My CrossFit Journal (Year 2 Week 28)

This isn’t really a CrossFit journal from last week because I ended up at the climbing gym more often than the CrosssFit box. I renewed my monthly membership at the climbing gym because I’ve missed it so much. I’ve only really been bouldering but still building up my endurance on the powerhouses of boulder caves. Just sticking to extremely easy problems and just climbing up and down climbing without stopping until my forearms feel pumped so much I need to jump off the wall.

year 2, week 28, day 1

EMOM 14
Even: 3 C2B Pull up + 2 Strict Pull ups
ODD: 30sec V-Out Hold (accumulative hold)

3 Rounds (12min T.L.)
400m Run
21 KB Swings; 24/16kg
21 Box Jumps; 24/20

I did end up ding the Rx for the three rounds but I didn’t end up completing it all in the twelve minutes. I don’t even recall how far I got (definitely in the second round lol) because I failed to write it down. Oops.

Then I climbed two different nights.

Kind of a boring update for my readers, I realize that. But Monday’s are usually like this – to keep myself updated on what I accomplish throughout the weeks. Plus, I can always look back and see what I did from week-to-week and move up in weight at CF if I feel like it. Know what I mean? :)

My CrossFit Journal (Year 2, week 12)

Holy quacamole. So many power cleans this week at CrossFit. I ended up getting an unexpected number during those and I hit the 100lb mark! I was pretty surprised and happy about that.

Now, let’s start off with last week’s WOD re-caps.

The short:

Sunday — Rest
Monday — Rest
Tuesday — CrossFit
Wednesday — CrossFit
Thursday — Rest
Friday — CrossFit
Saturday— Rest

The long:

year 2, week 12, day one

3 rounds:
12 toes to bar
1 minute tuck hold

RX: 30 burpee Muscle Ups
Sc: GI Jane: 100 burpee pullups

I don’t remember the time limit for this, but I ended up doing scaled obviously, and completed 66 burpee pullups.

year 2, week 12, day two

Power Cleans
3-3-3-3-3

What I completed:  Yep I completed two more sets than I was “supposed” to. 70lbs – 75lbs – 80lbs – 85lbs – 90lbs – 95lbs – 100lbs

For time:
100 double unders

21-15-9
Ring Dips
Front Rack Lunge
100 Double Unders

I think we had a 25 min time limit for this. I got to the last round, and did 50 double unders but realized it was slowing me down so I did 250 single skips there after. So… did I complete it? I have no idea.

year 2, week 12, day three

“Death by HSPU”
1st minute = 1 HSPU
2nd min = 2 HSPY
If 6rds is not completed finish with 7 burpees every minute until 10th round

I ended up doing burpees on starting the 5th round.

-Rest 2 minutes-

Annie

My CrossFit Journal (Year 1, week 14)

Oh dear. It’s been AGES since I did a CrossFit weekly post. Apologies!! I’ve been a slacker.

What I did this week? See below!

______________________________________________

year 1, week 14, day one

5×3 – Clean Pulls

3×3 – Tempo Dead Lift
*3 seconds from ground to knee on way up, 3 seconds from full hip extension to knee on way down

AMRAP 10
200m Sprint
15 Hollow Rocks
30 sec. Superman Hold

For the AMRAP I completed almost 4 full rounds. The buzzer went off and I had 4 seconds left to hold my Superman pose. I did it anyway. It was a tough WOD on the abs. There were 2 guys in the class and 3 females including me. I loved being the second fastest runner (one of the guys was ahead) and the other guy swore to me: “Holy shit you’re fast!”. That is, until I burnt out on my 3rd round. Like I said, those abs… ugh it was wonderful.

year 1, week 14, day two

5 rounds

800m Run
30 Toes To Bar (T2B)

We had a 40 minute time limit for this WOD. I ended up doing the 5 complete rounds of running. I had 2 minutes to complete the 800m run as time was running out. I got back in 4. So obviously I didn’t finish the last set of 30 T2B’s.

I posted this picture of me right after I finished. I’m purple!!!

______________________________________________

year 1, week 14, day three

18min time limit

5 Rounds of:

12 Deadlifts; 155/105lbs
9 Hang Clean; 155/105lbs
6 Push Jerks; 155/105lbs

So I obviously didn’t do the prescribed workout since my weakness is in my shoulders. I ended up using 55lbs in total. I’m usually like a rotating helicopter with that weight over my head usually, and I wasn’t wobbly!

I’m surprised I did the full WOD. We only had 18 minutes for 5 rounds. Coach shouted out TEN SECONDS, as I had 2 push jerks left of my 5th round. Go the very last one up over my head as the timer buzzed. Sooo awesome. I felt great.

I felt so great I asked my boyf to take a photo of me flexing, hahahaha!! Check it out. I kinda love it. All that stuff in my left hand are screw drivers and my new license plate sticker for the year. Thursday was the last day to swap it out so I met him down there and he changed the sticker for me. Whatta guy.
