OOTD: Maternity Maxi Dress

Probably, no — definitely the first dress I’ve worn since my wedding dress back in 2013! I’ve always liked the look of black maxi dresses and thought I’d try out out, and it fits the bump perfectly with room to grow. It also has pockets! I knotted the bottom of it because I prefer the more casual look it gives, since again, not really a dress person over here. This is me last week at 20 weeks along.

Also, side note….how proud of me are you, that I took this photo set up on my diaper bag with my phone propped up on my toddlers water bottle, set the self timer to ten seconds and kept shooting til I found a pose I liked. Haha! Who needs a photographer 😂jokes. Anyway I’m super happy how it turned out. Bebs was off to the side sitting down having a little lunch.

My husband saw this picture, and asked if I’m holding my belly up because it may fall off… 😒🙄😂

I’ve had this excellent burst of energy for the past few weeks and I’m not taking it for granted. Clearly since I’m way more active here on the ol’ IG, bright and early here this morning. The summer sunrises are so bright in our bedroom it wakes me up. I’ve gutted my closet (not today/this early in the a.m.) Sorting out the baby bassinet that I put in storage. And going on almost-daily adventures with bebs. Trying to think of new places to go each time to keep his interest. I know I’ll be slowing down in the upcoming months with the bigger belly to come, and squished miniature bladder …taking it all in stride.

What’re your plans for the week? And exploring your city, and keeping within those covid guidelines? I always wear a mask, but have obviously been taking them off for these photoshoots I do.

Week 4-20 through photos

I never documented many photos throughout the months/weeks with bebs, and I somewhat regretted it. So here I am going back in time, sharing some photos that I took along the way when this little one was a secret (heehee!).

I intentionally have been wearing the same (sorta) clothes so I could see the belly growth. Here we go!

4 weeks pregnant

8 weeks (This was Easter Sunday)

12 weeks (This was on Mother’s Day)

16 weeks along – I started to really show around 18 weeks or so. Here it looks like I just ate too much! haha.

20 weeks pregnant – the day I took my announcement photos with bebs.

I’m pretty happy about the boost of energy I have during this second trimester. Like my last pregnancy, the only real symptoms I have/had are sheer exhaustion within the first trimester. I slept for hours during the day when I put bebs down for his afternoon naps. Definitely took advantage of that! It’s definitely more difficult being pregnant with a toddler running around.

I’m also taking full advantage of this time where I have tons of energy to take my son out on adventures, and not having to pee constantly – I know that my small bladder syndrome (lol) will creep up on me in the coming weeks and I won’t be able to walk a block or two without realllllllllyy needing to go. TMI? Oops.

I have a lot more posts coming up, as I said I’ve been documenting this pregnancy so much!

Bebs is a big brother!

Bebs is going to have an adventure buddy for life!

Our family has been growing for 20 weeks, and I’m excited to announce we’re expecting baby # 2 due late November. Already growing well and measuring ahead (another big baby!). We’ve found out the gender of our baby quite early on – but wondering if you have any guesses as to what we’ll be having? I’ve been dying to share this new with you all for so many months. Being pregnant with bebs I announced it at 18 weeks.

At my last OBGyn appointment the other week, I questioned my Dr as to why I hadn’t been having so many appointments with this pregnancy as I did with bebs. He told me “well, for a non-dramatic person, you certainly had a lot of drama with your last pregnancy, didn’t you?” – even though he only saw me from 37 weeks on, since I switched OBgyns/Insurance at the last possible minute and it was the best decision of my life (although a little stressful, trying to get in with that “fave doc” of mine). It all worked out! Well, who knew – I mean, I kinda knew there was some high risk stuff going on with bebs but seeing as it was my first pregnancy I had no idea what was “normal” and what wasn’t with regarding seeing so many Docs. Ha! Consider my naive.

Routine OB appointments have been strange of course, as I’ve been going alone. Scott hasn’t been allowed to join me in the doctors offices for these joyful moments of seeing baby on the ultrasound screens or hearing the heartbeat. Hanging out in the waiting room with other women, trying to smize with your eyes to be friendly with everyone quietly sitting in the waiting room while we all wear face masks and remain 6+ft apart to promote safety and to meet COVID guidelines.

Now I need another Instagram handle to come up with (see @minikerms here), heehee!!

Hooray the news is out! The end!
