Rock climbing adventures with Ancy Nancy

I LOVE my nephews who are now 4 and 5 years old. When I moved to Ontario in 2006, they lived in Ireland. I never flew home all that often and two summer’s ago they finally made the big move over to Newfoundland. Now? I fly home as often as possible which is just 2-3 times per year. But it’s still better than waiting over a year to meet my nephew, ever.

I almost forget to see the rest of my family and friends when I’m home because I’m so busy hanging out with the lil’ dudes.

I surprised Kelan at kindergarten and from there we spent the day with his Mom/my Sister-In-Law and was downtown for the majority of it. I carried him on my shoulders most of the way. CrossFit muscles put to use. Ugh, just adorable. I also surprised Ruairi at school but I think I spooked him a little since he thought I was someone else until I smiled at him and spoke his name. Oops.I even made asked Kelan carry my brand new Fossil purse for a while. He rocked it… and told me he loved the color. This kid’s got style, I mean look at his pose.

I took them to the local climbing gym for their first rock climbing experience. Sure I’m an ol’ hen at this gig. Can you believe I’ve been climbing for 17 years? I shouldn’t say that too loud, makes me feel old.

Ruairi giving it a try. Look at his little baby hands going up the wall in his lego sneakers. He was a pro! :)

Kelan is bouldering here, and I’m spotting him in case he falls! Serious face at all times are in order, for spotting ;)

Here he is going again on his own! Little monkey.

One way to tire kids out? Take them climbing. These fella’s climbed for over two hours! Exhausting on my end, too. I needed a nap.

That wasn’t the only time I popped into the climbing gym when I was home. I met up with my three climbing friends!

Johanna and I…yay buddies! She’s now engaged — wahooo!!! Aw man. I just noticed you can’t see her blingy ring in the photograph. Can’t be hiding that rock Johanna.

What time is it? …. It’s time to climb! Bam. Love my shirt? This is Kerry and I below. She reads my site every so often, so hello Kerry! Miss you already!

Lori and I have known each other since we started climbing together back in 1995. Woah.

My new favorite photo of the three of us. All finished climbing and getting ready to head out.Whewf. Busy climbing days for sure. I’ll be back with another re-cap. Most likely all about my nephews no less. Hope ya don’t mind!
