OOTD from Tom Cridland’s sustainable clothing line

Tom Cridland is a singer songwriter, fashion designer, podcaster and entrepreneur and he recently launched the world’s first ever full collection of sustainable clothing that is backed with a 30 Year Guarantee. And I got to check out an item from the collection. 30 Year Hoodies, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and more are made out of 100% GOTs certified organic cotton, and built to last a lifetime.

Despite the summer weather here in California, the mornings have always been on the cooler side. I love to cozy up in loungewear most of the time, especially with two small boys at home. I’ve been going on 5:30am walks with my littlest guy, and have been wearing this hoody when it’s crisp outside.

If you’re on the hunt for super soft and cozy basics that are long lasting check out Tom Cridland’s collection. Here, I’m wearing the sustainable hoodies, made out of organic cotton and recycled polyester. It comes in an incredible amount of colours from pull-over hoodies to zip ups.

A nautical look with my toddler

Nautical Mondays. âš“

It’s not often that you can find mommy and son matching clothes, but I’m kinda really diggin’ this one. How adorable does bebs look in his shades, jeans and flip flops. A true California boy. He’s wearing a size 6 here in the top so he definitely has tons of room to grow. I wish I had sized down to a small in this one, I pinned the top in the back to make it more fitted. I got a medium, and in hindsight should have got a small.

We’re both wearing striped terry cloth polo shirts from Castaway Nantucket. I love the quality – perfect for wearing to the beach or pool this summer, or simply lounging in the backyard as it’s made from moisture wicking fabric.

Easy playdough recipe

Guys! Can you believe I’ve never made playdough ever, in my adult life? What was I waiting for. I may enjoy it more than my 3 year old. I gotta say, at first when I was making it, I was all “uhh this doesn’t look right“, but fear not – and trust the process because it comes together quick.

Rather than blabbin’ on and on I’m going to make this a quick blog entry because I hate scrolling for days through blogs when all I want is the recipe. Know what I’m sayin’?

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • food colouring

Mix everything together in a pot and cook it over medium heat. Continue to stir the mixture until thickened and begins to gum up around the spoon.

Remove the dough onto a plate to cool. This is where i separated the dough into portions for food colouring since I didn’t want only one colour made. Store in an air tight container (ours is in a ziplock baggie). That’s it!

Side note, you know how regular playdough (brand name kind) gets dry semi-quickly especially if you leave it out for a few hours? This one surprisingly doesn’t! My little guy played with two of the five colours for a good 3 hours (on and off) today, and it’s still as good as the day I made it.
