Dior Airflash Foundation

Dior Airflash spray foundationWhen I first got the Dior Airflash foundation, I didn’t know to efficiently get the foundation on my face. Considering it is a spray foundation, I didn’t want to exactly go to town and spray it all over my face, like I would a hairspray all over my hair. I mean, I suppose you could go about it that way, but I feel like it’d show up in my dark hair, my eyebrows, and lashes.

Dior-brush-with-AirflashSo I opted for spraying the product in the cap, dipping my Dior Fluid Foundation brush, giving it a bit of a swirl to pick up the product, and applying it on my face that way. It’s the only way I came up with, and it’s been working wonders with little mess/clean up.

DiorSkin-AirflashMonths I’ve been using this! You can kind of tell by the usage on the spray nozzle. I think I received it from Dior during the Fall, if not earlier than that. We all love before/after’s when it comes to foundation reviews, especially so you the reader can tell how much coverage it has and see it all for yourself.

It still looks natural, right? I have to say, Airflash is like the goldilocks of foundations, you get the perfect amount of coverage with the perfect amount of semi-matte/natural looking finish, I would assume that is the exact thing that most people are looking for, with foundation. I never need much product to cover my entire face, and if you notice — the Airflash can itself carries 2.3oz of product, so you get more for your buck.

I’m not sure if you can tell what type of coverage or effect it has on the skin. It’s a lightweight formula since it’s so airy to apply, but it has a medium and buildable to a high coverage. As a reminder, I have dehydrated skin and prefer to have a medium coverage that has a glowy application to any foundation. What do you think? There’s a few different brands out there now that creates a spray foundation. Have you tried Dior’s, or any other brand? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts.

Face brushes by Dior

Dior makeup brushes

Dior-faceHere’s something I haven’t spoken about with you guys on my blog before, Dior makeup brushes! I’ve had these two Dior brushes for months, and I’ve been using them — just not speaking about them. Guess now I should share the love of them on my blog, and let you know what I think of them. Spoiler alert, they have stuck around my makeup bag ever since!

Dior-foundationDior Fluid Foundation brush is a brush I prefer to use when I am wanting a higher coverage, flawless face due to it being so dense. The fluid foundation brush mimics synthetic fibers, with the softness of natural fibers. It’s a layered and tapered brush, so it applied foundation easily but quickly too. The brush is small enough to fit underneath the eye to blend in your concealer, and perfect to glide softly around the nose, making sure you don’t get that caked-on-foundation look around that part of your face. ‘Cause sometimes, that happens! But with this brush, it won’t. I feel like I look totally natural when wearing makeup, using this brush. Plus, I love how slim/tiny it is.

Dior Kabuki brushDior Kabuki Brush no. 17 has been the brush I’ve been reaching for the past few weeks to apply a quick bronzed and chiselled look to my face, without having to blend it out after. Hashtag I use this when I feel lazy. This does it all. It’s not the softest makeup brush I own, but it’s compact enough to fit into my mini makeup bag, does an excellent job of getting the job done quickly, and picks up the perfect amount of product. To apply my bronzer, I lightly dip the tip of the brush head into the bronzer, and apply my bronzer using circular motions allllllll over my forehead, under my cheek bones, a touch down the bridge of my nose, and finally finish off with a dab of bronzer under the chin #EraseTheDoubleChin.

Dior-brushesDo you have any Dior face brushes? What one’s do you use? If not, what is your favourite brand of makeup brush?

Dior Glowing Gardens: Spring 2016

Diot Glowing GardensToday is day three of five, where I’m speaking about ALL DIOR BEAUTY. How fun is that? I mean, overly fun if you’re into Dior. Maybe not super fun if you’re not into Dior. Know what I mean?

Yesterday, I spent the entire day (6 hours!) cleaning out and decluttering our bedroom. Mainly my items, because I didn’t realize how long it had been since I went through my workout clothes, my regular clothes, my underwear, my socks! So much stuff. I won’t tell you how many bags I ended up donating. But, let’s just say by the time I was done lugging stuff down to my car, my face got a little sweaty. There’s two flights of stairs from our bedroom to my car!

The Dior Spring collection: Glowing Gardens, has been out for quite a while, more than a few weeks. And if you’re ontop of the game, this is probably old news to you, and I apologize for that. But like I mentioned, I received a California parcel in the mail from Dior, while I was back home in Newfoundland. I can still talk about how awesome it is, and how some of the items confuse me, though, right?

Let’s get on with the easy stuff first. Like this robins egg blue nail polish. It’s Dior’s bleuette in 301. Just like any other Dior polish, applies like a dream and incredibly opaque in two coats. Top it off with the Dior Gel, and you’ve got your mani lasting all week long.

Secondly, just to get it over with. I’m not entirely sure how the Lip Glow liner is supposed to work, or what specifically it’s supposed to do. I already own a couple of the Dior Lip Glow balms, which work naturally with your lips chemistry and changes to a different colour, depending on your lip shade. This is a smaller lip liner version of this. So I suppose it’d look nice if you wanted to apply only to the lip line area, and apply gloss over top! How would you wear it? Help me out here. Bluette-and-lipliner

The palette I know my friend Bobbi, in Newfoundland would love. She mentioned to me over Christmas that she was excited for this Dior collection to come out because of the green in the palette. It’s a great selection of nudes with an easy to wear grassy green (how appropriate, considering the collection is called Glowing Gardens). You guys know I love me some neturals, though. Glowing Gardens Palette

The Glowing Gardens eyeshadow palette colours swatched on my pale arm. What colour stands out to you? I love the middle colour (which is the highlight in the middle of the palette with the CD logo embossed), and the fourth colour which is the lighter brown/nude shade. Dior eyeshadow swatches

And finally, the show stopper of the entire collection in my opinion is the Dior illuminating powder. Dior illuminating powder

I mean, look at that swatch. It’s perfect, it’s gorgeous, and it’s incredibly pigmented with the perfect amount of glow and shimmer. I love applying this lightly to my cheekbones, and a tiny bit near my tear-duct area to make it look like I have somewhat angelic eyes, haha! Dior illuminating powder swatch

What do you guys think of the Glowing Gardens collection so far? I didn’t showcase everything (these are the items I was sent). I LOVE a bunch of the nail polishes from this collection, I want to run to Macy’s and pick them up!
