To save money on groceries. I do out a weekly list of what I already have in the fridge to try and use up all the produce and frozen meats so they won’t sit in the fridge/freezer too long, and have me forget about it. I’ve been slacking for the last few months on writing down weekly menu’s. But then I jump back on the wagon, and for the past 3 weeks I’ve been writing down on the frige what we’re going to eat for the week. That way boyfriend can’t ask me at 3 o’clock while his cravings kick in at work for food: “What’s for supper?”. Ahhh!
So here’s my list for the next little while—all cooked at home! We rarely eat out and it’ll usually be on a weekend out to McDonalds which is a cheap meal in itself. YUM! (I sometimes do a lot more than a week’s worth, since I get on a roll with all kinds of recipes dancing in my head) lol:
DECEMBER 1–6
Monday: Angus beef burgers (blue menu!) & shoe string fries
Tuesday: Salmon with basmati rice and a ceasar salad
Wednesday: Chicken teryaki stir fry with basmati rice
Thursday: Chicken wraps (I put low fat shredded cheese, chopped tomatoes, red/green peppers in strips, taco seasoning on the chicken, shredded lettuce and a tablespoon of low fat ranch dressing. All wrapped up. Yum!)
Friday: Pork chops, steamed asparagus, baked potatoes, and boiled carrots
Saturday: Asparagus wrapped in chicken served with rice (This recipe is the best. My Mom did some experimenting and it’s now on my weekly menu. Flatten out the chicken breasts, sprinkle some cheese and add 3 stalks of asparagus. Top with salsa and chopped tomatoes!)

DECEMBER 7–13
Sunday: Parmesan garlic potatoes with pork chops and carrots|
Monday: Gemeli (Basically gemeli noodles, with a bunch of shredded cheese and tomato sauce)
Tuesday: Rotini with vodka sauce and chicken
Wednesday: Honey mustard chicken with basmati rice and steamed broccoli
Thursday: Chicken quesadillas (My own, are my favorite. I should post this recipe!)
Friday: Cressendo chicken pizza—bought for $3.99!
Saturday: Staff Christmas Party

DECEMBER 14–16
Sunday: Chicken pad thai with red peppers and tomatoes
Monday: Pork tenderloin served with roasted potatoes and cooked carrots
Tuesday: Supper over in the next city, with my Mom’s cousin(I think!)
Wow. So that’s our meal plan until December 16th. I never usually stray off that either. Because sometimes I feel ambitious and chop up my veggies a night in advance so I don’t slack off. Notice we don’t have many left overs? Literally once a month I’ll make enough left overs (usually it’s with Chicken Pad thai, as per request from the boyfriend) that I save some for lunch for the next day. (That, or home made macaroni and cheese).
My mouth is watering. I have a stupid frozen dinner for lunch today.
