Dior Rouge | The New Lipstick

DIOR-ROUGE-HEADERDior recently launched a new collection of lipsticks called Dior Rouge The New Lipstick. Not just a handful — 50 shades, with 5 finishes. I was sent four of the lipsticks for review and if you’re into seeing them swatched on my lips real-time, watch the YouTube video I filmed last month!

I mean, that’s a huge launch for anyone. What was a little unexpected was that Dior came out with some colours labeled as extreme (finishes), which were just that: bold, surprising, and fun colours. In my opinion, it’s something that definitely is more playful for Dior than just the classic colours. And boy, do I have an intense playful colour to show you, hoooboy. Upon making my YouTube video they had yet to be launched — but you can definitely get your hands on them now for $43.00 CDN.

The shades I have are comfortable to apply, have high pigmentation with zero patchiness and are fantastic colours that lasts on the lips. With 50 shades of lipsticks and all sorts of fun finishes to choose from there is definitely a Dior Rouge out there for everyone.

The five different finishes:

  • Natural Nudes [9 satin colours + 2 matte colours]
  • Pretty Pinks [9 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Passionate Corals [8 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Legendary Reds [10 satin colours + 3 matte colours]
  • Extreme Matte [all matte shades]

Amongst the 50 colours to choose from, 4 cult colours shaped the History of colour and couture of Dior: (taken from Dior’s website)

  • 080 Red Smile, worn by Natalie Portman. The luminous and fresh red-coral, irresistible must-have inspired from the 080 Red shade created in 1959.
  • 999 Matte, matte version of the famous 999. The perfect red of the House Dior.
  • 047 Miss, the colour of love. Vibrant and intense fuchsia: in memory of the unforgettable fragrance Miss Dior.
  • 060 Première, the red of the first times. The rosewood, easy to wear, easy to dare.

Lip-cap-is-redYou’ll notice that the inside of cap of the lipstick bullet is red as well. They’ve thought it all through, as you’d imagine. Colour above: Actrice [Passionate Coral].

Because Dior decided to do a little somethin’ different to switch it all up, I decided to smooch the back of my hand for the swatches to switch things up a little too. So let’s get swatchin’!

Look Of The Day: Dior Skyline

Dior Skyline Collection Fall 2016

It’s been ages since I’ve done a step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve a ‘look of the day’. This time, I’ve created a radiant, natural look with the Dior Skyline Collection that launched August 1, 2016. The products are now available in stores and online.

HeaderDiorSkylineWant to see how I made this dewy-natural look using mainly Dior products?

Dior1-3

1. Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream | Apply an eye cream under the eyes to add extra moisture to help concealer not settle into fine lines and provide a perfect canvas for application.
2. philosophy hope in a jar | My favourite moisturizer, it makes my skin look dewy, and healthy looking. Apply a generous amount to the face, and don’t forget the neck!
3. Diorskin Forever Foundation |  Use your favourite foundation to create a natural, or full-coverage look to your face. I mixed the shades 10, and 30 together to create a shade to suit my skintone.

Dior4-6Steps 4 through 6 is all about concealing.

4. Fix-It Colour (2-in-1 Prime and Conceal) Green | If you have red undertones like myself, twist up the green shade of the Fix-It Colour (2-in-1 Prime and Conceal) and pop it on any places you feel that need to be neutralized. Read more about Fix-It Colour’s on my previous blog post.
5. Fix-It Colour (2-in-1 Prime and Conceal) Yellow | Dark under eyes? Use the yellow corrector to brighten up any dark circles. Read more about Fix-It Colour’s on my previous blog post.
6. Cle de Peau concealer | To cover up any yellow tones you put down under the eyes, lightly apply a creamy concealer and dab to blend in the colour with your ring finger.

Dior Skyline | Colour Correctors

Dior Fix It in GreenOne of Dior’s latest backstage items is the new multipurpose colour concealer packaged in the same way as their Fix-It for good reason, they play a similar role as they are both for priming, but added in a colour correcting aspect to it and you have targeted shades to create an even base/canvas for any redness/darkness or blemishes you may have.

Notice the caps on the colour-correctors correspond to which shade is in the tube? Much easier to grab, whenever you want to apply one quickly. There’s four shades for all your targeted needs (I don’t have the blue shade).

See them in use, after the jump!
