Alpine Snow in your Bubble Bath? Let Them Eat Rice Cakes!

Oh gosh! Did everyone have a really great Easter Weekend or what? Most places are closed right now, especially financial institutions — but not the financial institution that I work at. That’s okay, I had a nice break and at least it’s sunny out this morning. I’m totally going to load up on Cadbury Mini Egg’s at shoppers, once I get off work if they’re on giant discount. Mmmm….

Remember my post about requesting a sheer pink/white nail polish? I found a few swatches online, and The Sephora Dear Diary really resembles China Glaze’s —  Lavender Lingo. Mmm yeah. Pretty color, not for me. The same anonymous nail lady also did a swatch on what Jen posted into my comments that her favorite sheer, pink/white nail polish by OPI was Bubble Bath and the seemingly discontinued OPI’s Let Them Eat Rice Cakes. I also totally want to pick up Alpine Snow. I usually wear a bright white like that in the summers. I bought a black nail polish and only used it once. It made me feel weird.

For my finger nails I usually like it to be subtle/classic. Painting my toenails on the other hand I usually go a bit more wild. I usually get a pedicure quite frequently in the summer time, mainly because I’m impatient and suck at painting nails on my hands or feet. So I get this little Asian woman to do it for me for very cheap in her studio at her house in the basement. The colors that look great, personally on my own feet are OPI — Purple With A Purpose and right now I have OPI — An Affair In Red Square.

I’m headed to the mall last week and picked up some OPI polish already, but I won’t post the colors until tomorrow. They’re nothing like I had initially picked out. Oh well. Save the subtle for another day.

On Thursday my Boss and I headed to the mall to get some Easter pressies for her seventeen year old daughter. While we were walking around the mall, we spotted a few guys in grey jogging pant style track suits with Harlem Globetrotters on the front. There was only two of them, so I didn’t think it was that  big of a deal. But they must have been wasting time at the mall, because I spotted a few other guys there too!

I remember going to a Harlem Globetrotter’s show in the late 80’s with my Brother and had my photo taken with one of them. I actually tried to snap a few secretive photos of the newer guys, but one was blurry and the other one was just shot from the backside. Nothing exciting. I tried to look online too, to see if I recognized which one of the three I saw — I love their nick names: Special K, Moo Moo Evans, Slick Willie Shaw. Too bad I was too “shy” to ask them to pose with me for a picture. I was too giddy pointing and whispering.

After we went to the mall we headed over to the “fancy” (a huge one with a Beauty Boutique ‘room’) Shoppers Drug Mart and now they are selling designer brand makeup like Dior and stuff. I even noticed Benefit make-up (yay bronzer!) and Bare Minerals is soon coming — which means I don’t have to go to Sephora in Toronto to get my BM in Warmth any more! Whoopieee!

So exciting.

I haven’t really been in the mood for posting lately as it’s been so beautiful outside. Less time on the computer is always a good thing, right! I mean, it’s 1AM on a Friday night here. Today was such a relaxing day. I think we’re going to go test driving BMWs tomorrow afternoon :-O !!!

I almost forgot to mention that we won the championships in our Thursday Night League in soccer, as well. HOLY HANNAH! 2 championships, in 1 week. First time our team has gotten to the playoff’s or won anything in 11 years. Yowwzah!

Victory!

We won the playoff’s for our Sunday night league! I’m still in a bit of shock over this. We get prize money too, and there’s a banquet that we are attending at some point. I didn’t end up playing Sunday night because I wanted to save my ankle for the somewhat tougher game we have in our other league which is on Thursdays. I’ve been hurting it slowly since January, and since I play twice a week it hasn’t had a chance to heal.

Thursday is a different league all together, but we still have most of the same people on our team as we do for Sunday night’s. This Thursday coming, is the last of our indoor games for this season, but if we happen to win Thursday night’s game — we win the championships there, too! How crazy is that?

Thankfully, we get a month and a half off before outdoor season starts. My ankle has been really bothering me lately, which is why I sat off and watched. Oh it was agony just sitting and not being able to play – I don’t think I’ve missed a game of soccer since I started in Ontario (except for the fact when I was in Newfoundland visiting, but that was one game). I was keeping time for the substitutions and yelling out the play–by–play telling my team mates to watch for certain players, and to “GET OPEN”, and “Shoot!”, lol it was grand fun.
