Review — coming right up!

I’m definitely going to be publishing a post in a week or two reviewing my BRAND NEW iPAD! Seeing as I’ve never really owned anything Apple based before. With the exception of an easy to use iPod Nano from 2006. Even that was a bit difficult getting used to, seeing as I’m a PC/Windows user.

My boyfriend was trying to convince me to get the BlackBerry PlayBook or even look into things like the Droid because the Droid 3 Accessories are pretty awesome so I’ve heard.

So I think people will be interested in seeing what I have to say about my iPad. My boyfriend hasn’t been home to help me if I had any questions — like setting up my WiFi at home — that was a bit of an annoyance, but I figured it out.

Stay tuned for next week!

The pits turned out great

Yesterday? Was the pits. Of course it also had to fall on a Monday, right?

I’ll give you a bit of a run down. I woke up late because I hit snooze for the first time in about three years. I got my morning shower and put my huge bath sheet sized towel on my head to dry my hair a bit before blow drying. As I bent over to put something in the garbage, or get my underwear on – I forget what I was doing. But my helmet head grazed the shelf where our mirrors were laying, underneath my hair brush. The shelf above the toilet. I hate those shelves.

Two mirrors came crashing down along with my wooden hair brush. I broke the damn mirror. 7 years bad luck? I don’t know really. Last time I broke a mirror was with my butt when I was a kid. It was on the couch and I sat on it.

Oh, and that’s not all. Our driveway to the underground parking garage was getting paved yesterday morning so we all couldn’t park underground. We parked outside, in the visitor’s lot. I got a bloody parking ticket. Seriously? I’m definitely fighting that one, since everyone had to get the hail out of there. Needless to say it was an angry morning.

Never mind the fact that I’ve had a terrible ear drum blockage since last week. Friday I ended up going to the drop in clinic and telling the Doc what was going on. He gave me some nasal spray for my ear drum blockage and sent me along my way. I feel like a druggie sniffing my spray up my nose every morning.

Don’t be negative… don’t be negative. I hate whining and complaining, so I had to totally do a 180 and make the day better.

I decided to ease my anger by doing a little shopping on my lunch break with my bosses daughter who also works with us. She’s pretty cool. Hi Amy! (She reads my site). Why did she come with me? Well, I needed some backup in case I forgot what I wanted when I was asking for it. So many jumbled numbers and letters to ask for, when getting an iPad. “I’ll take the iPad2, 32 gig 3g with wifi and a sim card please” sounds like something from outer space.

(Ignore my orange hair in the second pic. I think it’s the lighting, lol my hair isn’t orange.)

It made my day. The pits turned out great.

I loved school!

I haven’t enrolled in any Online Schools since living with my room mates. The last time I did anything it was when my work paid for me to learn more about web developing, and styling. Like HTML, and CSS. I find it difficult to study without actually being in a classroom and being able to ask your teacher questions face-to-face. However, at the same time – you don’t have to attend any classes when you’re doing online classes and you can pass in your homework or do homework at midnight on Saturday (if you’re me, and have no life lol).

There are tons of people who actually do their entire schooling with online degree programs in marketing or education, healthcare and even nursing. I basically went to school for free when taking my Graphic Design course from 2004-2006. Prior to that I was working at the hospital doing housekeeping and being a ward clerk (secretary) for the Doctors and Nurses. Before that, I got my diploma in textile studies which isn’t something that I use this day and age at all. I think it was to tie me over to see what I really wanted to do with my life. I was a total keener in school and loved doing my homework. Literally, I sometimes asked for more assignments, just to learn. I guess that Graphic Design is definitely my passion. I never knew what I wanted to do for the longest time. Even after graduating High School I knew I liked computers so I thought the next step was Computer Science. Whoa, I’m glad my Mom talked me out of that. That is not what I would’ve liked, for sure. I liked the thought of being an Elementary School teacher, but didn’t really want to pursue it. I liked art.. but what do you do with an Art degree? A few years later I found out what Graphic Design was and took a few night courses while I was working at the hospital. Signed up immediately for being on the waiting list for college, and got in.

My heart is in Graphic Design, and I worked hard to get funded by the government to get free tuition and living funds to go to school. I didn’t take it for granted at all and I’m glad I enrolled when I did. I got to better myself and move to a beautiful province. In case some of you don’t know, I’m from Newfoundland and I now live in Ontario. There’s tons of sites out there to help you if you can’t afford to go to school, sometimes online schools are cheaper. However, if you want you can get your Free Application For Federal Student Aid http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ online.
