Wordless Wednesday: Week in photos

Time for another Wordless Wednesday! Love these, they’re so easy and you guys get to have a little peek into photos/my life that I wouldn’t otherwise post about.

  1. 39ºC in my car. Roastin’
  2. Taking Alfie to work since it was too hot in our apartment. Look at him smile!
  3. Heading to CrossFit to get my workout on :)
  4. Nachos at L’s house!

Next set of photos? Girls night at L’s house!! I love doing these sort of things during the summer months. It’s what makes summer. L invited Julie and I over to her house one weeknight last week and we had drinks and made our own nachos. I think it was the most brilliant idea ever, for snacks. She purchased these tinfoil pans and we each had our own pan to build our layers and layers of nachos. All sorts of toppings were added, from chicken, bell peppers to all sorts of colored tomatoes and then of course cheese on top. Soo ooie gooie and then cooked on the BBQ! Amazing. My belly has never been happier (that evening). Ha!

  1. Oh you know, hanging out inside L’s kids SUPERHUGECOOL tree house.
  2. A better perspective at how large this thing is. Amazing right? L has quite the handy hubs.
  3. Delisous assembly line for the nachos.
  4. All the girls and our dishes.
  5. Nahcos on the grill.
  6. Julie and I in love with our nachos.

Labeling everything in the house

I may have gotten carried away this past weekend labeling everything there was to label. Gotta say, I’m feeling pretty organized as of late. Truthfully though, I’ve fallen off the organizational wagon.

For the past few months I’ve been pretty slack at keeping our home organized. Clean laundry has been piling up on the couches, junk mail left in the porch ready to be shredded, and tons of Tupperware strewn all over the cabinet underneath the sink.

It was time to get into beast mode. Pump up the music and get organized.

I’m not the most organized organizer….

I received the DYMO® LabelManager® 160 handheld label maker and literally went to town with it. Making labels to keep things organized is so fun and super easy, I can see how it could get out of hand if given to a child. Or a Nancy ;)

First I had to assemble the label maker. Easy peasy. It takes a lot of batteries.

So far so good!I have to say, I was even tempted to label Alfie’s food bowls.  In all seriousness this is what I ended up using the LabelManager for:

Labeling things in our pantry.

I purchased these small salad dressing cups to label. Perfect size for spices! You can get them at the dollar store.

A little trial and error. I didn’t realize at first that I could do different font sizes. I laughed when I first stuck this huge LEMON PEPPER on my tiny containers. You can also include symbols, bold, underline or italicize your fonts. It’s definitely a handy little device as I don’t need to keep my spices in the plastic baggies anymore. I’ve decided to keep the bulk spices in the containers I recently purchased. It’s a pitiful amount to start off with, but it’s just that. A starter spice kit for just the two of us.

One giveaway ends, and another begins. Aren’t you folks just lucky!?

One of you lucky readers will be also eligible to win a DYMO® LabelManager® 160. In addition you will receive the batteries you need to power the device and an additional label cartridge, bringing the total value of the package to $50. Please note that the contest is available to Canadian residents only.

Contest ends Saturday night at midnight. Get crack-a-lackin’!

My CrossFit Journal (Year 1, week 20)

The short:

  • CrossFit x 2
  • 5.35km run

The long (see below)

______________________________________________

year 1, week 20, day one

Linda: Modified
10-1
Dead Lift (1.5 x Body Weight) I used 105lbs
True Push Ups (on the rings!)
Clean (0.75 x Body Weight) I used 55lbs
What 10-1 meant was that we had to complete 10 dead lifts, 10 pushups, 10 cleans. THEN count down and do 9 dead lifts, 9 pushups, 9 cleans… 8, 7, 6 etc. I ended up completing 5 dead lifts and 5 pushups on the rings and the buzzer went off. I didn’t even use “that heavy” of a weight, but I certainly felt it throughout the workout!

year 1, week 20, day two

20 minute time limit

5 Rounds
50 squats
12 chin ups

I came close to finishing the WOD and completed all 4 rounds of the 50 squats, 12 chin ups. I was on my 5th round of squats, and the timer went off. I think I had 5 left or so, then had 12 chin ups left to do.

After this workout I met up with my co-worker and her little boy and we went for a 5.35km run!!
