Where I blog

k

First of all I want to wish my cute little nephew a Happy Third Birthday. Unfortch for me he’s in Ireland and he’ll just be getting a phone call from auntie nancy tonight. :) My brother is on his way back to Ireland as I write this. He flies to Newfoundland every three weeks to work out on the oil rigs, and then flies back to Ireland when his 3 week shift finishes. I keep telling him I don’t want to hear any more birth announcements and finding out I have MORE little nephews (I have 4 lol).

Ok. Back on topic. Where I blog.

I’m not sure if this has been done before, or not. But I’d like to know where people update their websites from! I actually updated this site, and my other one from three different places! First I will show you where I am on a computer for 8 hours a day— my work ! (Remember that the images are clickable if you want to enlarge them.)

desk

This is my desk at work — photos do no justice. It’s actually pretty big so I guess I suck at taking good perspective photos. The office that you see above, used to be my bosses corner office which she gladly traded an open room to give me her office. I was always chilly in the open area and she was always over heated in the office. Since we’re both opposites she snuck around one day and totally reversed our spaces! I have the best boss, ever. Even after two years of working here, it’s so great! I have an office DOOR, two windows and *ahem* it’s the second biggest office in the building and of course the CEO has the largest one. Doesn’t that make me feel awesome? I think so!

boyfs

Secondly, I usually read blogs on my boyfriend’s leather couch when I’m at his place and he’s either at the gym (while I sit on my butt!) or on the bike trainer in the other room. I like to relax after a long day of being on the computer, by unwinding on a computer. Now tell me that isn’t nerdy! It really does relax me. Either that or I’ll turn on the TV for an hour to relax while I’m prepping supper.

bedroom

Lastly, this is my desk in the house that I rent with another girl (we have another room mate who moved in, in April but we’ve seen her maybe three times?) K and I are moving out at the end of August, and the 3rd room mate who we don’t see have already signed a lease for the house with her friends. So maybe she’s waiting on that? I don’t really know. Anyway that was a bit off topic, but this is where I rarely blog from. I’m not really at the house very often and when I am, I’m rarely on the computer. I’d rather socialize with my room mate, and her cats or play the Wii!

So that pretty much sums up my nerd area. Though I’d like to know where do you all blog from too! Post your photos and let me know, I’d like to see! :)

I eats the food

I did so much healthy eating this weekend it’s ridiculous — in a good way of course. I was tempted by Susan’s food posts to make a pita sandwich for myself, so while I was at the grocery store I picked up some pitas that were on sale and jam–packed it with my chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and green pepper. I gotta say, my bread purchasing skills were at an all time low as my pita just completely fell apart like wet paper towels would and it was so incredibly messy to eat. That was unfortunate.

What are your recommendations for ‘sturdy’ pita bread?

On Saturday, boyfriend and I ended up going to the Mennonite market and I picked up 6 stalks of corn (the sweetest, juiciest corn I’ve ever tasted in my entire life) and also a huge hunk of free salmon. Don’t need to repeat that one twice! I actually ended up cooking all of the corn on Saturday night as I thought we were going to end up eating it on the beach on Sunday. A few people ended up bailing so I did too since I didn’t want to wake up at 7:30AM to go. Boyfriend decided to go regardless and while he was gone I devoured a few corn on the cob. Tee hee.

Last night we ended up eating the salmon, corn on the cob and some potatoes that I had left over in the fridge. It was fantastic, especially since we haven’t had a bit of salmon in weeks. My boyfriend isn’t a fan of corn on the cob (omg??? I know!), so since Saturday I polished off four of the six corn on the cob. Oink oink~ I don’t think I’ll be purchasing that many again in the future. Maybe one or two … stocks? Is that what they’re called?

Hmm.

I just hit a writers block, and don’t really know what else to tell you guys today… so I’m gonna head off!

Work attire

outfitSo this is my first attempt at publishing an outfit that I would wear on a daily basis to work. It’s business–casual and since I don’t deal directly with the public at the financial institution that I work at, I can be a bit more casual than my co–workers. Mind you, I feel quite more dressed up than the front line staff on some occasions. I blame that on me being more motivated as a young career woman as the people I work with are old enough to be my parents and probably  a bit bored in their fashion wardrobe senses.

Enough of that, let’s get to the first post! I wore this last Wednesday, or maybe it was  last Thursday. Either way it was 16 degrees (Celsius) which is “chilly” for a summery day here in Ontario so I opted for a pair of pants.

My purple shirt is from Dynamite clothing store (probably only available in Canada?) I bought this last summer and it’s definitely one of my staples and also one of my favorite shirts for summer (I totally just typed supper instead of summer, HA!). The price of the clothing at Dynamite is so reasonable and usually falls apart after a season of wear and tear. But this top has lasted a wee bit longer than that which makes me a happy consumer! I think this cost me $25.

The white pants are a recent purchase (and returned when the clasp broke, but re–bought again when on sale!) from the GAP. I think I bought it when they had a sale and 30% off so it came to $29.00 or so.

Damn I’m a good deal shopper. Let me tell you about the giraffe patterned shoes they came from the mall (obvs.) and it was buy one get one 50% off so the giraffe ones I ended up purchasing for $24.99.

Sweet deals yea? I think I look pretty polished! A co-worker even commented that I was “dressed up”. Funny, since I’d usually wear this whole outfit with a different pair of shoes and maybe white capri’s and nobody would’ve said anything. A fancy pair of shoes definitely catches the eye, I think!

After my panicky fashion post and watching hours of What Not To Wear I think I’m doing pretty well!
