Mum & Bebé

bebe-sm

Clearly you all know that I don’t have children of my own. But I have an abundance of pregnant friends, or friends that have just given birth to beautiful babes. This all means, that I’ve been going to quite a few baby showers and have been on the hunt for a different gift for each friend.

It’s really difficult to find something nice that momma and baby will enjoy. I stumbled upon a gorgeous baby gifts website called: Bebé Dulce which is a unique store catering to newborns, babies and mothers. Best of all? It is all home made in Aspen Colorado by the talented woman herself, Claire. She is so creative coming up with new ideas, specifically the peek-a-boo clips which is exactly what you think it is “hooter hiders” hee hee! I contacted Claire asking if she’d like to work with me on promoting her shop on my website and she definitely agreed!

So. Get this: Feeding a baby out in public and don’t exactly want to flash strangers your stuff? There’s this neat invention; a clip that you attach to the feeding blanket, and I suppose on to your t-shirt as well, securing the blanket in place so when baby moves while feeding it doesn’t get bumped off and *shazam* your boobies are on display. Not a fun thing to happen to any woman. That’s available on her website if you go check it out.

Bebé Dulce also has some gift ideas for the Momma’s out there too, take a look at the Body Relaxation Products and sweet birthstone necklaces. Adorable! Plus, now that Christmas is in just a few short days,  so why not get your little loved ones or Mothers you know, a thing or two from this shop? Or if you’re in the United States she has 22 stores across the country that sell her items!

IMG08851Best yet, my readers and future winners will get to enjoy a free baby blanket! Winners get to choose their blanket color: Blue or Pink. Isn’t that great? What a terrific warm and cozy giveaway, and imagine how soft it is. Just take my word on it — it’s incredible, as you can see from the snapshot, I couldn’t stop touching it. As you all know this is my first giveaway, and I’m so thrilled to be working with Claire. I am extactic that she wanted me to feature the Lovey Blankets on my website.

I received this blanket just a few days before Christmas and since I’m heading home to Newfoundland, the blankets won’t be mailed out until after Christmas Day.

Salty food & a gym sesh

bad-mistakeIt was a bad mistake picking up this Abercrombie knit cardigan I have underneath the scarf. It keeps nailsfalling off my shoulders and it’s too low to not wear anything underneath. It’s a terribly designed sweater, and I’m stickin’ to it. Like my nails? Here’s a close up. I ended up putting on seriously about 8 coats of 3 different polishes. Don’t ask. But I do love the outcome. You can click to enlarge the nail photo (and the OOTD one) because it doesn’t exactly show my nail beds. They look fake though right? A good kind of fake, with real nails.

I went to the gym after work today, and did another “Sweat” class, which is basically like aerobics which I am so terribly uncoordinated. But I decided not to stop after my first class last week, because maybe I’ll end up getting better and much more coordinated? I sure hope so. I don’t feel tired when I do those classes, and I’m not sore the next day so I’m not sure how well it benefits me. Tomorrow I’m skipping the 1 hour insane “Boot Camp” class which left me feeling stiff and sore for 3 days after. Love that feeling. It was in my pits and butt. Funny huh? Except tomorrow is the day that my Boyfriend gets his first tattoo and I want to take photos, and not be at the gym, but be at his side … clicking away. Maybe I’ll post some — if he lets me :)  Then I’ll try and get in another gym sesh before I fly out on Thursday.

I plan on making a delicious supper tonight. I feel as if I haven’t cooked in weeks. Pizza, McDonalds takeout, Side-kicks…. too much unhealthy salty foods.

A full palette

Next time I buy an eyeshadow, I’m buying the pans because quite frankly it’s much more cost efficient to do it this way. Purchasing them in the pots are $17.50, and buying them in just the pan is $13.00! If you’re quick with the math that’ll save you so much money in the long run when you’re trying to fill out a palette. $262.50 (without tax) if you have 15 potted eye shadows, and $195 if they’re already in a pan. Bonus? The pans themselves have magnets on the backside of them and include a sticker with the name of the color, so when you run out you can check the underside and go buy a new one, without having to remember the shade/color or name! (Holy moses, I can’t believe I spent that much on eye shadow). Fortunately for me I don’t use up that much and only “hit the pan” on two shadows – which are just highlight shades and I can probably pick up my next ones from the cosmetic line NYX because I heard a few YouTube guru’s talk highly about that drugstore brand.

I ended up depotting my two Style Warriors eye shadows by MAC, and an Amazon Quad [x] from way back. So, I finally have a full palette of eye shadows! I actually have 16, but the pink shade from the Amazon Quad didn’t make it in, and is just sitting on my computer desk — for now. I rarely used it in the how every many years I’ve owned it, so it’ll be okay sitting on a shelf for a while longer. I picked up the MAC palette from MakeupAlley — swapped paypal money for the same MAC palette, but cheaper, online. My first one ended up getting lost in the mail, and the seller ended up sending me out another one at no extra cost. I still never saw the first palette first or last, nor did she. Postal ROBBERS!

Check it out! This is the best color representation I could get. No flash, in the sunlight. I don’t have all of the names memorized but I know most of them, so in case you want to know what color is what, I can do my best to answer them. My favorite color out of the whole bunch is the top right brown color — kind of shimmery. It’s called Sable. Ugh. Love it.

I now have an abundance of empty pots and MAC products to be brought in to “B2M” (Back 2 MAC) recycling program. Bring in 6 used items (mascara, foundation bottles, mac wipes packages, lip gloss containers, etc..) to a MAC counter and you get to choose a free lipstick! Though, I suggest you wait until you’re around a free standing MAC store (ie: not one in The Bay), and then you get to choose a lip gloss, lipstick, OR eye shadow! eee!!!
