My weekend getaway

On September 15, I told you that I was going to have a weekend getaway. September 21, I lied and said I couldn’t wait to see my Cutie Irish pies (nephews) during Christmas. Well…. I’m here, and I am with my Irish nephews, family, brothers and sister in law.

I’M IN FREAKIN NEWFOUNDLAND you guys!! Just here for the Thanksgiving weekend. An expensive weekend no less, but well worth it. I definitely couldn’t wait until Christmas to see them. It’s been three years since I last saw them!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I’ll be back to normal blogging next week. Enjoy the Canadian Thanksgiving…Canadians!

Eyebrow threading

Have you ever gotten it done? Pardon the poor quality of the blackberry photos in the faux wooden, old school elevator that takes about 3 minutes to go up to my floor. Not joking. I have time to snap away…

Before and after. As soon as I saw the after photo of my eyebrows, I kind of freaked out because I thought she had threaded off too much of my left eyebrow. Look how thin the beginning of it looks! I almost cried right then and there. I remember laying down and mentioning to the woman that I was trying to grow the front of my eyebrows out! What gives?

Whether I get my eyebrows waxed, threaded, or tweeze them myself I end up getting really red around the area. Sensitive skin is for suckers like myself. But you know what? With waxing my eyebrows stay red until the next morning when the swelling goes down. Seriously.

With threading, this redness had disappeared within the hour!

I have to admit that the threading was a bit painful. With waxing it’s over in a quick rip of a second. But with threading my eyes just poured water down my cheeks and I wanted her to stop lol. It was a bit much, really, but apparently threading lasts longer than waxing? That’s what a few people have told me in the past. Plus, the threading was only 8 bucks.

I’m so going back.

You’re such a GOOD… copy cat

People always wonder why I use coupons. I tell them its’ because I want to buy nicer things with the money I save! For instance, I always enjoy a splurge or two at Anthropologie. I don’t always shop there, because sometimes you can find the look for less.

But what if I owned a home? I couldn’t always go to Restoration Hardware (this store is the best) or Pottery Barn to furnish my home. Sometimes you need to get a little creative! I came across a fantastic website while reading my Real Simple magazine (October issue?).

It’s called Copy Cat Chic and I have loved everrrrrything that this person has posted. I spent a good while browsing the site for — well, not inspiration because I don’t own my own home yet. But just fascinated at the deals you can get, without breaking the bank.

Check out some of the posts:

annndd (omg)…

That’s all I’m showing you. You’ll have to check out Copy Cat Chic for more awesome stuff!
