The wee little ones

IMG_0137 copyIMG_0186 copy12I received these photos about two weeks ago in my email inbox from my Mom, but I failed to post them until now. These are my nephews. Four boys: Eoghan 17, Oisin 11, Kelan is 3 and Ruairi will be 2 next month. The spiderman pajamas’s are my favorite.

You see, my Brother now works on the oil rigs in Newfoundland, but he still resides in Ireland. That’s right. He flies back and fourth every three weeks from Newfoundland, to Ireland. Think that would get a bit tiring, no? Ya gotta do, what you gotta do to support a family of 6 hey? I hope they move to Canada (specifically Newfoundland) soon. Apparently that’s in the talks right now, but other than that I don’t know much.

I would so fly home on long weekends and holidays just to see their faces. I almost dislike looking at photos of them, because I am reminded as to how much I’m missing out on them growing up.

Learn how to cook

So far so good, right?

I’m all ready to go to work. I have packed a lunch for the boyf and I, now I’m just waiting on him as we conveniently work about a 10 minute walk from one another, so I drop him off in the mornings.

I don’t eat breakfast at home, I bring in a bunch of stuff to snack on throughout the day. For instance today I packed a banana, an apple, a nature valley bar, trail mix, a can of diet caffeine free coke (mmm!), and a frozen dinner (panini!)… oh, and a pack of gum. Definitely a must-have.

I’m doing this so I don’t have any empty stomach and head on over to the cafe right next door. In fact, the cafe’s bakery oven is on the wall that my back faces at work. So it’s nice astovetopnd toasty in my little cube area for a bit of the day. But at the same time, sometimes the scents that travel into there are pretty nasty. Most days it’s mouth watery bread cooking coming from the baker. But one day last week, they must have had someone new cooking. Because all I could smell was something burning.

It’s Monday, and Monday’s hate me. So my luck is going to be burnt scents coming from there today.

Gotta go! We’re ready to roll out the door. Have a great Monday everyone.

Stuck inside

Today I woke up really late, unintentionally. I’m talking 12:30! I suppose I must have needed the sleep. When I woke up I was in such a cleaning mood but I can’t exactly clean as much as I want to because most of the stuff that needs to be put away is my boyfriends. Mostly PAPER. I hate paper. There’s piles of paper, receipts, envelopes, printed out sheets in every room in this tiny apartment that we use. So today I tried to tackle that job and sort through it and tell him to sort through my pile to see if he wanted to keep anything, otherwise I’m bringing it to work on Monday to get shredded.

It’s still sitting on the couch.

I don’t feel like making anything for supper, so we’re having left overs. I also had to get out of the house today because I just don’t like being cooped up. I tried to not purchase any Halloween candy (we don’t get trick-or-treaters in the apartment building) for myself, and I did well. I ended up purchasing some birthday cards for family members who’s birthdays are at the end of November, and some wonderful toilet paper on sale (how awesome, right?), . Even though I don’t have to pay for toilet paper anymore (hello freebies/coupons from save.ca) I still had a few coupons I wanted to use up before they expired.

I present to you, Royale Bathroom Tissue. Originally $8.47, on sale for $4.99 with two $1 coupons = $3.99 each.

Hopefully that’s not the highlight of my entire weekend ;)
