Didn’t I marry a hunk? 11 months into our marriage and we finally sent off our last few thank-you card’s in the mail.
Today I’m taking you at a look back to Mothers Day in May, when The Guy, Alfie and I took off to San Francisco to take our Thank You card pictures. We set up a tripod, snapped a few hundred photos, and I did the rest. Can I tell you how annoying and difficult it is, to print your own cards on a nice quality paper? Given that I’m a Graphic Designer, I didn’t want anyone else’s designs on our cards but my own. I ordered through one site, uploaded the artwork myself, once I received the cards I noticed that the paper quality was sub par. They got sent back, we got refunded and I ended up printing them at Staples back when we were home in Newfoundland this summer.
So here we are with the fourth installation of Pomeranian Friday’s with Alfie. Let’s call this one: Alfie does San Francisco.
Me: Etsy necklace, Joe Fresh cardigan, Forever 21 tank top, JC Penny jeans, Target sneakers
The Guy: Fossil top, Winners jeans, Sketchers shoes.
You know. In case you were wondering about our fantastic fashion sense ;)
I didn’t think it was a thing to play with your food when you’re an animal. Guess this will prepare us for the weird things kids do, when The Guy and I pop out one or two. Alfie has this thing where he takes one kibble of food from his bowls, walks a few feet away from it and mouths at it a few times. Reaches in, almost bites, then backs off. It’s funny to watch, so I don’t bother him while he’s doing it. You know, he may get a complex and all.
Both his brown place-mat and his cereal bowls are from Target. I’ve upgraded our little guy from a silver platter (silver dog bowls) to fine china (ceramic bowls). Ha. I thought that was a pretty funny joke. Until I had to add in the brackets to explain. In my head it was funny.
For now, enjoy these photos of him eating and playing with his food.
Alfie is a weird Pomeranian. All my life I’ve had medium sized mutt’s, so having a tiny pup like Alfie is always an adventure. He’s full of energy most of the time, and he’s always checking out new places. When I’m getting ready in the morning he whimpers to get into the bathtub. Occasionally he’ll jump in there himself, but when we moved to the town home the tub’s edge must be intimidating to him. He gets a boost up and walks around in the tub like he’s King of the Castle. Figures. He always acts like that.
So for Halloween, I thought I’d dress him up like he was getting a scrub down in one of his favourite spots. We don’t bathe him often, because we don’t want his skin to dry out, plus he doesn’t get incredibly dirty anyway. It’s not like we’re taking him in the mud and dirt for him to roll around. He much prefers to do that in grass, or snow. Not going to be seeing that for a little while, buddy.
When I placed my shower cap on his head, I couldn’t hold my BlackBerry up without shaking my hands from laughing so hard. Oh the uncontrollable later had me falling on my butt trying to get Alfie stabalized, not looking all around the tub, so I could snap a few treasures.
Lil guy will do anything for a treat (chip off the ol’ block). Watch out, the first few he’s giving you a little leg action there — what do you think, Next Top Dog?
Happy Halloween! Enjoy the photos.
