His Christmas present!

I’ve been impatiently waiting to blog about Scott’s Christmas gift for months now.

This present was the most stressful gift I’ve given him in the 7 years we’ve been together. Usually we don’t spend much on each other at all. Just buy thoughtful gifts year round and do the same during Christmas. It’s been difficult organizing this all on my own. Usually we go back and forth debating about dates, vacation time and everything else that goes with flight bookings, dog-sitting etc.

I don’t know where I had come up with the idea — in fact, it was supposed to be his Birthday gift but it wasn’t organized in time and I was so unsure, since I’ve never really been a huge organized planner. I wrapped the present in mid-December and asked him each day if he’d like to open it. I WAS DYING to see his reaction, I’m telling you!! Each day he asked me a series of questions. Some too good, that would give away the surprise, so I rigged my answers as carefully as possible, to throw him for  a loop.

Finally, this morning he opened his light-weight, large, and ever so disguised Christmas present from me.

pack-your-suitcaseA TRIP! A trip to Old Quebec City!

Still not home in Newfoundland yet. So expect more blog posts from me through the next few days. We ARE going home though. It just sucks because Scott is working every.single.day. Poor bugger. Well, poor me too – I’m alone during Christmas! HAHA. I do have the internet radio playing Christmas music, and Alfie’s here with me. So I’m not completely alone.

Happy Tibb’s Eve all yee Newf’s!

Peek into my suitcase

Suitcase is packed and ready to go.

This is my checked luggage that I tweeted a photo of a few days ago.

xmas presentsI’m hoping that airport security won’t want me to open and unwrap all of my tetris-like laid out presents. I think I might cry if they make me unwrap it all. I can see myself now, turning red, kneeling down opening them all up and have tears welled up in my eyes… thinking of all the time I spent wrapping them, listening to Christmas music and drinking hot tea.

Think positive thoughts Nancy. Positive thoughts.

My way around it, is twist-tying the zippers together so when the airport security folk are randomly checking bags, they’ll skip past mine since it’s a hassle to open the curled up twist tie. That, or they’ll whip out a pair of sharp scissors and cut the livin’ daylights out of it. Do they give background check pre employment at easybackgrounds at the airports? They better.

Saturday morning breakfast

Good Saturday morning to you all!

Saturday-BreakfastI was up really early this morning cooking up a scoff for the Boyf and I. He has to work every single day for an extended period of time, perhaps even through Christmas. So I thought I’d send him on his merry way to work, with a full tummy.

What does everyone have planned for the rest of your very last Saturday before Christmas? I loaned the Boyfriend my car since winds are gusting up to 70km/hr and it’s pretty bitter cold out there with a temperature drop. I’m supposed to go on my solo run this week, since my coach can’t go with me. I don’t think I’ll be going out today, and save it til tomorrow. I may pop by Starbucks later since I have a free grande holiday drink to use up :)Saturday-Breakfast2
