Expensive taste, anyone?

If I had all the money on the world to blow on colorful purses, and shoes I think I’d be the happiest girl in the world. I need to be on TLC’s — What Not To Wear, so I can blow five grand on fashionables.

L-R:

  1. ALDO — Stanaway, these gladiator style sandals are killer. What a steal at $40, now they look terrible in that color (in my opinion) but I’m going to try them on and pick up a pair in yellow (which unfortunately isn’t shown on their website) when they go on sale.
  2. Michael Kor’s — Westside Flats. Unfortunately, they don’t come in my size as they’re only $35.99. Guess I jumped on the train too late for these babies. I wear a lot of flats to work, usually. So this would definitely get a lot of wear, if they still had them in my size. Grr.
  3. Gucci — Pop Bamboo pumps. Who knew I liked Gucci shoes? I sure as heck don’t like their bags. I thought these shoes were super cute, especially for work as they’re not too high. But they have a little spunk to ’em, ya know with the pink AND black. So nice. I love them. I want them the most out of all of these shoes I think.
  4. Michael Kor’s — Romp flat. I guess I like an orange shoe designed by Michael Kors. Too bad Winners doesn’t sell these, har har. I like how it kinda looks like your average ballet flat, but it has a kick to it — I like the zipper thing. Normally, I don’t like a lot of ‘stuff’ on shoes. But this is well done.
  5. Pedro Garcia — Daimi pumps. I’ve never even heard of this designer before. I’d love to have these tan suede high heels for a night out somewhere. But you’d have to give me a piggy back if we’re outside anywhere. I wouldn’t be getting those shoes dirty, if I bought them!

Last but not least, this Linea Pelle — Dylan Patchwork clutch. Is that just not adorable? I found a $20 coupon code for this site with all of the shoes listed on it. I went to check out (because they DO ship to Canada, thankfully), however unfortunately the turquoise clutch is no longer in stock. Sigh. Guess it really is a wish list, huh!? I’ve actually had a lot of luck, purchasing shoes online. In fact these (good god those were hard to find on google when you forgot the name of the shoe) are a pair of shoes I purchased in 2007 online from Brown’s Store in Toronto. I practically wear them everyday during the summer, so they’re a bit raggedy now. A few months ago, I wanted another backup pair for when mine got too gross. So I took it upon myself to find the designer, emailed her about how much I loved them and told her I couldn’t find any more online in my size (8.5), and wondered if they still produced them. They were discontinued the year that I bought them. Ahhg.. anyway.

Moving along… It’s PANCAKE DAY!! We’re getting bacon, sausages, and pancakes at work today – then I’m heading to Boyfriend’s place and hopefully it will be warmer than our 41ºF house … I think our furnace broke (more on that later) and he’ll make moreeeeeeee pancakes!
Have a great day!

Weekend Recap

I was thrilled that the weather cooperated enough for my friend to be able to make it down after a 5 hour drive from Ottawa. It was snowing quite a bit on Saturday afternoon! We decided to go to a mall that I keep hearing everyone rave about. It really wasn’t that great! lol. wtf? Yesterday, we headed out bright and early (8:30!) to catch the earliest greyhound possible, to head into Toronto and do a bit of shopping. Unfortunately for both of us, mainly for my friend — it was uneventful. She came here to shop! There wasn’t much available at all. We went into a few of our favorite stores and at the back of the store most of the shelves were literally bare. I was all WTF. None of their spring stuff was out yet. (PS. Don’t we look cold, yet super stoked to shop? haha)

I knew I wanted a few things from Sephora, so we headed there after grabbing some lunch. I picked up Benefit Bronzer in Hoola for the first time ever. I’m not sure what I think of it yet as I’m used to the WHAM BAM Bare Minerals in Warmth (which seems like I get more for my money!), and I wanted NARS Laguna bronzer as well, but of course they were sold out. Instead I picked up some Sephora by OPI nail polish. I wanted a nice not–so–sheer, but sheer at the same time, whitish pink nailpolish. (shush). So I picked up some in the color Dear Diary. I’ve got it on my nails to the left (with & without the flash) nice huh? It’s not as sheer as I wanted, but I think I applied it too thick because I was impatient to do it slowly and correctly.

I’m super cold right now. I may pop in the kitchen and make myself a gourmet hot chocolate… oh yes. Too bad there aren’t any marshmallows! Drool.

Don’t forget to check out my recipe section! I added two new onesssss.

Google map me

I’m so glad it’s Friday. We had a holiday on Monday, and one would think that would make the rest of the work week fly by, but those short weeks never do for me. Earlier this week and a bit of last our mountain high snow banks completely melted with the few days of our warm spell. I got used to only wearing a lighter jacket than my normal (incredibly warm) down jacket that boyfriend got my for Christmas. Until yesterday. Yesterday was just super bitter cold again, and the wind just whipped past you. Enough to nearly knock one down. I had to go to the dentist immediately after work, but I tried racing out the door to catch an earlier bus so I’d have time to actually grab a hoody to put under my jacket and wear my winter hat. OMFG, it was insane yesterday. It was almost like having Newfoundland wind, mixed with Ontario cold. I don’t think I can describe it, unless you felt it too.

I was speaking with the CEO of our company (whom by the way is a super awesome man. Have I ever told you all how much I really do honestly love my job?) this morning and told him about my recent ride home with a co–worker.

Normally, when I take the bus like I have mentioned many times in previous posts, it takes about an hour and two bus rides to get door to door. When my co–worker drives me, it takes fifteen minutes. Crazy, yes?

Regardless of that, I was joking around with him saying that I shouldn’t take my co–worker up on ride offers, because I’ll get spoiled at how short of a trip it takes to get me home, and I will want to purchase my car without a down payment.

Plus, the darn guy has bum warmers in the car! I love bum warmers.

It’s winter, and I’m all toasty, the whole ride home. I mentioned to co–worker that he’d need to draw me a map on how to get me home, when I do purchase my vehicle. He thought that was a pretty silly request, but I genuinely need a MAP, as I only know the bus routes for this city. The CEO joked and told me that when I do purchase my car, I’ll either need a GPS or I’ll drive the exact same way as the bus drives me home now , which is totally pointless of me purchasing a car, as I’d be taing the bus route home, going all zig-zagged through the different streets, and it will end up still taking me one hour, instead of the expected 15 minutes.

I am the worst story teller ever, but I thought it was the funniest thing ever. So maybe this blog entry didn’t come out as funny as I had intended, but I hope it was somewhat entertaining you for the time being!? lol… ya.

What’s going on this weekend?

P.S: I’m making Spicy Thai Chicken with Bell Peppers and Cashews tonight, for supper. I’ll post it in my recipe section after I take photos!
