in trying out. They are a New Zealand based natural, certified organic skincare + makeup brand that definitely knows their stuff. As I get older, the more I want to simplify my makeup routine, and focus more on protecting the ageing of my skin (preferably slowing it down as much as possible), and keeping it plump, hydrated and as healthy as it can be. Although, it all comes down to the fact of what you put in your body, not just topically with lotions and potions. But I won’t ramble on about how one needs to maintain a healthy diet/workout regime.
It’s going to take me a while to try out these products one by one, and genuinely give my honest feedback, if you’ve been following me on twitter or instagram you know I’ve been having a daily hive breakout for over a month. I have a high standard when it comes to reviewing products, either I reach out to the brands I’d like to work with, or I say yes to the brands I already know and trust. Then again there’s the odd time where I try something new, because that’s always fun.
First up, the easiest product to talk about, a hand and body cream:
Good golly, I will probably be out of this cream in no time. It’s the Jubilation hand and body cream suited to most skin conditions, especially dry. Not to mention, hoooooboy their packaging — they got it all down pat, let me tell you that much. Kinda ritzy looking, right? I feel fancy yet a bit like a guinea pig trying all these goodies out, mainly due to the fact that I sometimes go ahead and apply products to one side of my face, or one leg and not the other, and so on. It’s what I did the first time using the Jubilation cream. It sunk into my skin quickly and I didn’t apply it to the other leg at all — checking the status of the moisturization, and it felt smooth the entire day. I swear it lasted 10+ hours, I was definitely feelin’ up the right leg of mine quite a bit.
The scent is something I have never smelled before in my entire life. It’s a combo of pure plant fragrance of fig, feijoa and wild blackcurrant. So smoosh that together in your brain and imagine the scent. Can ya do it? You guys might already know that I don’t like anything vanilla/too sweet, and more of a natural, fresh, or spa like scent to it. I feel like this hand and body cream is unisex as it has a bit of a musky undertone to it.
Here’s the kicker:Â it’s $45 USD. Ouch. However, a nice splurge for yourself once in a while, right? To be honest, I don’t know if I love the product to drop that much money on it, but it certainly is a nice treat. And that cream spillage in the picture? It was totally used up on my hands after I was done photographing it.

I will be interested to see your final opinion about these products. Sometimes it is worth spending extra money if a product really works and the ingredients are healthy.I have found that often the more expensive products last longer because they do such a great job of moisturizing and being absorbed by the skin.
My skin is terrible right now! I don’t know what I’ve got, whether it’s an allergy, or acne, but it sucks! These products sound soothing, so I wouldn’t mind giving them a try, especially if they don’t dry out the skin.

I have never heard of this company before. Their products look very good and high-quality. I know that good skincare products cost a lot of money, sometimes. Unfortunately, the price is way too high for my budget.
@Christi from sexymoxiemama.com: Not everything from Antipodes is priced as high as the hand cream. I understand my taste for some items I show on my blog can seem a bit pricey, but I follow the motto ‘less items of excellent quality are always worth more’. So that way I know what I LOVE and really works, because I don’t have a hoard of beauty products.

I’ve never heard of this brand before, but it definitely sounds nice to get for a splurge. I’m always looking for natural, and preferably organic, products to use on my face and body to help with aging. I just turned 30 so keeping my skin looking it’s best is something I try to do all of the time now.
@Danielle K: Perhaps you hadn’t heard of them before, because I think they’re a small(er) company primarily based out of New Zealand! Isn’t that super cool??

As I have gotten older I have been trying to do more natural and organic products. These sounds like it would be a great cream. I try to spend less than that most times but for a good product and a treat to me it would be worth it.

This is the first time I heard about Antipodes. I love that their products are organic and it’s great that they worked for you. I don’t think that I could splurge on them, though. They are too pricey.
@Ourfamilyworld: I guess it’s safe to say I’m more spendy with my skincare products than anything else, so I don’t mind putting in the extra dough there, with regards to elsewhere!

oh I’m interested to hear about all of their products when you get to them. I have SUPER sensitive skin and break out in hives and eczema all the time from almost everything – unless it has steroids. Which I am so sick of putting on my body at this point in time. I’ll be following along to hear any new updates you have

I’ve never been much for hand or body cream. I have oily skin, so I never feel the need to use lotion. However, this does sound nice. I’d love to smell what you’re describing, but at $45 a tube, I’m not sure I’d be buying.

I have to try Antipodes hand and body cream. The hands are so dry; almost scaly. Whenever I take a closer look on my hands, I feel embarrassed. My hands look much older than my actual age, that’s why I don’t really take picture of my hands (no picture of pretty ring I just bought, boohoo). It seems like this condition can be remedied by applying Antipodes hand and body cream. Thanks for sharing with us!

I’ve started looking at more organically based skincare too. I don’t want any more wrinkles, and moisture is key to wrinkle prevention, right? I think those fancy products do work better, but the price tag is high. Maybe not $45 high, but definitely higher than I’d like to pay for the rest of my life. The woes of being a girl……
