Version four of my vacation post? When will it ever end you ask? NEVAH. Okay. Actually you know what? I have no idea when the vacation posts will end, because I’m just grabbing 7-10 photos as we go until I reach the end of the large file folder filled with my photos. Hope ya don’t mind! Don’t forget to click and enlarge the photos.

We headed out to a suspension bridge that didn’t end up looking anything like what we had imagined. There is a train tour that we could have rode on, but it only ran on certain days so we didn’t get to hop on one. Since Newfoundland’s railway system stopped in about 1986, I don’t think I’ve ever been on a train. I’ve always fantasized about them because I remember living on one street back home in St. John’s, right in front of a train track. Of course there was a huge fence about 6 feet tall, so my Dad used to put me up on his shoulders when I was a toddler and watch the train go by. Apparently we were related to the engineer that drove it. Something like that. I don’t remember the story. So every time I see a train go by, I just reminss about the days where Daddio and I watching them together. Hee!

We’re playing around the railway tracks a bit in these next few photos:

Scott decided to monkey his way down this steep hill to get to the almost/bottom drop of the cliff. Look how tiny he is compared to the train track … tower.

Finally we decided to mosey on our way and find a spot to do a winery tour. Drove around and saw this Mediterranean looking one, but what we really had in mind was Quail’s Gate. Boyfriend’s friend recommended this one, and boy was it a great choice. Beautiful spot, amazing food and wine. We were treated like Royalty there. It was great that we were the only people there. We reserved our table for 5PM right after the wine tour, and wine newbies like us – we had some terrific professional servers that definitely helped us out in that subject. I would have taken my camera out a bit more, but it seemed too fancy. I wish I could have shown you the food. It was so delicately placed on the plate, and it was sooo good tasting that I literally wanted to shove it all in my throat. But not to worry, I was lady like and used a fork and knife.. and sometimes even my spoon. We had a 3 course meal and ended up staying there for three hours! We learned so much, and now my favorite wine is definitely Pinot Noir from the Stewart Family. Mmm I can still taste it.

How beautiful is that scenery?

The next day we spent the whole day in the car, trying to make it to Lake Louise. We eventually made it the next day (I think?) and of course, felt obligated for more photo taking!

Oh hello Louise.

Went a little camera happy at this place. I’m sure you can tell why. Look at the gorgeous color of that water! IMG_7524IMG_7558

Take a photo of me, please!

BC/Alberta (3)

Reverting back to my second post in my vacation … The next day we decided to walk up a trail next to the Hollywood Penticton sign.

IMG_6838

I remember not wanting my photo taken here, hence the stance I am in. Lovely.

IMG_7068

We then hopped in the car and went out again seeking adventure. (He doesn’t like his photo being taken heh heh)

IMG_7076

Saw a run down fruit stand that may or may still be in operation. It’s difficult to take photos of something like this, especially going highway speed in a car. Shucks!IMG_7086

Not many more photos to show you from the other hike, because I mean c’mon I’ll be doing BC/Alberta posts for the whole month of September if I add everything. Eegad. So the next day, we headed out to a mountain that I really don’t remember the name of because I’m terrible with stuff like that. Just give me a visual and I’ll know what I’m remembering back on.

Funny story behind this 2 or 3 hour hike that we did. There were wild cows on the loose. Well, they were tagged. But they got spooked by us and there was a forest around us with a big cliff drop on either side, for only about 500 meters. Little did we know that the whole hoard (okay just 2 lol), of them wanted to join the rest of the pack (4) who were ahead of us. We were kind of stranded because we didn’t know whether or not we should pass them. They were just staring us down and moo-ing. Eventually we scrambled up the forest and tried to shoo them past us, but they weren’t having it. Staredown it was. We just continued to break our way through the mini-forest and climb up a small hill to get to another path that lead us to the car. Whewf.

See what I mean? Look at those cows behind me (top right).

Top of the mountain, once again! Hallelujah. I have this photo (without Scott or I in the photo) as my desktop background at work. I haven’t edited any of these photos to make them look as awesome as they did in person, because quite frankly I was too lazy to go through 850+ of them and decipher which ones to edit. So I left them. To rot. Kidding!

After all the excitement of the cows, we went to a fancy looking McDonalds with beautiful mountains behind it. Those mountains always amazed me, you guys. It honestly looked like the mountains were painted onto the sky. They just didn’t look real! I got a caramel ice cream sundae that was bombarded with 4 pumps of caramel! The woman was going WILD with my sundae. I surely didn’t mind. But man, was that ever the caramelyiest (forgive me for making up that word) sundae known to man kind. Don’t you usually just pay for extra pumps? I got it all for freeeeeeee.

I still have a few more posts coming up. Keep on comin’ back!

All about news

work

Working at the new Credit Union branch, is a lot more modern and so much more stuff going on since it’s close to the two universities, it’s in the same building that I joined a gym at (not anymore, waiting until January to get a better deal $$$), there’s been charity BBQ’s each week since there is a handful of large tech companies in the vicinity.  There’s even a dentist office in our building. The mall is just two express bus stops away (about 15 minutes) so if I’m running low on eats for lunch, I’ll dart over there. Also, the bus ride to work now is only 11 minutes. No more two buses and 55 minutes of agony in the morning. I’m definitely not the person you should talk to in the morning.

The best part? Google is upstairs.

I just got the tour yesterday because one of the girls came downstairs to the Credit Union with a box of chips. Yeah, potato chips! For us to polish off. They used to throw the bags out because the ‘best before’ date was past due and they just … chucked’em. Now we get them!  Since it was my 4th day at the branch and I had never met this girl before, I got so excited — because I mean, who wouldn’t after receiving 20 bags of chips? I was also given my choice of some swag. I received a super soft blue google t-shirt, a pretty purple pen and some sticky note’s that says google on it. *sigh* I love that place.

Oh. I also went to a U2 concert in Toronto on Wednesday. We had floor tickets. I didn’t get many photos but here’s a few that I took while Bono was performing. Second concert I went to (ever, in life lol) and both of them were free from the company my Boyfriend works at. The company bought 25,000 tickets to hand out to staff and family. Score! Last (and free) concert was Van Halen last year or the year before. Bono’s show was pretty good. Since we were on the floor, at times it was difficult to see him sing and dance everywhere. I ended up watching the huge TV screen for a lot of it, but then I tried stopping myself from doing that because… it’s a live concert, I don’t want to be watching the TV of him — I want to see him for myself with my own eyes. He wasn’t too far away from us either, I would have estimated about 100 feet away. Some of the shots I took are of the TV screen since I only brought in my blackberry for fear of my camera being confiscated, and a blackberry isn’t the best for zooming in on a person 100 feet away.

I ended up doing a somewhat impulse purchase out of my visual wishlist that I had sort of been wanting for a while. But I never purchased from their site before, so I was kinda hesitant on sizing. But as soon as I saw it was on sale, I ended up buying it. Not too sure how long it’ll take to arrive, but I’ll be patient and run after the mail lady here at work on a daily basis :)

Wow. Lots of news.

I test drove a private sale Acura RSX during my lunch hour yesterday. The power steering on it was difficult, but took a bit of getting used to. Color? Black (awesome). My thoughts? I think I’ll still wait it out for the Mazda that I’m so set on.

HAPPY FRIDAY! It’s the weekend!
