OOTWW

I had an emotionally exhausting week. All I can say is that it was bitter-sweet in the sense that I got things off my chest that was built up, and in quite a professional matter. I was surprised at myself at how I presented myself in that situation. I feel like a more confident person because of what’s been going on. Due to privacy issues I won’t get into details, but a few people have stated that they are proud of the accomplishments I’ve created for myself over the past few months. I’m very proud of standing my ground, and won’t let things go unnoticed. That was the “sweet part”.

As for the bitter part, which I really do dislike talking about, and try not to often but; My Dad has go to back on chemotherapy. Even though he’s had a quite a long break from the “rat poison” as he sometimes refers to it as, it was “expected” but we had hoped that it wouldn’t turn out that way. Regardless of that, he’s a pretty chipper, laid back ol’ Daddio and he’ll do what he has to do. Just wish I wasn’t a three hour flight away from visiting them. Sometimes you’d just like to be there, you know?

I’m ready for the Family Day long weekend, let’s bring it on. I won’t be blogging until Tuesday, so don’t expect anything on Monday — ha ha!

ootwwSorry, no “Fun, Fit and/or Fashionable” post this week since no one submitted anything and I didn’t want to go digging for something to just post.

If you’re in a province where you have Family Day — then have a great long weekend!

On cloud 9 feelin’ fresh faced and fancy free

I just want to pop in here this evening to tell you all that I feel like I’m on cloud 9 right now.

A weight has been lifted off my shoulders which seemed like it was on me since September/October of last year. Without getting into too much detail for personal reasons, I said what was needed to be said and it felt amazing. I feel amazing and so very proud of myself for telling it like it is. Even if I got a little purple in the face and needed to step away to “take a breather” after all was said and done.

vitamin-water-zeroThen. I sat back down — cracked open a bottle of vitamin water zero and enjoyed. So fruity, so juicy. I felt like I was getting hugs and kisses hence the perfect name, for the perfect opportunity to drink it.

Have you guys ever tried this out? I’ve had the original vitamin water’s before but there’s new ones out with zero calories. Or something. It’s delicious. I reserve them for my 3pm snack time at work. I do not share.

I tweeted the other day this funny one liner (if I do say so myself) to vitamin water:

tweetThey apparently loved my enthusiasm. Psh, who doesn’t? ;)

vitamin-water_zeroOh the triple threat. Three delicious flavors (go-go, xoxox, and resilent-c). Three different flavor parties in my mouth. Honestly? I had no idea what to expect when drinking it. I thought it was going to taste either like watered down juice, or water with a hint of flavor. But it’s thirst quenching goodness that my taste buds are happy that I fulfill.

bulk-barn-valentines-day-caI went to Bulk Barn right after work and picked up some sweets for my sweet for Valentines Day tomorrow ;) Isn’t the bag the cutest?

Anyway. Enough blabbering on. Have a great night folks!

Shrove Tuesday

Happy Pancake Tuesday!

shrove-tuesday

It was tradition growing up in my household that we had pancake Tuesday on the night of Shrove Tuesday, which is the day before Ash Wednesday. I wasn’t the biggest fan of pancakes, but what was inside them made me excited for the yearly event. My Mom always put coin money in our pancakes growing up.

I spoke to my Boss about the money in the pancakes thing while we were on lunch together at the mall, and she had never heard of it! Perhaps it’s just a Newfoundland thing after all?

Either way, I had to keep the tradition going sans coin, since the Boyfriend and I come from The Rock! So tonight I made some fruity pancakes with chopped fresh berries.

Inside the pancake mix I added oatmeal, and blueberries. So many flavors happening in my mouth.

pancake-nightIs your mouth watering yet?

What did you make for supper tonight?
