If there’s one thing we do a lot in our home, it’s reading. We’re raising readers over here and we’re regulars at the library… often checking out 20+ books at a time, so building a love for reading has always been important to our family

Recently, I was introduced to Read Bright, and I’m really excited to share this program with you, especially if you have early readers at home like I do. Read Bright sent us a generous package to explore, and I’ve been using it with my 5 and 7 year-old boys. (I requested two sets to avoid sibling conflict).

What is Read Bright?

Read Bright is a structured literacy program designed specifically for children who are just beginning to learn how to read. It focuses on foundational skills like:

  • Phonemic awareness (recognizing and working with sounds in spoken language)

  • Phonics (connecting letters with sounds)

  • Vocabulary development

  • Fluency and comprehension

The program is aligned with research-based practices and is perfect for preschool, TK, Kindergarten, and early elementary-aged children.

Since Read Bright has this program with lots of books in their set I thought it would be a great introduction for my almost 5 year old who is in TK so this came at an ideal time as the books are at the right level for him to start sounding out words and recognizing patterns in language.

The same set I have for my 7 year old who is more fluent in reading, but I got that other set for him since he enjoys having quiet time and going through stories himself.

And as a bonus for educator.. If you’re a teacher or school administrator, Read Bright offers free sample kits so you can try the program before committing. That’s a great way to see how it fits into your classroom or curriculum.
