POM Friday . 14

Alfie is pretty good at sounding cute when he begs, therefore seems to always usually get what he wants.

We never feed him table scraps, so luckily he doesn’t beg for those. Remember the pizzle/bully stick I bought him? It’s almost gone. Usually we rotate his treats, or take them away if we feel like he’s had enough time with it. Those bully sticks are expensive man! Between $4-$6 a pop. If we let him, he’d chew on that thing for a good hour. It’s a great distraction for him when I need to do chores. But sometimes he begs for those things himself.

Here he is, whimpering on the edge of the couch, knowing darn well where we place his bones. Notice his serious face in the first few photos, haha.Alfies-serious-face

Exploring coffee shops: Voyageur du Temps

Voyageur-du-TempsI’m always looking forward to my next exploration of a coffee shop that gives off cool vibes, or a sweet spot to chill out and relax. It’s starting to become a series on my blog, and I’m liking it.

Last week I went to Los Altos with Jessica and her son. We checked out the cities converted train station now turned french bakery and cafe for breakfast now called Voyageur du Temps. Those of you who are familiar with the Los Altos area, knows it’s a great spot to find quaint boutiques, and fantastic one-off restaurants to eat at, like Bumble! It’s also a crazy expensive place to live, one of the most prestigious places in Silicon Valley. You’ll often find rare luxury cars parked out on the streets as people pick up their morning coffee, or do a bit of shopping in the area. I can’t help like act like a constant tourist around these parts, snapping pictures for instagram or let’s get real, to send to my husband.

I received my latte (they didn’t have vanilla lattes, my usual) and a fancy bread thing which I later discovered is called the Star Ring pastry. As you’d expect from around these parts I paid $7.99 for my coffee and pastry, however it was a great little treat to have once in a while. I savored every last bite of that star ring, it was excellent.

Voyageur du Temps has a beautiful interior with a glass window where you can watch the pastry chefs and bakers work their magic in the kitchen to satisfy you of those artisan baked goodies you are craving. I will definitely head back for lunch some day at this little gem!

What I Ate Wednesday #7

Thank you so much for your awesome comments on yesterdays Beauty Talk Tuesday post. The photos took a long time to take (making sure they were all in focus because: tripod), edit and put together in photoshop. Since many of you had commented saying you enjoyed the layout of the post, I will continue to style the photos that way when talking beauty related products, so thanks again!

Today we’re jumping back into another What I Ate Wednesday. Mmm, food. My favourite.

What I Ate Wednesday
google-tea-egg-bagel8:50a //Pretty proud of my $7 Google purchase. A black and white mug perfect sized for my cuppa tea in the a.m. Along side, toasted everything bagel with bell pepper, mushrooms, cheese and tomatoes. Spread was mayo + chipotle mayo. All the fat. All the tasties.

lunch-snack-plate12:40p // Because when you want a lot of things but are too lazy to cook all the things, you make a delicious snack plate for lunch. Here we have a honey crisp apple, grapes, raspberries, strawberries (that were gross and crunchy so I decided to freeze them for smoothies), homemade cheese crackers, plantains, coconut flakes, pea things, homemade raw trail mix, hummus and crackers.

3pm-snack4:05p // Coffee date with my Canadian friend!

salmon-supper8:25p // I overcooked the salmon. Still good though. Seasoned with Mrs. Dash original, and a sliver of lemon. On the side, a baked russet potato (smothered with butter and garlic), carrots, cauliflower and a silly little spinach salad. So healthy.
