Sephora VIB haulage

A few weeks ago I got an e-mail for the lucky VIB’s that we get a gift with a $35 purchase. Basically, that’s all I needed to hear and I was in. I printed off the e-mail immediately and my co-worker L and I headed off on our lunch break to the local mall and hit up Sephora.

Since I’m a huge fan of Philosophy’s products, or is it the cute packaging that gets me every time? Either way, I picked up this terrific smelling body wash and body lotion set.

Despite me being a candy addict. I dislike anything that smells like food. Philosophy has some new body washes out that smells like Chocolate, and Fizzy soda pop – which smells good if I could eat it. But I don’t thin I’d like to rub that over my body. Then again, I have no qualms about rubbing something that smells like a lime margarita over me in the shower. Who knows. Maybe I just like to stick to my citrus scents, and fresh scents.

This one leans more on the citrus side of things with Pineapple and Coconut infused in it.

I also picked up a nail file, and received some freebies in my bag with my purchase. Benefit Hello Flawless foundation and a Kate Somerville exfoliator.

Now, onto the VIB goodie bag!! The most exciting part!

Oh buddy!Let’s see, what have we got?

  1. L’Occitane hand cream
  2. Algenist night cream
  3. Sephora instant moisturizer
  4. Sephora foundation primer
  5. Smashbox foundation primer
  6. Stella McCartney perfume
  7. Murad radiance peel
  8. Lancome hypnôse drama mascara

All tucked away into a little silver Sephora makeup bag. The bag isn’t the best of quality, which doesn’t bother me, seeing as I have a ton of mini make up bags. It feels like paper, and would rip in a second. I do love the striped lining in it though!

Are you a VIB? Did you pick up your Sephora VIB bag?

It’s not just me, who love them!

I wanted to show you the sweet gifts my co-worker and her husband got each other for their 5 year wedding anniversary. Apparently year five, is leather or silverware.

L went to Fossil and bought her husband an argyle patterned wallet which totally suits her husband if you ask me! I asked her if I could take some photos of it for the blog and she obliged. Don’t worry, their five year anniversary was a while ago so it’s not ruining a surprise for anyone, showing all the goods.

I’m not sure how much the wallet was, nor did I ask, but you can probably find that out online. Leather smells sooo good. Is that weird? I’m sure some of you will agree with me!

All photos taken by me.

Men’s Fossil wallet.Inside the men’s wallet, with the money clip. The front and back.

Nice right?

Not only did she surprise him with a wallet but get this (ha!). HE bought HER some Fossil goodies. I know!! Too much!

This coin purse and the leather strap bracelet are both from the Fall 2012 collection. I know this only because I saw it in their latest catalog. Ahhh ha! L’s hub-ster is on top of the game!

I’m kind of envious of all their new goodies.

Alright, I know I’m probably going overboard with talking about Fossil this, Fossil that. But when you truly enjoy a product, you can’t help but talk about it right? Whatever. I’m gonna keep doin’ my thang. I know it probably sounds sponsored (I hope it doesn’t!) but I’m honestly not getting paid or anything to mention them.

L also made a great point on one of the Coated Cotton Canvas coin purses, shown below. She actually e-mailed me so I’d put this in my blog post. Here’s her e-mail:

I would love to see a leather coin purse. The coated cotton canvas “Key Per Coin Purse” is the perfect size to throw in my pocket, or in the pocket of my purse, or the consul of my car. It’s a great “day use” size… or perfect  for the extra change that accumulates in my Full Size fossil wallet.

BUT IF IT WAS ONLY OFFERED in the lovely buttery leather of the other styles and with a full metal balled clasp. The durability and chic look and feel of the leather that fossil is know for would be that much more appreciated in this little gem of a coin purse!

Please, please??   (It’s the style number SL3915 Coated Cotton Canvas that im referring to. But in leather!?)

My other co-worker walked into the office with a new purse that she got over the weekend. It’s from Marshall’s and she mentioned that it was much less expensive than if she were to buy it in a Fossil store. It was awkward asking her if I could take it off her arm, plop it down in our communal kitchen so I could take a photo of it. She asked why (she doesn’t know about my website), and I said I just wanted to use it for future reference?! I don’t know guys. It was the best thing I could come up with. I suppose I should’ve told her about spiffykerms.com, regardless, I did not.

The purse is a blush pink color, and it’s so soft to the touch. It’s like the leather’s already worn in and it’s ancient. But it’s not. I have to be honest. I put it on my shoulder and waltzed around our work kitchen with it on for a few minutes, just to get a few giggles out of my co-workers.

What do you think of all the goodies?

What is on your Fall 2012 wishlist?

  • A new pair of boots?
  • Perhaps a new wallet?
  • Maybe some new clothes?

One of his favorites

In our household, we make a lot of chicken. I would like to emphasis a lot. I will never tire of it. Clearly, since I’ve been eating it mostly every day for years now.

Sure I like to change it up a bit by having fish, burgers, pork or (rarely) ham. But for the most part it’s just chicken on the menu. I’ve become pretty creative when it comes to making our chicken suppers. I’m really terrible with coming up with recipes myself. Whenever I’m eating out, or my family cooks something for me, I grab their recipe. Usually it’s not measured. I also like finding recipes online especially a site that is just catered to chicken: http://Chicken.ca. Uh, heck yea.

I’ve decided to share with you another step-by-step recipe. One of my boyfriend’s favorites: Rich ‘n creamy white chicken spaghetti. Except I use spaghettini. Oh details.

My Mom made this for me when I was back home in Newfoundland during Christmas two years ago. It’s so simple. Look:

  • Milk
  • Cream Cheese
  • Chicken
  • Bell Peppers
  • Spaghetti noodles

That’s it.

I’ve started to play around with the recipe, adding in things like dill, or garlic to the mix. It basically tastes the same every time.  I don’t know why I bother making it more complicated.

Honestly I don’t measure, because I always have to add more of the original ingredient list, after the fact anyway. I’ll try my best ;)

Start heating up your frying pan, and set to medium heat.

Add in half of one tub of cream cheese. I use the light, just because the entire base is cream cheese and probably not the most healthiest meal you can eat. But it’s good. Can you believe I don’t like alfredo sauce, but I really love this? I don’t get it either. I try not to make too much sense of it.

At the same time, add in ¼ cup of milk. I use skim. You can use whatever you please.

While that’s simmering down to a sauce. Cut up some cooked chicken and bell peppers. Add in any other veggies you may want to incorporate into this recipe. Also while you’re waiting, put a pot of water on the boil, for your spaghetti noodles.

Cook it until the cream cheese melts into the milk and creates a nice sauce that looks a little like this, or until it gets bubbly. Stir occasionally, so the sauce doesn’t stick to the pan.

It may have lumps in it. I’m not a perfectionist in the kitchen. I leave them there, lol. Those black  specks are the lemon pepper seasoning I added. As I stated before, I don’t know why I try to make things more complicated because I honestly couldn’t tell the difference.

Now it’s time to add your bell peppers and chicken breast into the mix. I used one green pepper and two boneless skinless (cooked of course) chicken breasts.

Giv’er a good stir around, and put the top on your pan and let science do its thing.

Your water should be just about boiling for your spaghetti; boil spaghetti for 8-9 minutes.

The chicken and bell peppers suck up the moisture of the sauce. So now I like to go back in an add more milk, to make sure that the sauce is more creamy, instead of sticky and dry.

Ding ding ding! That’s the sound of the buzzer. It went off so now that the spaghetti is done it’s time to strain the noodles and serve your supper!

And there you have it my friends.

A #NoNakedChicken, creamy chicken spaghetti recipe. If you cook your chicken and chop your veg beforehand, your supper will be ready in 20 minutes tops. So easy, right?
