Twos-day 10

How do you pronounce Tuesday? Twos-day or Chews-day?  For me, it’s the latter — getting onto things I’m going to go ahead and copy Jill’s ‘Ten on Tuesday’ questionnaire, because I downright feel like it.Maybe this will become a weekly thing, who knows. But for today, I liked the questions so I decided to go ahead and answer them.

1. Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I’m an early arriver (I know that’s not a word. Oops). However, if I’m leaving the house the same time as the boyfriend I’m guaranteed to be at least 2 minutes late, and that stresses me out!!

2. What is your middle name?

Well… I’ll tell you this much. It begins with an S.

3. What are the last 4 digits of your cell phone number?

9178

4. How big is your bed?

It’s a double/full. We’re skinny people, but I think having a Queen or even King sized would be better! When we go to hotels, we certainly sleep a lot better when the beds are huge

5. What are you allergic to?

Nothing

6. What is the first thing you do in the morning?

Since getting Alfie, I get him out of his crate immediately so he can “potty”, then I’ll go…

7. What was your favorite TV show growing up?

The Wonder Years, Today’s Special, Sesame Street, The Cosby Show.

8. Will you, or did you, go to your 10 year high school reunion?

I was in Ontario and our class reunion was going to plan something but it fell through. I don’t think I’d attend, mainly because everyone I care to remember is already on my Facebook.

9. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, does it still make a sound?

I spose b’y.

10. What, in your opinion, is the greatest invention? (You know, since sliced bread…)

Computers lol.

Only a few hours left of my contest you guys!

Things I noticed while home

  • People stare a lot here. Since living in Ontario, I just find that nobody really looks people in the eye when they’re running around doing errands. But in Newfoundland — they stared at you like they were trying to figure out if they knew who you were. It weirded me out for the first few days I was out and about.
  • WHY do people wear pyjamas outside of their homes! It was super annoying and disgusting to look at. Especially the women who were in their forties wearing rotted ol’ pajama shorts in the grocery store…AND AT THE MALLS. Get dressed you lazy fools.
  • I hate the wind. That’s one of the reasons why it’d be hard for me to move back here. I have to brush my hair all the time here!
  • That being said. I miss my social life back in Newfoundland. As soon as I stepped off the plane I knew someone who was working with Westjet, and had a chat. Waiting for my luggage… had a chat with my high school buddies father. I love knowing people, but at the same time — it gets old and I sometimes want to go to the grocery store, looking nasty and grungy (although, no wearing my pj’s) without bumping into someone.
  • People in St. John’s are obsessed with Bench clothing. I loved it a few years ago when I went to Ireland and found some “new clothing”, til I came home and saw that every damn store carries the exact same jackets.
  • I also noticed we’ve gotten a few new stores in the mall (Urban Planet, Aeropostale, and RW&Co.). Aero is a youth / teen store. I saw a lot of adults wear those clothes while home. Which is cool — it’s just funny how different the provinces are from each other).
  • I actually bought a sweater dress. From Ardene! Who knew they sold clothes!!<
  • We didn’t have a white Christmas, but that was fine with me — I was so happy to be home
  • I brought back my external hard drive that my mom got me for my Bday back in May and filled it up with more movies that my Mom downloaded lol. AWESOME.
  • Found out that Caramex lip balms are actually sold in Canada.  I e-mailed them once, asking if they sold products here and they didn’t. Liars. Lawtons Drugs sells them!
  • Orange tanned skin seems to be the “in” thing here.

Okay some of these points aren’t things I noticed but just random stuff from being home.

For those who are asking — Alfie’s doing great. His mental capacity is insane with holding information at such a young age. We’re bringing him to the vet tomorrow after work so he can get the rest of his shots and it’ll be safe for him to go outside and play. Shortly after that we’re going to bring him to obedience classes, which I know he’ll catch on very quickly to, because he loves being praised when he excels. Then once he passes that, get him involved with Agility. You know… like obstacle courses for dogs where they run around and have fun? Those crazy things. Exciting huh!!? :)

Dying of cuteness overload.

First of all. I wanted to say that the gym just about did me in yesterday. I love how much the classes have changed since I went to the gym last. New teachers, and a different routine every time we attend a class. Yesterday I did a strength class, which consisted in too many lunges, squats with weights, triceps stuff, push-ups and jumping jacks. As soon as the class was over, I had to head out the door to pick up the BF at work. The “aerobics” room is in the upstairs part of the gym and I know people were wondering what was wrong with me, tip toeing and feeling a bit wobbly-legged coming down the stairs. Today I felt worse. I almost wanted to take the elevator to get to work today. So, I’m not going to my wave-machine class this afternoon as I don’t think my poor legs can handle anymore activity for a few days!

Okay, so ever since we came home from vacation (lol, all this week)  my BF and I have been constantly talking about getting a pup. I can’t hold it in anymore!! I want a puppy this weekend!

[image found on meadowlane puppies] – This is the little guy we’re looking at getting!!!

I miss my dog Peepers back home in Newfoundland. When Scott and I were in the shuttle going back to my car from the airport there was a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix sitting next to us and it was the most hyper, friendly, playful dog I have seen in a while. I freaking LOVE dogs and am in dire need of wanting one soon. At the moment, the apartment we’re in now is a bit too small for two people so there’s stuff that the pup (or dog!) could get into, and that wouldn’t be so safe. Scott was showing me photos on Kijiji of all sorts of adorable cute mixes in the Toronto area (see the puppies here, and here) moses… I can’t get over that they’re asking $400 and $500 per pup. I’d personally rather rescue a dog from the pound of course.

I have grown up with dogs unlike Scott, and I know they take a lot of work but I never really knew how much work it was since I had my first dog when I was just a baby. I got my second dog in 2001 and it took a good full 6 months of training her every day to go out to pee, not have “oopsies” indoors, teach her to sit, no bark, give paw, and “ask” to be let out (scratch the door lol). I took full responsibility in feeding my dog, getting her shots and clipping her nails on a regular basis — you have to start them young! Peepers doesn’t mind getting her nails clipped at all, and she actually loves to get brushed. However, she hasn’t had a bath in a while and she’s terrified of the fact, mainly because it’s been ages and I guess its slippery in the tub. She does love being bathed outdoors in the summertime with the hot sun shining down on her and the luke warm water sprayed over her.

Puppies are a lot more work than dogs. Puppies are honestly like having a new born baby around. Not that I know what that’s like or anything, but I remember being up a few times per night, each night with Peepers when she was just a tiny pup. I even slipped up in some wet doggy poop on my bedroom CARPET once. That was awesome, especially at 3am just waking up to go pee. Puppies require patience, and rewards when accomplishing things.

I want to just go out and pick up a doggy bed and toys for our non-existent dog right now! I’ve always had a soft spot for short haired Yorkshires, or even Chihuahua’s, but after seeing the Chihuahua Pomeranian mix a few days ago, I fell in love with all small dogs lol.

We’re pretty serious about “adding to the family” (har har) so to speak. I think a puppy, or full grown dog would be so sweet. I’m already thinking of names! You can’t beat my dog’s name back home though: Peepers. Or BF’s hedgie’s name: Boris. Can you tell we like cute/funny names? We have one picked out but I don’t want to tell people yet (haha it’s almost like I’m pregnant, and know the sex of my baby and won’t tell people).

Have a great day!
