Ebay genius

After packing up my apartment I thought to myself, instead of giving my articles of clothing to good will — I should have sold them on ebay! I never got involved with ebay before and I decided to just randomly sign up a few days ago, and search for a few of my favorite things like the Lululemon brand. I’m a huge fan of this store and I’ve got headbands, pants, sweaters and even hair elastics from the store. But what I found on ebay was something incredibly odd and I will explain why in a moment.

When I went to purchase my hair ties from the Lululemon store in Toronto, they came in a 6 pack for maybe $10? I’m not sure because I bought them forever ago — but on ebay this one girl is selling her ONE hair tie and it’s up to four bucks already. Like holy cow, are you serious? People are willing to buy these hair ties for four bucks a pop? They don’t even fit in everyone’s hair properly, because I gave one to my soccer team mate during the winter and her hair is thicker than mine and it busted on her.

Maybe I should start selling some things that I don’t use/want. I wonder if people would actually buy them?

  1. You would be amazed at what some people will buy, or simply want to take off your hands! I use Freecycle.org all the time (do you have that in Canada?), and people take the most RANDOM stuff. Old magazines, bags of clothes (when they don’t even know what is in there), etc.

  2. Some people can´t live without ebay on their lifes, how did they manage to go on without it before? I have bided for certain articles recently buy they always get to prices that turn out to be no longer interesting to me. My only purchase on that site was……..a 300$ classic car……..and it keeps running so far!!!!

  3. I’m amazed at what people buy on eBay – but $4 for a hair tie is absolutely LUDICROUS in my opinion. I say go for selling your stuff! It’s a little easier than a garage sale because you can add things as you like!

  4. I think now you have to claim on taxes whatever money you make via ebay. At least thats what my brother was telling me, I could be wrong. Regardless $4 for a hair tie is way to much

  5. i make a good amount of extra money selling my stuff on ebay. clothes, electronics, video games, movies, shoes. anything i haven’t used in months, i usually just sell it. definitely worth it!
