Oof you guys. What a rough weekend I mean, I’ll spare you the details but involved myself, and my eldest boy and cleaning up…. vom) it felt so good to start this week on a brighter note. My eldest and I both came down with some kind of gastro bug, which meant lots of rest, downtime, and canceled plans. We spent most of the weekend lying low, and I kept him home from school yesterday just to make sure he was no longer contagious. Thankfully, by this morning everyone was feeling so much better.

Once I dropped the two older boys off at school, I decided to take my youngest on a little adventure into the woods. The lighting was absolutely gorgeous as it always is in this location… that perfect, soft fall glow that makes everything feel a little more magical. No matter what time of year we visit this spot, it honestly never disappoints. It’s one of those places that looks beautiful whether you’re shooting with a fancy camera or, like me, just your regular ol’ phone.
We spent about an hour wandering around, which was just the right amount of time for my almost two year old to explore. It’s actually been about a year since we were last here, and this was his first time adventuring without his big brothers by his side. It felt really special to have that one on one time, watching him toddle through the leaves, and trying to pick up huge branches.
I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos of him in his little fall outfit. The white sweater he’s wearing is from Feltman Brothers, it has the sweetest wooden toggles and a tiny pom pom on the hood. I’m so glad I sized up to a 3T, because it fits him perfectly right now.
Enjoy the photos below, and I hope the rest of your week is filled with fresh air, good health, and maybe a little sunshine too.
