All under one roof

Even though I was delayed getting out of Ontario, and missed Christmas morning with my parents, I still lucked out. I was supposed to depart on the 23rd, but didn’t arrive in Newfoundland until December 27th. Flights were canceled due to storms, all over the country so I wasn’t the only one stranded and missing Christmas. Luckily, I didn’t spend it alone, and my boyfriend was with me so it wasn’t completely depressing :P We had a little pizza for our Christmas day turkey replacement.

Since there was such an uproar of all the Christmas mishap at the airports, Westjet allowed passengers to change their flight, free of charge for a longer stay! I opted for that opportunity, seeing how I didn’t see my brother for a year, and my Father hadn’t seen him in over 3 years (whoa, I know). The original plan was for me to head back to Ontario on January 6th in the very early morning, while my Brother was scheduled to arrive on the 6th in the PM. That’s how it worked out, and we thought we’d never see one another for another year or so. Cause, I mean … it’s pretty darn expensive to fly from Ontario to Ireland! Right?

So my brother got in on time on the 6th, and I re–booked my flight to leave in the early morning of the 8th. My parents the entertainers were going to have a little family reuninion/get–together while all four of us were under the same roof for once. We decided for a quiet evening in with just the four of us and some of my Mom’s amazing roast chicken dinner. It was a good time. Now I have to get my arse in gear and think about supper. Not bad, I really like to cook. I just wish I was back at home in NL, relaxing and … ahem, having supper served to me lol! I need an in house chef.

An opinion on bedframes

Loyal readers of mine, I need your help. I saw this beautiful bed frame online at a place called jysk, and found out that there wasn’t a store near me, so I called the closest store which happens to be in Hamilton. Not cool! Shipping to deliver to my city would’ve been $130! HAH. Is that not incredible? Obviously, I said thanks but no thanks, and hung up the phone. I found a pretty close replica of the bed frame on Ikea’s website! Huzzahh, love their discount furniture. I already have a few minor things from Ikea but I need your opinion on which color bed frame I should order! I already have the black/brown coffee table which will go in my bedroom at the foot of my bed (shown on your right), but I also have a super cute mini night table (on the left and I have to add that it looks so much nicer in person) in a different brown color! Here are the shades of the bed frame shown below!

Halp! I love them all!! I was thinking the black/brown color because it’s so nice and sleek, but the first one, the medium brown color looks warm and rich. Then the light color. Well isn’t that one just wonderful too? But I doubt I’d be purchasing that once since I’ll be throwing all my design ideas right out the window. I can’t have 3 different colors of wood surrounding my bed. That would just not look nice. Anyway I’m not sure. Hmm hmm hmm..

Almost time to go

Two weeks is definitely enough time to be home. I leave in two days time, and right now I’m all about seeing my brother come home tonight. He’s delayed in Halifax airport right now and due home in 5½ hours, if they stop delaying the darn flight! I think we’re going to take it easy tonight and have BBQ hot dogs (I haven’t had BBQ ANYTHING in over a year!) and I’ve been craving hot dogs and Georgetown Bakery bread. Mouth watering delicious–ness and you don’t need anything on it. Just sink your teeth into the yummy baguette and chow down.

I haven’t done any partying since I’ve been home, with the exception of going on George Street while being the designated driver. It was a fun night, nothing too crazy. Been climbing a handful of times. Supposed to climb tonight except now that my Brother is due back earlier than I thought (thinking: midnight), I probably won’t end up going one last time. I could be tempted otherwise. Anyone? :P

Did a bit of post–christmas shopping, but didn’t really get any deals besides the purses I posted below. Got a few thin puma headbands for soccer, a newfie decal cling–on sticker for my car that I will soon purchase heh, pens from Dick’s and Company (Love that store. They sell single pens, so you can try them out and only buy ONE if you want lol—I’m a sucker for stationary/pens), got myself a Rock & Ice, climbing calendar from the climbing gym, and I think that’s basically it!

Oh man. My Mom deals with vinyl decals and stuff at work. I should do up a fancy little design like they have for sale on etsy and get some neat little designs for my room. (Don’t know what I’m talking about? Click). I had this really gross eroding sticker on my retainer case, and now I have a nice “NANCY **** 555-1234” sticker on my case. You know, in case I drop it and someone is willing to pick up a small box with two retainers on it, and call me back lol. I should totally take a picture. I need to use my new camera more! YAY.

Kind of a boring/blah update. But that’s what you get when I just sit down and write an entry un–showered, hungry and on vacation! Time for a nice long bath.
