Watch yourself

The other night I heard that someone went missing (!!!) from the Downtown Bus terminal, that I frequent multiple times per weekday. Apparently this person was a teenage girl and called her Mother to pick her up, and when her Mother arrived the kid was gone. WTH! I haven’t seen anything on the news about it at all. My co–worker heard it on the radio, sooo I don’t know what’s on the go with that.

It gets dark soo early here now. I was standing at the bus stop a few nights ago around 8:00PM (pitch black by the way), to head up to the mall. The bus stop isn’t too far from the apartment building I live in, and it’s in UPTOWN, a nice part of the city. But here’s how a convo went between me and some sketch–face:

Him: “HEY! …”
Me: I turn around and look at him. Kinda give him a glare or “wtf do you want” face lol.
Him: “Where are you going?”
Me: (stupidly replies) “Uh, the mall?” ugh. (I turn back around to face the street)
Him: “The mall huh?”
Me: *nods* without turning around
Him: He gets in his car and the parking lot is like 6 feet away from my bus stop. He starts his car, and rolls up next to me. Looks at me (I can see from the corner of my eye lol) and drives away, slowly.

SKETCH–A–RIFFIC. I wasn’t even being a pleasant person around him. I was trying to be snooty so I wouldn’t draw any attention to him. Creepers man, I tell ya.

That definitely wouldn’t have happened if BF was with me, or even a friend. Movies like James Bond, and all kinds of action movies, always get me hyped up. You know the mindset: “Try me, I dare you.” I swear it’s not very safe of me to think that. But anytime I come out of a theater, I think I”m a super hero or something and cannot get abducted by people talking to me at bus stops, etc. lol Juuuust sayin’!

Fun stuff!

More fun office supplies, for giveaways to promote our web site. I usually hand these out to the front–line staff who deal with our members. I love being the person who gets to pick out what we give away, these are the Krypton pens! The climber in me wanted to order some carabiner key chains so I purchased I think 250 of them? They kinda look like the ones I posted on the right hand side here, but they come in nicer colors. I’ll be sure to take pictures of those too :)

Just past Monday I ordered 500 more pens (like the ones I wrote about here) we go through them like candy here. As a kid I always walked through the stationary aisle of stores, and always picked out a pen or two to buy and…cherish lol. I swear, I’m not that weird but as you can see I really do love my job!

Okay, so I have to edit my blog entry and just add that I think 4imprint is the most fantastic promotional company I’ve dealt with. I just got off the online ‘Live Assist’ chat thingie with a 4imprint representative and requested a sample of one of the gel pens I was eying, and I totally got it. Should be here in 2–4 business days lol. AWESOME?

YES … BEE … CAN!

Photos borrowed from Daily Dose of Imagery.

I thought this was pretty neat. So, university students in Toronto worked with professionals in the architecture, engineering and design fields on Tuesday November 11, 2008 to construct these amazing works of art. All made out of cans! The CANstruction annual event joins people together to support the food banks within the Toronto area. Absolutely marvelous. The neat little catch was, that everyone who participated were only allowed to use cans as design materials to construct and replicate these cartoony pictures.

All canned goods will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
