DDR Madness

You know what? I tried out my roommate’s wii for the first time ever (never used a wii before) and oh buddy, I can tell if I keep this up, my arms will be somewhat toned in no time! We were playing some silly game, where I was a rabbit or something, and you had to swing this cow around and while you do that you’re violently throwing your arm about, in the livign room. As my roommate was doing it, I was in tears curled up in a ball laughing at her. I couldn’t stare at her play the game. It was TOO funny. But wow, my arms are sore.

Have you seen those teenage boys in the arcades at the mall dancing mad fast on a flat surface decorated with 4 squares? (Haven’t a clue what I’m talking about?) Have you always wanted to join in, but were too afraid of getting pwned? Well, if you don’t have access to an arcade or are too embarrassed to purchase DDR for your Wii or whatever game console offers it (I don’t even know if the Wii has invested in it. But I’m just sayin’), you can have a little fun with your very own, personalized small finger dance kit. HAHAHAHAHAHA… HAHA!!

Description: Plug your USB DISCO DANCE into the USB port, slip your fingers through the holes and select the game type, press start and then mimic the steps illuminated by the arrows. Get the highest score by pressing the button while it is still illuminated.

Wow. $63.00 This is intense.

Banff Film fest!

Holy hanna it’s insane outside today. -18ºC but the wind chill makes it feel like it’s -28ºC. Guess there’s only so warm you can really get. I even have two pairs of socks on, with leg warmers! Still cold!

For the last 15 years, right after the Holidays are over and everyone is slowly getting back into the routine of things I’ve been going to the Banff Film Festival which is usually in mid–January. I think I’ve only missed one fest in ’05, because I was trying to get this boulder problem that I was working on for weeks prior. I think I got it on the evening of the festival. Such a great feeling.

Last year I ended up being in Ontario for the festival, and they’re a bit stindgy up here! Back home we get to see two showings (The World Tour, and Radical Reels), and in Ontario they only had one showing in the city where I live, and the next night is in a city an hour away. But this year they decided to have two showings in my city. Horrah! Anyway, I guess I should somewhat explain what exactly the Banff Film Festival entails.

Each year The Banff Film Festival receives thousands of video and documentary submissions from all over the world highlighting hiking, biking, climbing and water sports. The fest is show in over 100 countries. They’re going on their 76th year in ’09. Each city shows different videos, and of course they’re different each year. Usually the fest that comes to your city is usually a 2 or 3 hour night out with an intermission, and really awesome door prizes (like Mountain Hardware jackets, Yearly memberships to places, trips to some place, and even hiking boots). Videos/documentaries that range from 2 minutes to 1 hour, so it makes for a great night out full of pumped up adrenaline, creative thought, lifelong learning, and some tear–jerking very touching videos. I have not once been disappointed by any of the showings. Some of the ones that they show do not peak my interest, but I mean I can’t absolutely love everything that they show, lol.

I bought two tickets for two nights worth, so those evenings I’ll be booked up with boyfriend. Oh yea. Definitely can’t wait. You can also see if it’s coming to your city. I highly recommend you go check it out, since it’s only $15 a ticket. Also, there’s a YouTube sneak preview for this years Fest: Check it out!

… Hi? I’m new. Talk to me?

Here I am, moved into a home with three girls trying to make friends. They’re all busy with their social lives and studying for whatever they study for. I’m stuck at home with the marvelous satellite television, eating popcorn for supper and feeling lonely since I cannot get my internet to work, and there’s only so many times you can call people in one evening. Last night I watched three and a half hours of television. It was entertaining to me at least seeing as I was used to not having cable and dealing with four channels sometimes none of them being in english, just to have on. A bit of noise in the house, you know?

At least tonight, and the next few days, I too will have a social/busy life. So there. Ha people! I have indoor soccer tonight, and perhaps two dates with boyfriend on Friday and Saturday, then Sunday and Monday we’re both attending the Banff Film Festival (which I still haven’t posted about, apologies. It’s a really great fest. if it comes to your area, I highly suggest you go buy tickets and see the films. It’s NUTS, and so exhilarating. Okay?)

The past 3 days haven’t been great in the new place. I’m always wrapped up in two sweaters, wool socks and my down filled slippers (yes. Down filled slippers. It’s total heaven) with a blanket wrapped around me, so tightly but my nose still runs. That house? Is. Cold. Cold. Cold. I’m buying a space heater this weekend. Not a want, but a need in this place. Funny that you don’t notice the small things like… oh, how the house is so old, when you first view it. You just notice how awesome the house mates are.

So. Enough of that. I want a curling iron for really nice loose curls. A cheap, but good iron. I suck at curling my hair. I also want my curls to stay put. They fall out. I need a curling iron for diversity! Especially for when my hair gets nice and long and my stylist stops cutting off the dead ends and my hair gets longer than past my shoulders. Which, on Saturday—I am getting a hair cut. I’m trying not to frequent the hair salon. I’m also boycotting the cheapy hair cutting places (tried that out, they didn’t do much for my hair. Obviously. A $13 haircut is definitely too good to be true.) and I can only afford to go every so often to the ‘salon’. Which in turn makes my hair have split ends from not going as much as I should. But I don’t want to go often, because I’m trying to grow my hair a bit longer! Never ending cycle of trying to curl my beautiful not so long hair. Please grow.

Shout out. Happy Birthday daddio!

Random. Adobe should buy PowerPoint. GAHH.

K bye!
