No stopping me

This afternoon after work, I’m going to try and go on my run with the class. For the first time since I joined the running group I have only missed one class (this past Tuesday). I pulled my groin inside leg at soccer. I hate the g-word. It seems to be getting a little bit better each day, and I don’t want to stop my training since the 5k run is less than a month away and I’d rather not lose any endurance that I have created going 2x a week.

As much as I enjoy soccer, I am debating whether or not it’s necessary. It’s really hard on the body, and whenever I go out onto the field, there’s no holding “legs” back. I love to give it my all and outrun everyone I can, which in turns hurts my ankle and pulls a muscle — all within a year. I don’t want to be doing physio my entire adult life, and I don’t want to keep doing this if I’m going to get hurt all of the time, and I certainly don’t want to be relying on any sort of apidexin.

I don’t enjoy running as much as I love soccer, yet. But I’m hoping once I run a few small races this year, my attitude will change.
