It’s time to a-go-go to the AGO

For Christmas, Scott’s parents generously bought each of us a year membership to the Art Gallery of Ontario, and I cannot wait for the day that we go! Especially since a new gallery was designed by the amazing architect Frank Gehry.

We’ve both been dying to go view the place, especially since they over–hauled it. Now that we have a membership, we don’t necessarily need to book off a full day and spend x amount on a day pass, and feel obligated to spend however many hours it takes to go see it all. Instead we can come and go as we please! Whoppiee! The next year membership that I’d like to receive (from anyone, not just his parents lol) is tickets to each theatre showing at the Stratford Theater. So addicting, and always a spectacular performance. Scott and I saw Cesar & Cleopatra (with Christopher Plummer from The Sound Of Music) for half the ticket price, because it was on Halloween night, and the other time I received an e-mail in my inbox and it said something ridiculous like “Get your tickets for $10 each, for tomorrow night” (the tickets to anything playing at the Stratford Theater is easily $100+ per ticket!), and so we saw Romeo & Juliet for twenty bucks! Is that not amazing?

I’m getting all cultured, living in Ontario :)

All under one roof

Even though I was delayed getting out of Ontario, and missed Christmas morning with my parents, I still lucked out. I was supposed to depart on the 23rd, but didn’t arrive in Newfoundland until December 27th. Flights were canceled due to storms, all over the country so I wasn’t the only one stranded and missing Christmas. Luckily, I didn’t spend it alone, and my boyfriend was with me so it wasn’t completely depressing :P We had a little pizza for our Christmas day turkey replacement.

Since there was such an uproar of all the Christmas mishap at the airports, Westjet allowed passengers to change their flight, free of charge for a longer stay! I opted for that opportunity, seeing how I didn’t see my brother for a year, and my Father hadn’t seen him in over 3 years (whoa, I know). The original plan was for me to head back to Ontario on January 6th in the very early morning, while my Brother was scheduled to arrive on the 6th in the PM. That’s how it worked out, and we thought we’d never see one another for another year or so. Cause, I mean … it’s pretty darn expensive to fly from Ontario to Ireland! Right?

So my brother got in on time on the 6th, and I re–booked my flight to leave in the early morning of the 8th. My parents the entertainers were going to have a little family reuninion/get–together while all four of us were under the same roof for once. We decided for a quiet evening in with just the four of us and some of my Mom’s amazing roast chicken dinner. It was a good time. Now I have to get my arse in gear and think about supper. Not bad, I really like to cook. I just wish I was back at home in NL, relaxing and … ahem, having supper served to me lol! I need an in house chef.

An opinion on bedframes

Loyal readers of mine, I need your help. I saw this beautiful bed frame online at a place called jysk, and found out that there wasn’t a store near me, so I called the closest store which happens to be in Hamilton. Not cool! Shipping to deliver to my city would’ve been $130! HAH. Is that not incredible? Obviously, I said thanks but no thanks, and hung up the phone. I found a pretty close replica of the bed frame on Ikea’s website! Huzzahh, love their discount furniture. I already have a few minor things from Ikea but I need your opinion on which color bed frame I should order! I already have the black/brown coffee table which will go in my bedroom at the foot of my bed (shown on your right), but I also have a super cute mini night table (on the left and I have to add that it looks so much nicer in person) in a different brown color! Here are the shades of the bed frame shown below!

Halp! I love them all!! I was thinking the black/brown color because it’s so nice and sleek, but the first one, the medium brown color looks warm and rich. Then the light color. Well isn’t that one just wonderful too? But I doubt I’d be purchasing that once since I’ll be throwing all my design ideas right out the window. I can’t have 3 different colors of wood surrounding my bed. That would just not look nice. Anyway I’m not sure. Hmm hmm hmm..
