OOTWW

ootwwHello all! What does everyone have planned for the long weekend?

Last night I went climbing again with some bud’s. Ended up doing top rope again for the first time in a year or so. I’ve been bouldering the last few weeks and finally strapped on my harness and did some 5.10’s!climb 2

I was pretty happy about that. In just a few more weeks, I’ll be tearing down the 11’s! hee hee.

I have today off work, due to it being Good Friday. I slept in until 11am or so, then made myself some eggs (two, to be exact) and that gave me the burst of energy I needed. I ended up cleaning out our fridge which didn’t take as long as I had thought it would, surprisingly.clean fridge

All spic ‘n span now. Love opening it up and seeing everything so freshly organized. I think we have enough margarine to do us until 2014, don’t you think? Also looks like we’re well stocked on the vitaminwater. I’d like to tackle the porch now, but I kind of want to sit down and watch movies on netflix.

I also want to test out these bright neon kicks this weekend, since it’s pretty sunny and not much snow on the ground anymore.Saucony Virrata Perfect time to go for a run (first time since January) don’t you think? Omg, I can’t get over how bright they are you guys. They’re the Saucony Virrata’s.

Hoppy Easter!

Usually every Easter I have a plan to spend time with family members or friends. But this Easter there’s nada whole lot going on! I’m not entirely sure what I’ll cook for supper, but you better believe these taste buds are going to enjoy whatever I buy, or make. I’m pretty stoked. Ha ha! Will it be a mini ham? A roast chicken? Or a McDonalds trip? Who knows. Have to figure that out pretty soon, I think stores are closed today and Sunday.

Last year I drove up north to visit some family members, but Easter just came out of nowhere this year so there isn’t a real plan in place.

Since we got today off (being that it’s Good Friday), I contemplated going to do a bit of shopping in Toronto but I’m not up to fighting my way through traffic on long weekends. Stores are probably closed though.

I do know some people who are going to down to Hershey Pennsylvania in the states to do a bit of shopping. How fun does that sound? I’ve personally never been there but they were asking me to go with them, and even sent me a link to the hotel they were thinking of staying at. Not sure if they ended up with this one or not, but it looks pretty decent seeing how it receives 92% in great reviews. Mind you, it’s only 12 people, but still — pretty good ratings at that.

hersheylodge2This is the hershey lodge suites. Looks like the perfect little hotel for cozying up on a chilly Easter weekend after punching in long hours at the shopping outlets :)

Have you ever been shopping in Hershey, Pennsylvania?

Top face cream winner

Philosophy has been my favorite skin care line for the past two years. Ever since I went down to California and tried it at BlogHer’11, I’ve been hooked. You guys already know how much I rave about their purity cleanser (here and here). Well. I’ve got another favorite, product. Dear I say holy grail? Is that over used too much? Apologies if you’re sick of hearing that term phrase. But it’s my new favorite product.

Philosophy-Hope-In-a-JarI did not know that they made more than one hope in a jar formulation, however. That part was a bit disappointing since I bought the dry skin formula thinking it would be exactly the same as the normal skin type cream. I was wrong.

You can tell from the photo below that the creams are two very different in consistency. Also, on your face.

Hope-In-a-Jar-openThe one on the left is the dry skin, the one on the right is the one I’d like to rave about.

It’s a lightweight whipped consistency that is a dream to apply. You only need a smidge of it and your makeup just glides on top.

I’m not the biggest fan of the dry skin forumula, because it’s too hydrating for my skin. My makeup slips off and it’s just a mess. I cannot return it to Sephora since it came in a trio set. Thankfully it’s only the smaller jar and I’ve revoked its duties for my day time skin, and now I ocassionaly use it on my skin before bed.

Back to my fav product – Hope In a Jar for normal skin.

PROS:

  •  Soo hydrating on winter skin
  • Does not leave oily residue ontop of skin, sinks in beautifully
  • A little dab’l do ya
  • Smells nice

CONS:

  • Read the label before you buy it! (lol) – Make sure you’re getting normal forumla, not dry skin.
  • It’s pricy

I’m not sure how this moisturizer will be on my skin during the summer time. Since it’s a light weight formulation, I’m excited to try it in hopes that it won’t be too heavy. So, we’ll see! I’ll report back :)

OVERALL:
This is my favorite facial moisturizer for winter. It keeps my skin hydrated and plump. My makeup as I said above, just glides on like a dream. Using this in conjunction with my Clarisonic Mia2, I don’t have any dry patchy skin. Then again, winter is pretty much over. So maybe it’s the weather, ha ha.

Try a sample out next time you pop into Sephora, and let me know what you guys think of it!
