Guys, I love playing with makeup. It’s so fun using bold colours on the lips, and neutrals on the eyes – or vice versa. Usually if I’m experimenting with makeup I don’t often leave the house, because for the most part it comes out terrible (especially the eyeshadow). Now that I’ve watched endless hours of YouTube, I have become a little more comfortable with blending the eyeshadow so it doesn’t look like I have two black eyes (or brown, in my case – since I will never use black eyeshadow. It’s a little daunting!). Luckily bareMinerals have come out with a Main Attraction set where all you need to get ready for a holiday party is some foundation, concealer and this shoe box of goodies.

Here’s what it looks like on me:

Holiday make up kits make a great gift to someone for Christmas, or even as a hostess gift during the Holidays. Thanks to Sephora’s 20% off sale a few weeks ago, I picked up a number of holiday gift sets for friends this year. This one, however, was sent by bareMinerals for my review.

A main attraction is a 7 piece full-face collection for a center stage look, according to bareMinerals. The little shoe box of makeup has a mirror built inside too!

What’s inside my desk?

It’s almost like a whatâ€™s in my purse blog post, but we’re getting to the nitty gritty and showing you what’s really in my desk. For the most part I try to keep it as clean and organized as I can. But usually I have notebooks, vitamins, pens, receipts, everything dumped out on top of the desk and it usually gets shoved into one of the many drawers in the desk when I want it cleared off asap.

I will always continue to have at least one junk drawer, because who can really keep that organized, all the time? Definitely not me.

whats-in-my-desk So let’s take a peek shall we?

There’s five drawers to my Ikea alex drawer unit that I bought while we were living in Canada. I’m pleased with the amount of stuff it holds, and how convent it is.

Top drawer is for quick access. Hand creams, notebooks I use on the daily, scissors, post it notes, everything else you see.

Alright, this is the junk drawer I was referring to. Miscellaneous cables (mainly for charging my phone on the go), coin purses, business cards from networking, our mailing address stamp that I got on Etsy. Newfoundland Screech Coffee!

Ah, one of my favourites. The nail drawer. The clear boxes I purchased from Daiso. One box is reserved solely for Dior nail polishes and they’re right up front. Second one is for the one’s I use on the regular (neutral nails, pinks and top coats). The one in the back has colours I rarely wear. Then I have my business ~~cards~~ buttons, nail polish remover, nail tools, more notebooks and a couple of bubble wrap envelopes.

I store my cameras in here, along with cords and chargers. A few miscellaneous boxes, and wooden cutlery too.

Last but not least, my stationary drawer! I’m a pen lover and stationary collector, and I love having options. I have a couple of pencil cases filled with markers, fine point gel pens, pencils, erasers. The rest is filled up with cards we received on our wedding day or wedding reception day along with my Fitbit box, and some fun coloured staples.

SinfulColors Holiday 2014

SinfulColors-Holiday2014 Guys you know what? I have climber hands, meaning they’re forever dry no matter how much hand cream I put on them. I tried my best to make the nails look decent for these snapshots. So there ya have it.

Get ready to be holi-dazzled with SinfulColors Holiday 2014. I picked out 4 of my favourite polishes out of the 22 polishes that are in the holiday collection and am showing you how they swatch on my nails today. I’ve heard a lot of people not liking how the SinfulColors apply on their nails, saying it goes on streaky. I haven’t had that problem, yet. But I only truly used two solid colours (a white, and a cobalt blue) – the rest have been sparkley top coats.
