My latest prAna purchases

My Mom’s last few days here in California was right before everything was shutdown due to COVID. One of our last outings was to Palo Alto to browse around the beautiful Stanford Shopping Center. After that we drove across a few streets to get to the Town and Country Village, where I know they have a prAna store. I LOVE that store so much. In the past (around 2017, and 2018) I worked with them fairly regularly to promote new launches and new campaigns they had social media influencers working on.

I’m no stranger to prAna’s clothing as I remember my friends back in Newfoundland wearing them while we went climbing, back in the late 90s! So when I had the chance to work with them and try their clothing out for myself, I was hooked. I still have and wear most of the items that they sent me in the past. They wash and hold up incredibly well, even if you chuck them into the dryer. I still can’t get over how they still look pretty much brand new.

So, I waltzed into the Palo Alto store, tried on a handful of things I knew I wanted to try, and walked out with an updated (and smaller!) pair of leggings for myself. I liked the oversized fit (and especially the colour) of this cozy up sweatshirt, but I didn’t like how it bunched around my waist.

You can tell I felt great in this outfit! These are the transform leggings I ended up buying. For my birthday, I asked my husband to pick up the cozy up summer pullover for me – and he did. I’m pleased as punch.

These are the transform leggings in the green shade. I liked them a lot too, but I knew I’d get more wear out of the black ones. Plus, I already have a pair of olivey-greenish leggings.

I clearly did not want to leave the dressing room without buying the top too, but I couldn’t justify dropping all that cash at once, even though I reallllllllly loved the top. I knew I wanted to walk in there and get an updated pair of leggings.

Have you ever worn prAna’s clothing before?

Outfit of the Day: Oct 2, 2019

Second of October, wouldja look at the time fly by. We’re already organizing our Christmas card photos since we’d like to have them mailed out a little earlier since most of them go to Canada and I’d like them to arrive before Christmas. Similar to last year we’re going to do them ourselves with a tripod set up in a specific location I’ve scouted out for us this year. Let it be a tradition, I say!

So, another OOTD post. You bored of them yet?

This time I’m comin’ atcha with a new feature – these vegan boots I got as a PR sample. They’re the Luana bootie made by Arcopedico.

Like ’em? I sure do. I got a size 9 and I think if they did half sizes I’d definitely size up. I don’t usually wear socks in my shoes, but come winter time I would and I think I’d need some extra room in there if I’m wearing socks.

How has everyone been? Thanks for sticking around all these months while I tried to figure out what to do with the ol’ blog. I knew I didn’t want to turn it into a full-blown mom-blog since I prefer not to talk much about my son online, or show his face/name. But occasionally I’ll update you on his fun adventures. For now, I’m trying to find the best time to sit down and write a post, and what type of posts – OOTD/Beauty related etc. I’m not sure.

Anyway let’s get onto a few more outfit photos, then the outfit details.

This next pic is a more of Instagram vs. Reality. I don’t have a vase for my pampas grass yet, and so I put this one stalk in a giant pot hoping it’d stay put for my photos (which it clearly didn’t since I’m holding it in most the pics). Hence my frustrated face trying to fix it while my self-timer shots kept going on.

Outfit details:
Sweater: Universal Threads by Target. I’m usually a small/medium but I stuck to the small for this sweater. The medium made the sweater too frumpy
Leggings: Forever 21 high wasted. Junk leggings that I need to keep haulin’ up. I’ll keep wearing until they wear out because I hate wasting money.
Booties: Arcopedico (linked above!)

Outfit of the Day: Sept 23, 2019

All black was my go-to for the past year. But it never really suited me as much as earthy tones does. So in the next few upcoming OOTDs I’m bringin’ it back. For now, enjoy an all black ensemble.

I also realized it’s much easier (obviously) to take my outfit photos when he’s napping.

Outfit details:
Tank: Old Navy (they seem to bring this one back every year). I bought it in a size large and wore it while pregnant. Now I use
Leggings: prAna. These have lasted me 3+ years. I wear them at least 2-3 days a week, wash them in hot. Slapp’em in the dryer. Wash them in cold. Doesn’t matter, they don’t shrink, they don’t pill. They were a PR sample years back, but such a good piece. In fact, all my prAna clothes (which were mostly all PR sent/gifted) are fantastic quality that wash even better and still look brand new for years to come.
Shoes: Vince
Bag: Neiman Marcus
