Must see movies, you haven’t seen?

Before going to the theater, boyfriend and I always check out Rotten Tomatoes before going to see a flick. It has to get over 65% in order for us to put our money into it.

So, I’d like to know what are some of the movies you all just recently watched (and enjoyed)? Doesn’t have to be new releases at all. But this past weekend I saw Gran Torino, (77%) and Slumdog Millionaire (received a whopping 94%). I haven’t watched many Clint Eastwood movies, even though Eastwood is my boyfriends favorite actor—such as Dirty Harry movies. I just didn’t feel like I was into his films to be honest. Not really a Western fan. I wasn’t that interested in seeing Gran Torino even! But, I’ve gotta say I loved Eastwood’s acting in that film. I loved his grunting anger directed at basically everyone but his own dog. I laughed really loud and hard at some points, (and got poked for laughing too hard hehe) mainly because I  have never did see Clint act in that way (Apparently he acts quite similar in Million Dollar Baby—Haven’t seen that movie either. Whoops.) however boyfriend felt that the acting on the other parts, lacked a bit. I agree.

Slumdog Millionaire? We went because it got rave reviews, and everyone was totally raving about how great it was. Well, I did enjoy it. Just not as much as I thought I would have, mainly because I think it was too hyped up? Not my type of film? I’m not one to watch a movie over and over again, and this for sure will not be on my list to re-watch. Just … eh. I don’t know what to think of it. I don’t really want to go into detail, in case you haven’t watched it yet. The story was ok, just not my type of movie you know? That’s okay too.

I really want to go on a renting–movie–rampage. I haven’t seen a lot of so–called awesome films. The Fight Club, Million Dollar Baby, The Godfather.  I know there’s other must–see movies, that have yet to be seen with my eyessssss. Rawwr, I feel so left out! haha.

I want to see Taken. I think that’s what it’s called? Where Neeson (or whatever is name is) has this  college age daughter who was abducted by some crazies while on vacation with her cousin/friend. I love thrillers like that.

Any recommendations?

BMF (Big MAC fan)

Ever since Connie posted her MAC cosmetics ‘haul’ and favorite youtube makeup guru videos, I’ve been addicted to watching them. I’ve found my already favorite MAC person. I’m not really into makeup that much as I don’t have patience for learning how to apply eyeshadow into a nice smokey look and in reality, I don’t have ‘enough’ colors to make a look, look great. Sooooooooo I guess I just watch and get jealous of their abilities. So my new favorite is this girl named Cheri, she’s super funny and a bit bubbly with a hint of vainity, and I just like her personality more so than anyone else I’ve watched thus far. So which is why I’m posting videos of her, on my very own website. Hoorah!

So here’s one video where she’s explaining how to apply liquid foundation flawlessly (of course, by MAC), and again another funny one where she’s talking about her favorite brushes. Yay. So la de dah, this whole post is all about Cheri and her abilities to look flawless. Isn’t she lucky. Getting a plug from someone who just spent 45 minutes looking at a few of her (long) videos. Keepin’ me entertained!

Her channel on youtube is MakeupByCheri. Subscribe if you so desire. I usually just bookmark…

Oh weak one!

I have a downfall. While everyone is in debt after the holiday season, I’m out shopping!  Sometimes that’s not really great, because even though I’m getting humongous deals, I spend a lot more—because I’m getting deals. Faill. The best time of year to shop is in late December and also in January though! hee hee. I’m already starting to shop birthday presents late in the year, and Christmas present ideas. Can’t go wrong with budgeting all year long and not being in debt when the holiday season rolls around.

I was going to shop online with IKEA to buy the bed frame that I wrote about and I just think it’s probably smarter right now, if I just save my money and buy something when I can actually go to the store, instead of paying $100 for shipping it to my place. So, thanks for the opinions but le sigh. I will not be purchasing the black/brown IKEA headboard for $400! I think I’ll just put the money that I was saving for the frame, towards my car savings.

Contradicting what I was originally saying, the other morning I bought a butt-load off the Abercrombie’s Women’s Clearance section online.  Gah, I love a good sale. I got a sick amount of clothes for < $100 (under a hundred is key, here folks. If you go over $100 in your shopping bag, you’re slapped with a shipping charge much larger.)

I put together a little image of what I purchased. So happy! Check it out:

Initially I had picked out a nice red tee (like the top left yellow one) but I forgot to add it to my cart. Oh well! It all arrived two days after I hit “purchase now!” and I’m wearing my striped green one today. Yipper! I may return the $18.90 shirt. It looks weird. I also purchased three items from Hollister, but am too lazy to put together another image. Shame on me…
